Thank you for all the kindness you have given. Your sharing of the experiences of your life in twi helped heal me in ways we will only be able to know when we have the eyes of the Lord to see with. Thanks. Happy belated birthday.
  2. It is showing in only one theater in Reno. Place was full (not packed but full, some empty seats). Epic proportions. Nice to see on the big screen. Esther was played as a loving playful young woman whose tenderness, open affection, and honesty were key qualities in winning the heart of the king. The king was regal. Mordecai was wise. I thought he also was perfect. Saw some tender little things of the story of Esther I had never considered. (Her parents, deceased, how they had loved her. The real danger of Esther's approach to the king to request an audience. The only lights at the time was fire. This movie had a "fire art" department, and the grand effects of that were, to me, a highlight of the film. Lots of stuff here to see upon re-viewing.)
  3. That is a nice story. (I have become so jaded by this place I was afraid to look at the thread because of the title.) Thanks for being nicely true.
  4. From the stuff I've seen it looks like a great one. Tommy Tenney and other evangelical and prophetic based Christians involved in the release. I am hoping Fred will go with me to see it.
  5. Amen to congratulations and good news makes the world sweeter for everyone. Thanks for sharing. Happy you have reason to dance!!!!
  6. Take The Lead -- Pulled Antonio Banderas out of "frivolous" to "definitely watch for" in my book. The Lake House. Fred liked it, too. (He liked Keanu Reeves in Constantine.)
  7. Very thankful here for French Horn. Son played Jr High and High School. His band opportunties gave him association with some nice kids. Forever grateful,
  8. I was raised in a nice Christian church where the bake sales, car washes, and making and gathering stuff for "the missionaries" was a time of fun and fellowship and making money for a good cause -- to help the kids who were going on the event, the missionaries, etc. It was just nice. I think twi didn't want to have any unlegislated nice times -- times that they didn't control. egad that we should help someone out by raising money to help them either get to an event or even, perish the thought, help out a family or twig member that was in need. When they made "a decision" to cancel group effort fund raising stuff I thought twi was a lot less Christian (this "decision" reached us on the wow field in 1980 i think).
  9. Now there's some zebras over at Greasy Tech's pond Greasy Tech's pond
  10. It seems to me that when we allow our definitions to be defined by twi, then we are handing over authority to them. That's why I endeavor to remain with the definitions received from the kindness of the Lord.
  11. I can only add my prayers. It sure was nice having LarryP around a while back.
  12. I suspect my problem is microsoft caused, because the error message that comes now, even though I am using the Firefox browser, is "send error report to microsoft."
  13. Are those darting things at nite bats?
  14. Africam is too funny -- Here comes strange creature -- car and the people (who I guess take care of the place). Just funny seeing people there, after so many days of enjoying watching rabbits and deer, zebras and other non-domestic animals. Car with the people leaves and leopard drinks from the pond.
  15. In America, USA, where I live, there has been very little cruel bodily torture, which is the routine for such places as Iran, China, and India (Persecution.com or Open Doors for example). I have long thought that people who were being tortured, burned at the stake, and otherwise killed because they loved the Lord Jesus Christ, would not be wont to engage in an "is this an end times" discussion. And that maybe this is what believing it's the end times is all about: Coming to the place where the importance of everything except Christ is ended. The little Amish girl who said, "shoot me first" to buy time for the others, the little girl at Columbine who did not deny the Lord Jesus as well as the Christian whose "distinctive barritone" voice could be heard singing hymns from outside the prison where he was incarcerated -- these all had reached that place where they lived only for Christ other things were ended in their lives. I think that's how we need to be ready for "the end times."
  16. Well, something happened when I Installed Firefox, that made my computer receive an error when I go to the Pete's Pond web page. I tried uninstalling firefox, reinstalling (and upgrading) Explorer, and then reinstalling Firefox (at dmiller's suggestion). Also I reinstalled RealPlayer in an effort to be able to go to Pete's Pond web page. I have computer son who will, I hope be able to fix whatever happened. I think it's a microsoft-induced error because their software is famous for not allowing other things to work, or making them work inferior manner (My experience here is with WordPerfect).
  17. I was looking at a diet book, and the author had another one she'd written, "How to have a great bottom." I think it's important, not when the Lord returns, but that we have our bottom covered -- we are good to go from the bottom to the top of us.
  18. Something on Pete's Pond website (or a blocked popup?) kicks me off the Internet. Any ideas? (when I first went to Pete's Pond, I got a message that said I needed to install RealPlayer. It came with Mozilla, so I thought I would try that. After I had mozilla and there were too many problems (including getting kicked off Pete's Pond) and I deleted it. I still cannot go to Pete's pond. (I also upgraded real player and I also upgraded Explorer.) dmiller. I reinstalled Firefox, but still can't go to Pete's Pond. I put a note on the Firefox discussion that Linda Z started. Still hoping,
  19. just in time This morning when Fred and I were praying, it seemed to me that Thank you and Please will you were pivotal on the Now. Thank you (for all you have done, in general and in specific) Now Please will you we ask. The Lord has always heard us and will always hear us in the future, and therefore, a lot of things can be equally forceful either way, either please we ask or thank you. But stuff like end all wars can only be a future thing. Specific stuff He did already is a thank you. But stuff like our wonderful children, A good marriage, and peace in our country, need a touch of both a thank you and a please we ask. Hopefully and thankfully,

I would say this comes under the category of "living what you speak." Reminds me of Proverbs 20:11: "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. The Message version has it, Young people eventually reveal by their actions if their motives are on the up and up. I hope I could be so courageous.
  21. And it's also noteworthy by my alma mater. when one member is honored, the whole body is honored. (or something like that, depending upon your version) Thank you for making this a note worthy event for me, too. I would have just deleted this email if you hadn't pointed it out, here. You made it note worthy for me, too. Thanks, again.
  22. Indeed the names of God is a monumental subject. Some people use G-d to indicate the name of Him who cannot be named. I have one daily devotional "I AM 365 calligraphic renderings of the names of God" by Timothy Botts (out of print). Also a book, "the Wonderful Names of our Wonderful Lord" by TC Horton, also out of print. I can't even see a date on here. From the preface of the work, "My own heart's desire has been intensified that I might feel the tender touch of the pierced Hand upon my brow, and pillow my head upon the bosom of Him who poured out every drop of blood in His veins that He might cleanse me from sin and claim me for His own, and I am sure that this longing will find a sincere respone in the hearts of others. What a joy it will be to pray every day for other believers who may be meditating upon the same name of our Adorable Lord as together we seek to make Him more real to our own souls." To approach the awesome majesty of His name comes by approaching Him in humble adoration. Certainly that most wonderful Lord, who answered George Washington Carver's request to understand the universe with the admonition to take on something closer to his own size. "How about the peanut?" "That's good." If the awesome treasures of the peanut took a lifetime to explore for so great a scholar as George Washington Carver to begin to unearth (and also turned the economy of the South around by replenishing the soil ravaged by the cotton industry), how much more should we be humbled in our grand exploration of the most holy of all holy things to investigate, the Name of the Lord. In awe,
  23. Well, one of my all-time favorite people to listen to is/was Watchman Nee (he died in 1972, but his words live on in books that tell his story). He was arrested by the communists in China where he lived (he died in prison after 12+ years of imprisonment for being a Christian, and "enemy of the state"). Before he was arrested he had been publicly maligned and ostracized, and he and his wife were outcasts because of the charges laid against him and the communist public laws of associating with enemies of the state. Before he was arrested, one of his previous supporters, railed on him, and spitting words at him, said, "you are a failure, you have failed God." Indeed it was a low point in his life. Watchman Nee asked the Lord if this were true, had he failed God? God said, "No you haven't failed me." And that was enough for Watchman Nee. Watchman Nee's God supported him through it all. It was said one could hear his distinctive voice singing hymns of worship and praise from the prison yard. His wife would die, alone, when she fell in her house and no one was there to help. This occurred only a short time before Watchman Nee was scheduled to be released from prison. When Watchman Nee heard his wife had died, he died. That was in 1972, I think. Most of his books were written by other people from notes of his lectures delivered before his imprisonment. Much of his published works he never reviewed or approved. Indeed, although it was much maligned by twi, a relationship with the Lord, and being able to count on His comfort and guidance and strength is how we can keep going through days no matter how dark and dismal. "Take it to the Lord in prayer" is a catch-all phrase in the truest sense, and it is also a light-hearted casting off of burdens, and it is deeply felt and meant as a solution to the queries of the soul. Hoping still,
  24. Again, so glad that I am gaining my mind back to be able to, once again, grasp such intricate concepts as ask, receive, and then say thank you. My mother did teach me this, but then in the logic of the twi cult mind set, I had exchanged the "ask receive and say thank you" logic for "say thank you and then receive." I do understand the holy way of trusting the Lord in His goodness, and that goodness, and attendant blessings, are always with us. And I do thank Him for His goodness, upon every remembrance. Thankful and still hoping,
