Waysider. Without a doubt. And the your dad had for his wife to motivate this is also noteworthy. (On the wings of our love is where Holy Spirit can breathe his kindness.)

I was trying to find a friend I lost touch with and there are so many pay-for sites that come up saying they have the information I need. I just need address, but apparently they are not in phone book. (old person here. I remember when it was all free look ups.) Any suggestions? (If I got to pay that's ok, I just wanted another opinion on what to look for in good sites that won't fill my pc with their stuff.) Thanks.

Received this in email, and especially Chuck Quady's passing brought afresh the sadness of my own brushes with suicide. Suicide is being viewed more an more as an alternative to solving life's problems. I had one friend at work, Kelly, whose son did this. Kelly's son was the apple of his eye, his only child, in college, seeming to be doing well, the only thing that would bring a sparkle to his eye and smile to his lips was speaking of his son. I could find only meager words of comfort, and to this day the memory of this event only provides me with an example of "there's nothing sadder than this" that can happen to a parent. I have not found the joke for this that is a punchline to the devil.

I try to help these kids out, many who haven't had the benefit of what we had - extended families and great neighborly mentors around to learn from, hope for a working job, (HP has moved their factory to China -- where can an American kid hope to get an advancement kind of job?) These kids have my deep sympathy, and I just try to help them out of that prison they see of life. These kids are taught in school that suicide is an alternative to solving problems of life. They have thousand dollar a year car insurance policies they need to carry just to drive (My first car, a pink VW bug, was a big $150 investment, and my folks put it on their insurance policy for a $50 add-on.) When a kid (anyone under 50) is mean to me, I am reminded of the infant who p#ees all over you when you take his diaper off. It's really nothing personal; it's a reaction to the cold; he doesn't know what he's doing.

I have always liked that "joke" and especially think it's funny because I have found it true (Jesus has protected me far more securely than a 140 pound rottweiller ever could.)

The father who teaches, who makes his child a child of hell worse than himself, is closer to the devil's heart. vp is my vote for worst, far worst. From what I can see lcm created few worse then himself. lcm's destruction of twi, in part because he could not reproduce the evil he had been taught may be to his credit when he appears at the judgment seat.

So I am with the oilfieldmedic idea that Church is nice place for Hi-how-are-you-i-love-you-God-loves-you and ice cream social gatherings. The "social gatherings" ridiculed by vpeeee I think are a vital part of being a full person. We got lots of fat church members here, too. No smokin no drinkin but Bible says nothin about no good eatin. Note: Reno NV here. But I would go to Missouri or somewhere else. (I was planning on going to a weekend church event with Su*ie Aa* but lost contact for that.

I think kindhearted people don't have a clue about how the other half lives. I had one person I have tried to befriend over the years, and the only thing that surprises me is the cruelty they think is entertaining and/or funny. I now think that's how people live vpw gathered such nice people around him. We didn't have a clue. But still we don't have a clue of what he did / how he did it because our minds just don't fathom it. We are color-blind to the vile thinking (plagiarism, sexual perversion et al just weren't in our list of "what is going on here"). I can so easily see Mrs. Wierwille having a nice time above -- just enjoying a good time having fun. If vpeee was around it wouldn't have been nice at all. I think she just didn't have a clue because she was kindhearted.

I always try to listen to them, and even though I cannot buy their stuff, I try to be nice and cheery. For many people (including disabled and other chair/home bound people), it's the only job they can get, and I figure that in addition to whatever physical burden(s) they need to endure, there also are those, such as these from the Greasespot Cafe, who work make their lives miserable. (One of the shameful things of this cafe.) There but for the grace of God go I.

Anyone knows how Dad is able to pay to be able to do this?

Please, when you see Lou, give him my good wishes, too. He is another one of those who showed me the face of Jesus Christ who I miss.

Del, too. So many good ones who showed me the face of Jesus Christ who got eaten alive by twi. My voice is with those in Revelation 6:10 who call for revenge.

I'd love to go to a Joyce Meyer conference. I watch her on tv and it looks like people in her ministry are having a good time.
-
Thanks. I was wondering how it was going.

Be careful what you post here. It will show up in court!

From WordWolf on a friend tracker thread: -
Well, with the new birthday list posting for all to see the previous is unimportant. However, over on a friend tracker thread, I saw this by WordWolf and wanted it for people to see:

IMHO the answers for the questions of our heart are found from the Holy Spirit. He alone knows how to frame the words we need to hear. I love going to churches because they are a hotbed of people who are trying to learn to live in the presence of the Holy Spirit. twi, as cult mentality organization, fostered the believe that someone (twi) had all the answers and was to be, therefore, made as god. Del Duncan, when Fred wanted him to tell him what to do, said, "you have to figure that out for yourself." (Another indication of why Del wasn't good twi material.) Dale Sides in his first class, and as foundational in all his teaching focus, would not and does not tell others what to do, but rather teaches that each of us must find the answers for ourselves from the Holy Spirit. He and his bunch helps build that Holy Spirit relationship. For me Dale's teaching was traumatic because, after 20+ twi years, I had an atrophied from disuse relationship with the Lord. IMHO churches are to be gathering together places of the saints and sinners, where we learn to love each other and the Lord. I enjoy going to church the most when I can quell the judgmental spirit and enjoy the place and the people who are there to love God and each other to the best of their ability. (But that judgmental spirit is hard to kill.)

How much control do we have over life?
Kit Sober replied to Bramble's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Appropriate reponse is how I would look at it. The Lord, I believe, really does have the whole world in His hands, and although He cannot control what people do, He can give those who listen to His voice direction and guidance. We respond to the situation at hand, and our response is determined by the preparation of our lives. We cannot, just as the Lord cannot, control the Osama Bin Laden's of the world due to that most precious commodity of free will. We choose our response. Those firemen and others who responded sacrificially on 9/11/01 chose to do so. The situation was not of their choosing, but their response was. The soldiers who are doing their utmost to serve and protect, the policemen (and women) who face such fearsome situations in their lines of duty respond to the best of their ability. As do we all, I believe. The preparation of our lives determine our ability to evaluate the situation we are in, and that we can control. The man and woman (or boy and girl) who choose to have or not have intercourse have control over whether or not there will be a decision regarding a baby. Control I believe is governed in the preparation and forethought of our lives, like the farm had who declared when asked about how he worked, "I can sleep in a storm." He could say that because he maintained the fences, always put aways the farm equipment and tools, and always put the animals securely away in the evening, securely locking the barn door. -
kindness Thanks excathedra for this most precious to me topic. Kindness was the first and archtype of my type of biblical research. Ephesians 2:7: "his" is in italics before kindness because all kindness is "his" All kindness in the world is from His hand. That was the first mark of Holy Spirit I learned to look for. Kindness. Yes I had some given to me. I always tried to give kindness. I have a bracelet I wear always with the prayer of Jabez on it, the result he prayed for was that "I might not cause pain." I think that the Holy Spirit gives kindness and the devil gives pain. Kindness from Holy Spirit is clean. No hidden dirt with it. No pain at all comes from kindness. Kindness is never part of manipulative measures. Thanks, again, for this space, excathedra. Your kindness makes me cry. (I think that where the devil has dug out a soul, when we let holy spirit fill it up with kindness, that's pretty cool.)

I like the basic foundational "A smile enhances your face value." I see first a girl (or a guy) that they need to smile, and the lack thereof is the makeup I try to apply, even when I forget to wear my teeth (although it's harder then).

Catholics, because they do the group event money raising things, put on some great feeds, from the soup kitchens they do at the Salvation Army to the feeding events throughout the year to support their other social services. I think the dinners and bake sales are a community service because of the fun of putting them on and the benefit to those people who do the work because they keep people active and giving long after they are working in a job -- as well as to the good food they make available. Little Flower Church, where I go here in Reno, does mac and cheese bingo nites, piroshki bake sales, corned beef St Patricks day dinner, and nice Christmas bake sales (and other stuff, too). Especially a highlight for me is the Passover meal they put on, which is complete with the Yarmulkas provided for the men, a backwards-written program, and the readings and blessings (by our priest) as well as the good food good served on best-service china provided by the hostesses. There is so much kind fellowship of that goes with all these events. Been a great blessing to my life. I think these events, as well as the altar society and the bookstore etc help keep Catholics alive and well for so long (at least that's the answer I come up with to the question, "Why are there so many old Catholics?")

Halloween for our family has always been great. Homemade costumes. Love the kids out and about, and tt's a time when fathers are present if at all possible. Families going out and about, parents and children getting to socialize. More so when we were kids it was like a nice informal block party. When we were WOW in Titusville FL I was especially reminded of this because the [mostly old people] residents parked themselves outside to watch the kids, of which our WOW bunch had four wonderful ones. Despite the often Christian focus on the devilshness of the time, I enjoy seeing so much happiness being shared, and think that is what really makes the devil mad.

Good gravy! I had always thought we were safe from lighting in our cars because of the radio antenna and the rubber tires.

Note: This is a tamed eagle, Lady, the artist grew to love, and that love, I think is in every stroke he drew. Thank you for the gracious elegance you give into the world, and especially for us here, for your kindness you give into the Greasespot Cafe. Hope your new year is better than ever.
