  2. Can you read the sign? (I couldn't understand what he was promoting.)
  3. Well, guys, if your woman uses "fine" too much it's not fine with your marriage. I needed it (couldn't even say it) this morning and felt my heart cauterize. Fine is self defense against insensitivity, which a woman does need. Holy Spirit knows the needs on both sides of the street and gives the best help here, which He did again, this morning. Holy Spirit is always the best mender of broken ways.
  4. Like an eagle. You need to add the http:// at the beginning. (click on the add-a-link icon when you are writing your post -- it looks like a world) the first box is for the internet address (http://xxxxx) and he second box is what you call it. another puzzle card from Jacque Lawson (learning is such and exciting adventure.)

    Santa Sez

Well I didn' think he was too good a santa. Didn't understand make a train, build a train, give a candy cane, or test a train. Those are things I think a real santa would know how to do.
  6. is a nice food for thought. Life outside of twi is better because twi was so phony (deny death, deny sickness, deny heartache). Now, there is sadness attached in the background of happiness (a loved one no longer here to celebrate with, heartache with a friend), but our lives now are more real, and the kindness we do makes a difference to tip the scales so there is more of the kindness kind of stuff in the world. back to gifting: klutz.com is a nice place to find stuff for hard-to-find-stuff-for family and friends on the list. Hope you find what you're looking for. Merry Christmas.
  7. Jacquie Lawson Santa jigsaw Question: I have received a couple of Jacquie Lawson cards from friends. Do you have the link for her page?
  8. The Jacquie Lawson one was the one likeaneagle was trying to link (the start of this thread). LAE is the one who instigated this. Kit

  11. This is painful subject -- I'm the one with a knack for presenting cheezy presents .... and here I am still trying to figure out presents, knowing that they are still cheezy. The boss where I work brought stockings for each of us -- with hope that we would fill them for each other, and I just finished wrapping a lovely garlic to put in the stocking of an Italian chef co-worker who is lo-carb. Others have, a finger puppet, A smiley fighter, candles, and a lovely tangerine for each. . . Oh well. . . Hopefully Christmas will be fun, if not perfect.
  12. Maybe it's Holy Spirit reminding you that, indeed, it's amore. C'est La'Amor -- Something like, That's life, only, "that's love." This Oh Little Town of Bethlehem has been running through my mind, "...For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above, while mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wondering love. O morning stars, together proclaim the holy birth! And praises sing to God the King, And peace to men on earth. How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heaven. No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him, still the dear Christ enters in. . ." God's love and kindness is still never failing. He works with whatever He can find to remind us of His love and kindness.
  13. Received this in email, and thought you might like to see it: It really is a wonderful thing that today in America we can profess our faith in the Lord Jesus openly and without fear.
  14. In and out of years I have seen the Lord heal and know He can do it one more time. Praying with you for your friend. Another one glad they have you on their side,
  15. Sorry about that. I meant to merge this into the other one. Kit
  16. Last year (2004) we were snowed in, and here in Reno, sales were way down. . . . but the roads were clear yesterday and Fred and I went out together for some presents. And I realized we were right in the mainstream. It seemed like people were in a good mood (not rushing, getting mauled at the mall, etc.). It was nice. I was happy for the businesses which seemed to be good. (We had two businesses, just in the small strip malls of Lemmon Valley that went bankrupt just before the bankruptcy laws went into effect.) How did you do "Black Friday"?
  17. Of course theres, It's a Wonderful Life, a movie I think everyone should see to be reminded of the difference they have made in the world. But there are a lot of Christmas movies, I thought you might put your favorites here. I saw Noel (on dvd), and it reminded me of the miraculous things that happen at this time of year because people are in a faith-ful mind set. Kit
  18. I think it's miraculous that we still have families that we can work with / complain about, whatever. (Just catching up on the brother/sister flareups we missed.) Hoping and praying for a breakthrough, for all of us that need one or two.
  19. A vote for spaghetti fight. We became estranged from both Fred's and my family from the 20 twi years (Surprise!!!), and even though we have changed, and now desire their friendship and company, they kind of cauterized their lives where we were, and now it's re-attaching that missing member so to speak. But we keep working at it. They aren't perfect either, we just grew apart, without those affection-bonding experiences. I watched the movie Noel last nite, and was reminded that Christmas is a time when the most people are thinking of Christ and what His life on earth was and is about. Christmas is a time when the miraculous is common place and accepted. Hoping for miracles for you in all regard. Hopefully,
  20. A note about Quickbooks/Quicken. They started out Christian. We started using Quicken/Quickbooks/Quickverse in the early 1990's, and also their card package Announcements from that period still can't be beat. But Parsons Technology, the creators, went out of business and sold off the stuff. And Quicken/Quickbooks has gotten more expensive, more complicated, requires more ram with every upgrade. I wish we had kept the last version from when it was owned by Parsons and never upgraded. Except, as noted above, the bank statement information is downloaded directly into the programs now, and that is a real blessing. Anything beats handwritten reconciliations. Maybe the Lord can send you someone who likes working with the accounting end to help you. Kit
  21. Well, Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called Yam. Of course, they wanted the best for Yam. When it was time, they told her about the facts of life. They warned her about going out and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots. Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her into the sack and make a rotten potato out of her! But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either. She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins. When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland. And the greasy guys from France called the French Fries. And when she went out west, to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped. Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones from the other side of the tracks who advertise their trade on all the trucks that say, 'Frito Lay.' Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University) so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips. But in spite of all they did for her, one-day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw. Tom Brokaw! Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset. They told Yam she couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just.. Are you ready for this? ................................ Are you sure?............................ OK! Here it is! .......... He's just a A COMMON TATER !!
  22. Many thanks to all you veterans, not only of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, but also many thanks to you veterans of the spiritual army who fight and continue to fight for His name. I salute you all.

    Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorites: families out and about, together. Dads protecting their children. Of course there used to me more princes and angels, knights in shining armor and warriors valiant for the truth. The classics from Waydale/Greasespot archives, for example:
