Just remember WW, the Word of Evan is the Will of Evan. Evan has a purpose for everything he says and how he says it and all that jazz. Remember to read what's written. Oh, and previous usage. And all that other stuff. Ans let's not EVEN go to figurines of speech.

Good Lord Wolf & Mark, you're making some hefty ASSumptions about me, aren't you? I simply came in to report that my sisters & wife & I "liked it". I feel no need to discuss my experience because I simply don't care enough about it to get into a discussion. If you read my posts on this thread, I've not defended Momentus once, and I won't. I simply shared my experience. But I've sure had to defend myself against all kinds of ridiculous accusations.

Dang, and I'm flying Northwest/KLM to Europe & on to Africa later this week! You're right about security in Europe. They do a MUCH better job, are MUCH more thorough, and are at the same time, less intrusive than the TSA drones.

Who is Jesus? By John Lynn
TheEvan replied to Jeff USAF RET's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Awright Rachel! But I don't quite know where to start. How about this? (Imagine me posing this like the 'Church Chat' lady from SNL): "Rachel, and who do you think said you'll become like gods? Hmmm? Could it be...mmm....SATAN???" I don't say that to be ugly, i just couldn't resist after I got the picture of the lady saying that. :)-->I'll be eager to hear others' comments on the subject. When it comes to Godhead, a subject of which NOBODY here has personal experience, people love to make definitive, open-and-shut, that-settles-it, kind of statements. Don't they? -
Steve, I know you're sincere and you mean well. I thank you for that. Mark, I don't need you to take my testimony seriously. I simply don't give a damn. I owe no explanations.
-
My son thinks it's so funny & cool that his parents used to be in a cult. Yeah, I tell people...
-
Steve, it is YOU that doesn't know what Momentus did to or for me. YOU are not ME. I am ME. I was Me in the seminar I went. I know what experience I had. The horse you're beating just seems silly to me. Sorry.
-
"So far you have contributed nothing here except a cult like zeal." That totally misrepresents my contributions on the subject. I have nothing to say to you.

1. socks, you are toooo funny! 2. Steve, I'll say it a bit slower: I --have --nothing --to --repent --of regarding my participation. I wasn't harmed. I participated, didn't go to the nut house, nor start having wacky revelations (or whatever) and the hold harmless provisions I signed became moot. Geez, I wasn't making a Holy Commitment To Gawd. End of story. 3. I don't speak Greek. And haven't you noticed that speaking Greek hasn't helped the Greeks to be more spiritual? But I understand English just fine, thank you. As I'm sure you do. I'm sorry a number people were harmed in that thing. I hope they've changed their methods (BTW, your experience and mine don't quite jibe) from what you report, or, if they haven't, stop the heck operating. From what I'm hearing, I'm glad I didn't recommend it to others...

What was that movie that parodied the est training...with Burt Reynolds (of all people :D-->) ? it was hilarious. Especially when Burt pees his pants...

How must money did you give the Way for classes and etc?
TheEvan replied to year2027's topic in About The Way
Not including paying for Corps, prolly around $80k. Could easily have topped 100k. But it's just money. I'm out and we're doing fine, thank you. -
Steve, I've nothing to repent of regarding Momentus. From the sounds of it, I guess CES might. But I don't. Your broad brush isn't working for me. BTW, our children dug the changes we exhibited after returning from it. Enough so that one of them requested to go to the teen version (which is a bit 'kinder, gentler') and she totally dug it. Her 'ministry' with other kids took off as a result and she has become a leader among other Christian youth here. My son took another tack. For a few years, when we'd do something offbeat as a family, or make him do something he didn't want to, he'd joke that "someday I'll go to Momentus and I'll anguish about this in front 20 other people, you'll see". Funny guy him.

Apparently my marriage was & is a strong enough foundation to withstand the torture -->
-
Yeah mj, it was really strong stuff. I'd be concerned about recommending it. But I think Pat should go. He needs it.
-
BTW, my convoluted path to Momentus didn't include the Lynn-ites. The one who really pushed it was my (never Way) little sister. she was interested in clearing the air about our really bad childhood and saw it as a vehicle for doing so. It worked for that. The three of us are now quite close...an amazing result. Do I recommend it to others? No. But I'm glad I did it...
-
Hey Garth, I related my experience. Somebody else with an experience contrary to mine is welcome to share their experience. And apparently those without a personal experience are quite free to spout off as well.
-
My wife & my sisters & I did it. We really dug it. But it's certainly not for everybody. Certainly not for neurotic people...that's what mental health professionals are for... My observation is that few people put wheels on what they learn there. Seems most people 'have an experience' and then just return to their previous lives without making changes. Too bad...

Why I reject belief in the Bible
TheEvan replied to Refiner's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
CKnapp said "Zix, did I wake up this morning in the former Soviet Union? Zix, I have the right guaranteed by the Contstitution of The United States regarding freedom of speech! I have the absolute right to express my "bigotry", if that's what you want to call it, just as much as you have the right to speak defensively of the bible." Um, your right to comment wasn't questioned. The content was commented on. Just like I will: What you said was boorish and in poor taste. -
Why I reject belief in the Bible

Oh, come on John, Paul wasn't praying in Eph 3:14ff either...he was just writing. Right? -
Why I reject belief in the Bible
TheEvan replied to Refiner's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
john, does it bug you when people say "thank you Jesus" when praying? Paul did it: 1Ti 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; The Bible also endorses a direct, personal relationship with Jesus now...a thing not endorsed of "da Holy Ghost" -
Why I reject belief in the Bible
TheEvan replied to Refiner's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
def, this is where trinitarian dogma trips me...worshipping the Holy spirit. no, the scripture does not condemn or prohibit worshipping the Holy spirit, though jesus tangentially prohibits praying to the Holy Spirit. But the scripture never endorses worshipping the Holy spirit, while it specifically endorses and is filled with examples of worshipping Jesus and the Father and prayer to both. Can you enlighten me? -
The Trinity has met it's match!
TheEvan replied to Jeff USAF RET's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
dmiller, being able to see both sides of the sovereignty/free will issue without being able to decide on either may be the ultimate truth. It is simply a matter of educating yourself on both sides. I think both are true, to a point, and partially express the tension between flesh and spirit...God's perspective and man's. The same could be said of trinitarian vs. one-i-tarian. -
Why I reject belief in the Bible
TheEvan replied to Refiner's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
Yeah the brush is too broad, sorry. You;ll find more "focus" among 'evangelical Christians' (sorry, another very broad brush) concerning certain moral issues: abortion, marriage, etc. Otherwise, the brush is too broad, my friend. But this has been a drumbeat of yours for years Garth, and you can't seem to resist pointing out how evil, or potentially evil, a certain stereotypical group of Christians might be. Well I can certainly be called an "evangelical Christian", though I don't call myself that, and I resent the broad brushes. Just like you would if I constantly broad brushed you in with 'those pinko left-wing Democrats'. I have too much respect for you to do such a thing. Back to the topic at hand, "belief in the Bible" is defined in too many ways to be useful for comparison. Heck, most chritian groups claim they get their beliefs directly from the Bible. Well, so do I -

While I'm on a roll, he he, lemme "ax" you this, dm: In your lexicon of beliefs, do you hold that Israel is 'held in abeyance' during the current 'administration'?
