  1. Faith and believing have always been an enigma to me. "Name it and claim it" category philosophies are always derided by some Christians although the Bible clearly states that such true "believers" as the decendents of Abraham must believe those things which are not as though they were. So what is the story here? I am now thinking that it has to do with the origin of that thing believed. So many "great believers" such as Hitler and Mussolini believed and brought into the world the results (or consequences) of their believing -- but they did follow through to the end on what they beleived. However it could be argued that what they believed was not from the true God. Abraham and Sarah believed God. Their faith was started by God. And faith has come to be used as that which God implants in us. Believing is the spiritual muscle that lines up the forces of the universe and gets the work done and brings it into reality. If this is so, then the little ditty, "believing is the key to heaven and faith unlocks the door" would be correct if that door one wants to enter is God's heart because only going after things that are on God's heart, which we receive by faith, are worth pursuing. Watchman Nee was a great advocate of doing nothing that was not under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Do you have any thoughts in this regard?
  2. This is from Jerry Golden, a messianic Jew who is working very hard to bring the Jews back to israel. He writes most pursuasively in my opinion.
  3. Well. . . Here are the words to the hymn which was slandered and degraded by twi. So precious, so lovely. So glad other Christians are not so ridiculing ridiculous.
  4. These all came into my email today: Addresses and information for people who may be able to help -- and your prayers are always of great assistance in helping God make a way where there is no way. Thanks for anything you can do to help in this regard: and another one: And another. . .

  6. Thanks. My brother (also deaf) loves that astronomy picture of the day. Thanks for the reminder. So cool all these details in God's handiwork. Thanks, again.
  7. This would come under "raw foods" category (Another reminder to be thankful for Grace Bliss and her teachings regarding how terrific are raw foods. What a blessing she was in the world!!!) I know both ginger and cucumbers are good for you.
  8. Lemons (I don't know if Lemons do all these things, but they are nice and this idea of freezing them and grating the whole thing is nice. I am using that in my tea.)
  9. of course I will need to wait until the dvd with closed captions comes out. this was sent to me by a precious friend.
  10. Thanks for caring. So glad prayers go where we cannot. And I do know by experience that prayers cover dogs and other precious creatures loved by God as well.
  11. I have some wonderful manger scenes. It's always so precious to find one where the baby Jesus actually looks like a precious baby. I don't know if it was 9/11 or 12/25 or ? ? ? but it's always precious to remember He was born and lived and gave His life for us. the beginning of the Jewish year, Tishri 1, Rosh Hashana, is celebrated with trumpets/shofar blowing, but there are so many differing opinions, i do not know which one Jesus was born on. this is from a googled Jewish calendar page: GREGORIAN Calendar: AT SUNDOWN... Jewish New Year Begins: Sunday, Sep. 16, 2012 Day Of Atonement Begins: Tuesday, Sep. 25, 2012 Tabernacles Begins: Sunday, Sep. 30, 2012 Tabernacles Ends: Sunday, October 7, 2012 The 8th Day Begins: Sunday, October 7, 2012 End - Annual Torah Reading Cycle: Tue, Oct. 9, 2012 I do like the giving on one's birthday as a tradition because it turns people into the importance of giving and that really is what we are here for. (i believe when we face the Lord we will be accountable for what we gave not what we received.) my opinion re vp's plagiarism: He copied and propounded some truths. Because he stole, the lovingkindness that was in the original was lost in what we received, but when we are found by the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to guide us into these things, all the acrimony and filth will be left behind. The birth of Jesus Christ should be "on this wise" a time of pure heaven-come-to-earth for us because that's what it was to God.

Twinkie and Rottiegirl and everyone else: Thanks from me also for the reminder of how personal and individual God is with us. He gives each of us what we need to go from where we are to a little closer to Him. I never understood why some saw people angels and other visions and some didn't see them. I was always thinking the things seen were physical things, but since they are spiritual matter it is starting to make sense to me. Thanks, again.
  13. Spaghetti Pie Old southern favorite that includes all you need in one piece. This is also a great dish to make in advance and cook later. Its a VERY easy recipe and fun to make. Kids will love it! They will love to help make it also. This is a whole lot easier than lasagna and almost the same great taste. Ingredients; 6 ounces spaghetti 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 2 each eggs 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup onion, diced 1/2 cup green pepper, diced 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz can) 1/4 cup diced black olives (1 small can works also) 1 can tomato paste 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic 1 cup cottage cheese 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/4 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano or Romano cheese (optional)...sprinkle on top just before serving. Prep Time 15 minutes Cook Time 35 minutes Total Time 50 minutes <a name="directions" rel="nofollow">Directions; 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-inch pie plate. 2. Cook spaghetti according to package; drain. 3. Stir together cooked spaghetti, butter, Parmesan and eggs. Spoon the mixture into prepared pan. Press the mixture on bottom and sides to form a crust. Bake 10 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, brown beef in a skillet; drain fat. Stir in onion, green pepper, tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and granulated garlic. 5. Spread the cottage cheese on the spaghetti and then spread on the meat mixture. 6. Bake 30 minutes. 7. Sprinkle mozzarella on top and bake 5 more minutes. 8. Cool 10 minutes. Cut in pie wedges and serve. VARIATION: Skip the layering and mix the cottage cheese and meat sauce in large bowl and pour into the lightly baked spaghetti lined pan to bake. Top with the cheese and bake.
  14. Happy birthday Socks!!! Thanks so much. So glad you were born. Such a privilege to have you in my life. Putting this here in "About The Way" because, in my opinion, this guy is one of the best things about that place we went through (or went through us). Socks is one of those precious ones who shows what Jesus Christ looks like, one of the ones who did and does bring kindness into the world.
  15. Rascal: Please try emailing that person (ponytail...) in the first post. I received this as part of a prayer list i belong to. (They usually post about dogs and other animals needing transportation.) I just pray for things as they come up and sometimes send $ as I can to help with the expenses. i think God only requires we do what we "see" we can do (and He is all the time opening my eyes to see more of that).LindaZ: Thanks for the idea. I am kinda afraid of Facebook and don't go there much. (I am kinda a stay-at-home-mom thinker -- that's why I stayed at twi so long). Facebook and all the invites and friend requests from people I don't have a clue who they are (from the distant past? or a waydale or greasespot person with a real name? ? ?) But I will try to follow your suggestion when I can. (I think that the people I know who care about animals are mostly here.) Thanks, again.
  16. Twinky. How is this? This is from my friend and chef Gary Lindstrum of Santa Cruz, California area. It sure looks great to me.
  17. From my friend and chef Gary Lindstrum:
  18. I believe you are an angel without an angle, Socks, you definitely blew into my life with a touch of life saving kindness for which I am eternally grateful.

I hope Ham does not take offense at this one: http://www.cci-ammun...ame/default.htm (technically a prairie dog). And here is another interesting one "Famous people with wiki-links": http://cliptank.com/...ncePainting.htm
  20. From Waysider: Contradictions: That one is pretty easy for me. We have spiritual eyes (e.g. for visions and revelations) that work by faith more or less. Stories are frequent that some see and some don't both in the referenced stories and in the Bible. To continue in this vein will only put this thread into lockdown or oblivion. Please keep this subject to angel stories. If you guys want to argue about stuff, start another thread in the twi section or in the doctrine section. There are some really nice posts on here. It would be sad if you could send this into oblivion. Please.

Here's another tricky one: WHEN THE GUY STOPS RUNNING, PLACE THE CURSOR NEAR HIM (just above his head). http://www.selfcontr...com/pakken.html Wonder who had time to do this? 22. That is really neat! But, how did you wash your outside window? Just noticed a response was needed. . . The Corporate Vice President of Compliance and Internal Audit was visiting at my casino, at my office and he asked how things were going and I groused, ". . . everything's ok except they won't let me wash my own window. . . " And he went out and washed my window and the office window next door. He was not a literal angel, but he was and is one of those drops of golden sunshine the Good God puts into our life whenever He can.

Thanks ExCathedra for this thread. I just love angel stories. Angels have such a cool sense of humor (like the car repair tool above). One of my favorites was one where the guy/angel showed up on a lonely road to fix this woman's car in a "broken down old truck" (surely she wouldn't be frightened of someone driving such a thing) Also the guy/angel didn't stop smiling. And of course "the disappearance" was amazing. That story was from "Angels are for real" which is one of my favorite angel books. The other referenced angel sighting thread mentioned is here. Thanks, again.
  24. I also had had wonderful management prior to twi and assumed better and better would be the twi corps experience (rather than corpse experience received). For the most recent 11 years, I had the privilege of having an exceptionally awesome management team, for which I will be ever grateful. As OldSkool and others show, good management works. Because I have had godly management I know first hand what a blessing that is. I am a "support staff" person with a long suit in loyalty and faithfulness. It's so nice to have godly people to work for. To every good (i.e., godly) manager: Thank you so very much for how you help your people become better people by your work.
