"wonderful" like simple words like holy and the Lord Jesus can become like xhit when spoken through a mouthful of that stuff, which imho, the twi mouth was like. Lawrence Welk could speak wonderful and it was truly wonder-ful, because that's what he was, wonder-ful -- full of the wonder of life, full of the wonder of making people happy and giving a pleasant time of light hearted entertainment (also light in the sense that the light of his life was the Lord Jesus). So many words have become for ex-twi people dirty and xhitty because of the xhit-filled hearts and mouths of that place. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, and don't throw out the words, which are often good words, because they were heard too much from a mouthful of dirt. Throw out the dirt (and hurt) of twi. Hopefully,

from Wordwolf, James 4:2, is one of my favorites. In "The Message" (a translation of the Bible that was written by a youth minister in the language of the kids he was working with) James 4:2 comes out, "You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children, each wanting your own way." Basically I am finding that whatever is prefaced with, "in pfal," or "as vpw said," or similar whine-skins, should be wiped out because those words wipe out logical thought. If I can't say something because it's from my knowledge of the Lord, or from someone who is living or has lived a life in Christl, etc. then maybe I should not repeat it. Ha ha on all those "one-liners" that were plagarized from men who really walked with the Lord.

I recently had a situation with my neighbor, a 85 year old widow who is one of the nicest people you could ever hope to know, but also not a Jesus Christ person. (Neighbor Ed is what prompted me to put these questions of my heart out here at the Greasespot Cafe.) Ed had a situation come up that was getting him riled, and I was afraid it would hurt him. I explained it to him thus: "There are two spiritual forces in this world, one who does nothing but steal, kill and destroy, and the other, the God I try to serve, Who only blesses in multitude of ways." "If you ask for stealing killing or destroying, then that spiritual force is the one who will answer. I, personally, don't have any inroad into getting that one to do anything for me. The only one who I have any inroad at all with is the one whose business is blessing and saving and helping. Therefore, only by praying prayers requesting blessings, savings, helpings can I keep going." (I really hate those kinds of talks because when I tell someone else these great magnificent truths, sure enough they will come to haunt me, and I will be required to live by the words spoken.) Oh well. Ce'st la amour. I do think that the seeing Jesus face to face is required to be able to say "I have heard." And that's why it's our job (as Christians) to show the face of Him instant in season and out of season. Hoping (Not hope-full, but still hoping),

on the Africam there were antelope types and now it's a bunch of zebra. Plus it appears there is someone on the camera keeping it focused and following the different animals. nice to me.

Because some are living wondrous examples of Christians who blaspheme with their lives does not tarnish the Christ. The amazing faith Jesus recognized was not a Jew. It was a Cananite woman and a centurion soldier who were seeking healing for their child they loved beyond words who amazed Jesus by their faith (Bishop Jakes was talking about that this morning). In my ventures into other churches I have found some of the same hypocricy of twi leaders, but also there are examples of those who have lived for Christ day in and day out with their whole being. Billy Graham comes to mind because he has lived long living a Christian life, with appropriate fruits. Brother Andrew also comes to mind, who in the 1950's was smuggling Bibles to people who could have them no other way. When they were stopped by a border guard he prayed, "Lord you have made blind eyes to see, now we ask you to make seeing eyes blind." The Lord answered his prayers then, and continues to do so. Brother Andrew's group, "Open Doors," continues to serve the suffering church. This is an easy topic for me: Christians who really are Christians do exist. This is what the Lord is looking for in His people. The difficult question is what about those who truly have "never heard." I don't believe someone who has been abused and screamed by a leader professing Christianity has heard Christ or seen Christ. I believe a twi prisoner of the devil (or anyone who has seen a twisted presentation of Christianity) can only be judged for what he has seen. I see no big difference in counting a Christian witness by vpw or by Madonna as exposure to Christ necessary to come under the judgment of "rejecting Christ." This is a big question to me, and I am so glad that God is God, and who makes it to His blue heaven is his business. Hopefully,

Reno is finally in the ballpark here. $2.59 at Costco yesterday.

Dear dmilller, What I was hoping for was not a link but the actual live cam appearing here. (When Raf does his hurricane cone postings, the "picture" he posts changes as the hurricane moves. It's a live thing.) But that sure is a nice picture. Not warthoggy at all. I can't say that now, don't want to offend the warthogs.

I find that it requires diligent effort to think no evil, to do good to them that persecute you, to let no corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth, to be ready to forgive, and slow to anger. And the degradation of "the good works of man" in twi eyes, as well as the ignoring ignorance of the life of Jesus Christ on earth, did not acknowledge living in a kindly manner as of being important. One twig in particular, a nice lady taught and during her teaching mentioned that her husband, though not a twi "member/follower" (whatever we called it back then), was a good man, treated her nice, provided for her and her children, was a good father and a good husband. One of the "leaders" at the meeting ridiculed that statement, and no one disagreed with him. I know a lot of woman who would love to have a husband who did those things. Still do. Billy Graham and some Christians teach that living in a godly manner is part of being a Christian and it is very nice. How is it in your world?

I have used the term (and called a person a) warthog but never seen warthogs in action. Greasy Tech: Can you put the actual picture at the beginning of this thread instead of the link (in manner similar to Raf does with the hurricane cones)? Thanks, again, Greasy Tech, for all you do to make this such an entertaining as well as educational experience. In hope,

Wavelit TV Africam.com Maybe one of these would get it for you. I was only able to get it on the wavelit tv.com, but I agree it's worth the search. The web page also tells you what day and time it is in Africa at the webcam is location. On MS pc, a double click gets you the full screen view, and in between the full screen and web page view is a blank black screen. Don't know how to get the full screen on MAC.

Well it's not a two-way thing. Muslims don't inhibit themselves out of respect for others. (We paid this guy's expenses to come to US and our President hosted him.) That guy who visited the USA and addressed the UN general assemby prayed in the name of Axxxx for their prophet to visit the world.

Wavelit TV also has a hummingbird feeder, and for a birdbrain such as myself that's neat. They have a premium service at $3.95 a month. Looks like a good deal. Nice place to visit.

And a "Hi" and "Welcome" from me, too. (And I also concur that Pawtucket is earning some great [heavenly] reward for giving a home to the truth and to people who want to know.)

I had a friend with 8 (8 mos to 11 years) kids who said, "I seem to be tired all the time." I thought that was a classic line. Still gives me a laugh. (Great kids. I haven't seen her in years, but whenever I think of her I hope and pray the kids grew up to help out and give their mom a rest.)

Ahh, but with the Lord all things are possible. Deuteronomy 34:7 (Remember that guy who owned the Greenlife stuff?)

This was a nice lookup. Thanks. All Bible plants list Lily of the Valley Lily of the Valley The story of the Lily of the Valley / Lily of the field is most precious. They need care (by our Lord we are cared for) and gentle treatment (our Lord is always gentle). Watchman Nee, a most gentle and kind Christian had a wonderful view of them and how they showed the kind and lovely care of us by or Lord, and our relationship to the Lord. When I find it I'll post it. Lily of the Valley childrens home

Way Disciple Weekly Report Form in 2000
Kit Sober replied to I Love Bagpipes's topic in About The Way
Too funny about it being a sin to have fun. (I loved door to door because I really tried to give people the love of Christ, and that, to me, is always fun.) Anyway, a most notable reaming I received was for laughing with my kids when we were praying. The "coordinator" of us couldn't find chapter and verse, but she was "sure" that it was wrong to laugh and pray at the same time. It put a damper on my good time with the Lord for a long time. -
Vickles, My mom gave us that lecture about the clean underwear, but she was concerned about our getting run over by a car and ending up in the hospital. And clean socks with no holes, in case we needed to take our shoes off for some reason. She wouldn't have imagined the horrible things the devil had planned for us -- just like I could not have imagined the troubles our children got into. Hopefully

If anyone sees him or knows how to get in touch with him, Please give Rev Bayunga my love and prayers also. (Upon every remembrance I pray for him. He was one of those mountain hearted people who showed me the face of Jesus by his kindness. I wish him well, always.) Hopefully,

As I understand it Sam Walton was a true Christian man of high character and love for people, both those who worked for him and those who shopped at his stores. I have known people who worked at Walmart who couldn't find a job anywhere else (including one couple who cleaned the parking lots during the nite, praying all the while, and worked at the gospel mission during the day. Lots of people have a livelihood because of that place. It does seem to me that the 2nd generation of leadership there is not like Sam Walton. I still pray for the place because so many of my friends work there still.

I amd developing a love for Alaska. Received this from a friend in Wendover NV: My boss went to Alaska a couple of years ago and came back with nothing but great memories, and Ralph and Joanne Anderson sent me a happy postcard from that place when they visited a few years ago (My oh my how time flies when you're having fun). Also on 9/24/06 "Extreme Home Makeover" Ty Pennington and his wonderful design team went to Alaska and with help from Alaska people who were so thankful to be able to give like that, gave a family of 13 a new house. It was a treasure to watch. It seems that Alaska is for building people of mountainous size hearts.

Words are few and far between. I can't believe the grief you have. My 1 sister and two brothers. (Connecticut, Argentina, Berkeley CA) and anchor points to my world. I've never lost one. My heart cries for you. And I hope the Lord can heal that hole in your heart that is so empty now and provide the anchor and comfort you-all need. Sincerely, In hope,

And in light of the Alzheimers, which may have blinded her to options avaialable early on. . . maybe she was just intimidated into the queen bee isolation and didn't know how to stop it. . . .being whisked into a life she didn't really understand and certainly, given the culture she was raised in, didn't have the social savy or support to fight the prison in which she was placed. Hoping to ask her these things in heaven,

excathedra wrote over on the Charity thread: And I was reminded of how precious were the words of mom and how twi, in the cult-drive to drain sense (and some fun non-sense) out of our lives, numbed us out to so much worthwhile stuff. So this is in honor of those moms (and dads) who loved us and provided their kindness of guidance when (perhaps) we didn't appreciate it. one from my mom:
