  1. burning issue raised by The Passion: Where did Jesus get his gardner getup when he got up. He was "wrapped in linen" in the tomb. (Mark 15 et al) And after Jesus and left the tomb got up, Peter saw (in the sepulchre) "the linen clothes laid by themselves..". Mel had him getting up, not butt dust, butt not dressed, either. Wondering....
  2. Congratulations Colleen on making it thru the first 11 years. (I think every minute of every day of parenthood has its own special challenges. My prayers are with you for many more overcomings!!!) Dear Cara, Happy birthday, and I hope you have many happy returns! God bless you always, In all ways, All your days, Hopefully and sincerely,
  3. imbus, there are also quite a few nice pet stories over in the "Pet Affection" archives. (Greasespot Cafe allows pets in the establishment, I think.) Hopefully,
  4. Each person who comes into the cafe leaves something of themselves. Matilda just gave me a great insight into my true nature. Of course without Pawtucket, none of this would be here, so he is "The Most." But everyone contributes what they can, making this such a delightful place to visit. Thank you one and all. Enjoy your comments,
  5. Fred got me a ticket to see this movie again last nite. Each time it gets better. Some scenes are particularly difficult to watch (Judas beset by demons) and others become more precious (communion, the carpenter's shop, the sermon on the mount). I like the way Francis Fangipane says, "speaks to the DNA of our spiritual identity..." Received from the Internet:
  6. Dear Nolongerlurking, Hope your birthday has been lovely, and perhaps somewhat green Happy St Patrick's birthday! ! ! (tried 3 times to get the green on. . . upgrade has different protocols, and I don't understand them yet. . . But the heartfelt wish is still there, nonetheless.)
  7. Dear Chatty Cathy, Hope your birthday's a wonderful one. HOpe you swing by to have some cake, Have some fun. In my book you are second to none! God bless you always, in all ways, all your days, Sincerely and hopefully, [This message was edited by Kit Sober on March 17, 2004 at 4:49.]
  8. And then, on the other hand, there Was Joanne Anderson. . . I had this kid in childrens fellowship who was Really a tough one. . . and I needed to go see Joanne for something (we were in Sacramento at the time, and Joanne lived in Oakland). . . So I asked the mom if she and xxxx would like to ride down with me and meet Joanne. Mom said yes. . . When we got to Joanne's house the kid was screaming. . . I looked helplessly at Joanne, and she said to the kid, come here, you look like you need a good.... (scroll down) Hug. Which she gave him, and an extra long time on her kind loving lap. . . And I don't know what Joanne did, but the kid was never the same. . . Hopefully,
  9. And a Happy St Patricks day birthday day. Hope it's green! You are definitely keen! (Do you get a green birthday cake very often?) :)-->," God [This message was edited by Kit Sober on March 17, 2004 at 5:01.]
  10. In 1969, when I worked at my first job as a Wells Fargo Bank proof machine operator, #50 First Street, San Francisco, I would watch the blender demo at Kreskge's during my lunch. . . and they would make a strawberry milkshake using beets and other vegetables. . . and I never found the combination vegetables, including beets, to make a milkshake that tasted like strawberries. (I am thinking about buying a Jack La Lanne juicer, as advertised on tv.) :)-->," God
  11. fruit => nourishment The concept of fruit providing nourishment was very impressive (as in impression on me). :P-->. :)-->," God
  12. WordPerfect, the word processing program that was designed to help struggling secretaries and other typists (legal, education, scientific, etc.) of the 80s do their job is now owned by Corel. MS Word, when converting WordPerfect docs, makes them unusable and you have to start over. (and the boss blames WordPerfect, not MS) Also MS has a graphic "corel" which is an ugly piece of pink coral that overwrites the Corel logo. And if you install MS after you install WordPerfect, WordPerfect will never work right again. All of the companies I've worked for in the last 10 years have gone to MS Office, even though it is more costly, less user support, and much more difficult to produce good documents. I miss WordPerfect, it was a better product and a nicer company to work with. Sincerely, :)-->," God
  13. And happy birthday to you! (How time flies when you're having fun!) :)-->," God
  14. Dear Dabobbada, Shakespeare had it wrong -- the Ides of March is a time for rejoicing. So glad you were born :)-->," God [This message was edited by Kit Sober on March 13, 2004 at 22:07.]

  16. I'd like to see a sexual forum (someplace other for these discussions) :)-->," God
  17. You can tell a tree by its fruit. The theology which has a Big Emphasis on "...Jesus never touched the cross" and ""...it was a stake not a cross..." etc. has the "fruit" of separating out its believers from the mainstream of Christianity and also replacing a godly humility and reverence for the Lord who died for us with an intellectual arrogance which will never know the One who gave His life for us. Hopefully still, :)-->," God
  18. Fred brought home "Revelation" from the video store today, and I was reminded that there is an increase of interest in Biblical based movies (Omega Code movies, the Jesus movies, Veggie Tales and others. . . ) The movies that are based on Biblical history prophecy are bloody, and when I have the video I can pause and take a break from it's much easier on the soul. The prophets and Christians have endured terrible fates, and any attempt to portray the Bible and Christian history accurately needs to include this. (Jesus also spoke truth when he said the world will hate His disciples as it does Him.) HOpefully (and looking forward to Mel's version of the Battle of Armaggedon), :)-->," God
