Are Sins Remembered in the New Body?
Kit Sober replied to JavaJane's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
John Bevere has a very un-twi view of life-after-death. I recommend "Driven by Eternity" and "Rescued" for some keen insights into a Biblical viewpoint you may not have explored heretofore. I only recently was introduced to this ministry, and haven't finished the books above noted, so i can't speak as though I have applied Acts 17:11 thoroughly here -- but it fits with the Scripture I thus far know. -
Are Sins Remembered in the New Body?
Kit Sober replied to JavaJane's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
my opinion: confession and repentence brings our sins under the blood and are washed clean. Those are the ones that are forgiven. "go and sin no more." "Let him that stole steal no more." I think Bible is pretty clear that a Christian is responsible to live a life that is worthy of the vocation wherewith we have been called. -
I'm not currently on his mailing list, but we have a cd class of his, and I like his stuff. (I look for the Holy Spirit life in people, and with that willingness to hear, I learn a lot from many different people, who during twi mind set I woud cast off as "not on the Word." Now i listen, and it's so much more rewarding.) In my opinion: Michael R O O D has great integrity and there is much love of the Lord (both to and from) in his works, in his commitment to serve.

There is a work of storing the good stuff of my life, and replaying the kindness in the archive of my heart, and Chris B*ard was a great.

Well I think those books should be better off being burned. (I'd hate to be party to spreading the filth those books promoted.)

Your kids will be so glad when you get very old for them :) Hope you have many more happy ones.

The absolutely nicest boss I ever had had MS (very advanced). He was so compassionate and un-arrogant and un-everything else that bosses can be to hurt you. He had his CPA and a lovely wife. We very loosely keep in touch and he sent pictures of his two children when they were born (both perfect). I consider working for him a highlight of my life.

a few points of forgiveness that are benchmarks for me (also affirms what others have said): :) "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do," has always been a benchmark for me for who-deserves-forgiveness. I have met no one who has done me worse than what people did to the Lord. :) I agree that you only have authority to forgive wrongs done to you; however, I would include public wrongs, wrongs to the Church such as vpw and lcm performed as they hurt all of us, as requiring me to give my personal forgiveness for their heinous crimes (I'm working at it. Not there, yet.) :) I think the context of forgiveness in which 2Co 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices - is found points out to me that to not forgive is the way satan gets avantage of us, and that satan's leading us to not forgive is his device, not the Lord's. :) Forgiveness is an act, a deed (in deed indeed). "Whatever" doesn't fulfill forgiveness. Forgiveness can only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit. On my own strength, I could not.

Another benefit of being out of twi-an honest obit
Kit Sober replied to Kit Sober's topic in About The Way
Just read about Steve Tully and Fred Brown. What a pile (it stinketh). Been reading "Rescued" by John Bevere, which reaffirms that it's the Lord who will be judging when we meet Him, not anyone else. Just Him. And we will all stand there and receive for what we've done with our lives. (There's something about giving account for every idle word.) Good gravy! -
Stress -- Relief I would say that the overall effect of Greasespot Cafe is stress relief and healing. :) You're not the lone ranger with troubles here. And my troubles may not be your troubles, but I do know that the Greasespot Cafe has been a source of comfort, healing and great overall stress relief. I've also been able to learn by the low-key social interaction of Internet communication. The trials of dealing with Some People are really small because you can just always hit the x to close and/or email Pawtucket or one of your other found-friends here. In hope and prayers with you and for you,

Moderators try to keep mudslinging out of here. Let them know first. (PM Pawtucket. He is as good as gold for taking care of things in a fair manner.) Hope you will keep your account until June 16th. We are praying for you and hoping for good test results to come back. Hope you will let us know :) Prayer thread for you

Congratulations!!!! (I had a baby on 5/14, and that is Mother's Day every so many years. It's great.)

Sins don't go away until they are confessed and covered by the blood of the lamb. Hope whoever killed her poodle takes this opportunity to confess and get right with God.

Kiss the cook (and the food will taste better and probably be better for you). :)

Charles and Frances Hunter invitation to ordination I think it's nice. Charles and Frances Hunter were there for Fred and Me when we left twi and started exploring other Christian options. (We got a lot of tapes and videos!!! New material to us.) They are so in love with each other, with the Lord, and they love to help God's people, and it's a joy to be around them. I think they are thinking only of helping people walk into their ministry.

how might we play at ways of being angels...
Kit Sober replied to sirguessalot's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
John Bevere made a most startling comment in a teaching I was watching from his website. He pointed out that we will be like Jesus when we get to heaven, and that there is an ongoing process of becoming like Jesus now. The Lord is working to make us like Him, and when there is a distinction between Jesus and us, the problem is always with us. Sometimes the chiseling process is painful to us, but the end product will be great! In hope, -
And a National Day of Prayer is quite a birthday observance! (And fitting.) God bless you always, in all ways, all your days, Sincerely and in hope,

Dear wrdsandwrks, Thanks so much for those kind words. I hope when I get to heaven (if), the Lord will agree. That's the test. to all: As with so many of the closed corporation attitude changes mentioned here, it is truly a challenge to retain the kindness of the Lord in a cross-religion environment. Part of my work is in Wendover NV, which is a surprisingly religious community, and have irritated a lot of people to the point of almost losing my job (I am hoping I am able to find the way to find favor with these people). I know it is possible to be a Christian in the world. But it is not without challenges. And I don't think you can remain a groupy exclusively because the Lord loves too many other people, and thinking like that always stuck in the craw of loyal twi people from the very beginning of my involvement (1972 I was witnessed to by Michael Martin). I like going to church, and have joined a bunch of them, but like mentioned by others, group members often want to own your soul as well. I have long thought that when the Lord told Jeremiah He would deliver Jeremiah, Jeremiah should have questioned the Lord as to what were these things the Lord was going to deliver him from. Also with Daniel and his bunch -- we would never even know their names unless they had been thrown to the wolves so to speak. So trying to be a good Christian has challenges, and I am not the first to discover this, but with the Lord, we can overcome them all. I am hoping that I will not be one of the ones sawed asunder, but I hear that martyrdom guarantees a place in heaven. I know the Muslims believe that too. Heaven will be interesting that's for sure! I agree with WordWolf on the living Christianity and humility that is found in the Catholic Church. I have been a practicing Catholic for about 12 years now, and going to that Church is still one of my favorites because of the lack of groupiness. I think being constantly reminded of the Passion of our Lord tends to keep one humble. In hope, and again, thanks, wrdsandworks. I also hope you enjoy your time here at the Cafe.

It seems to me that "thoughtlessness" goes with the cult mentality because there is no respect for anyone that disagrees with you, and therefore the other person is not worthy of the thoughts of your concern. I think this goes with shutting up your bowels of compassion, which is such a sin, and it creeps up so quietly. Because I have given a few of my tithe $ to various organizations I get tons of mail telling of this need and that need, all of which are legitimate and heart rending. It is tempting to ignore the cries and discard without even a prayer on their behalf because there are so many and there is a cost for every prayer. But I just never want to become spiritually constipated. I was thinking of how the Pope is trying to foster respect for other religions and how foreign that is to my thinking, but it's really nice: Being able to consider that people who don't agree with you are entitled not only to their beliefs but also respect with the same sanctity of god-created preciousness that we view those who agree with us. Mother Theresa was like that I think. In hope, trying to be a truly nice person,

Lake of Ozark or Missouri are low crime and high Christian influence (it seems to me a lot of Christian ministries are there.) Also Colorado Springs. That's where I would love to go. Beautiful place (near Pike's Peak where America the Beautiful was written). Also Focus on the Family and Messinger International, two wonderful Christian ministries are based there. (Nevada is "the most unchurched State in the Union." The ministers who make the circuits don't even come here. Really miss the nice events that Sacramento, Denver, Florida, and other places we lived have to offer.)

The Freedom Writers, with Hilary Swank, was to me a pretty monumental movie. (I missed it in the theaters and just saw it on dvd, so it's been out a while.) Hilary Swank plays a high school teacher who teaches her kids respect, sense of self-worth etc. in the tradition of "To Sir with love" and others, but the way she did it was monumental: She taught the kids that gang warfare was terrible by teaching them about the gang of the Nazi's, including having them earn the money to have a the woman who hid out Anne Frank come and speak in their class, taking them on a field trip to the Holocaust Museum, locating some other concentration camp survivors and having them come and speak to their class. The writing the kids did is "The Freedom Writers Diary," which was a NY Times best seller, which book I think should be a required reading in high schools today.
