EASTER STORY COOKIES To be made the evening before Easter You need: 1 cup whole pecans 1 tsp. Vinegar 3 egg whites pinch salt 1 cup sugar zipper baggie wooden spoon tape Bible Preheat oven to 300 degrees (this is important-don't wait until you're half done with the recipe)! Place pecans in zipper baggies and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested. He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read John 19:1-3. Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp. Vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given vinegar to drink. Read John 19:28-30. Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read John 10:10-11. Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. Read Luke 23:27. So far, the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16. Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents --in God's eyes -- the purity of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3. Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper-covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Read Matthew 27:57-60. Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF. Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Read Matthew 27:65-66. GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read John 16:20 and 22. On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter, Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. Read Matthew 28:1-9 Share The Easter Cookie Story With Friends and Family. SHARED BY WILMA

    One run two zoo

I was trying to remember the memory pegs. one run two zoo.. Any help here would be appreciated. (Trying to exercise my brain here and remember better.) Thanks,
  6. Just checking up on the depth of Bible knowledge in this place. Quiz to see if you are a Bible scholar or what. :)
  7. Haunting movie. Especially on the DVD, which has so much of the original story and background on the movie and the effort (and expense) of making a true story.
  8. Here's a story of what's going on tonite: News story of eclipse 2/20/08.
  9. Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could live up to them.
  10. Bowtwi: Plus the added thanks-for-life from the people whose lives were saved/improved by the use of the physical stuff mitigates the pain and grief of the aching heart. It's beyond words.
  11. Coolchef, My few scents: Memorial services are a place for people to say good by to one they love and will miss very much. A plot in a cemetery is a place people can go to pay respects (a debt of love that can never be repaid). Similar to the study aid of having a place for studying that we dont use for other stuff to help our mind know, "This is what we do here." I had a dear friend and it took so much for him to see how important it was to let others celebrate his birthday and give him birthday and Christmas presents because it gave us a chance to say, "thanks for the memories, we love you, and we are so glad you were born." :) Each person decides, and of course those who love you respect your wishes. YID, Thanks. My mom did that also, and my sister (a doctor) said that one example was that many lives were saved in the burn unit by her skin. And they paid the cremation expense and returned to us her ashes so we could have our services. Truly a last selfless act by a kindhearted person. (I wondered, though, when they worked on her heart, if they saw God in there Who was so precious to her.) In hope for a new body,
  12. Do you know how to find the path? (Will it be visible in Reno NV?)
  13. I had never heard this story before.
  14. So glad you found another friend. Such a precious treasure. I go with the "beauty in the eye of the beholder" on this one philosophy wise. Those looking for kindness and to spread that kind of stuff can find, and can do it. (I also have found precious treasures of connection on the Internet.) THose looking spread trash can do so as well. THere are plenty of hurtful things available and processable for those who want do use it for that. I have read the end of the Book and find the good guys win in the end. :)
  15. good food for thought. Thanks.
  16. Thanks for the poll. Good thoughts from it. I think Greasespot has been a big help in keeping me on the positive side of the "meaningful and purposeful" Thanks, again Pawtucket, et al :)
  17. The wavelit link does not work any more. Africam has pulled out of wavelit, so the links don't work. Africam has the live feed for norkho pan Africam web cam
  18. Worship for me is a matter of the heart. There was worship in twi by the worshippers. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not charity, it profits me nothing. In all churches I have been in some worship, some don't. I expect that those who do will be worshipping at the throne of the Lamb when He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

    Medical Question

Me, too. (My sister is a doctor, and after she was diagnosed with cancer, I have been learning each of us is called to do only what we can.)Still praying for you and yours :)
  20. Nice poll. Thanks for the work to put it together.
  21. And here I am begging you to remember that telemarketing jobs is a job that people with broken bodies and/or physical deformities can perform, and it may be the only job they can do. Sometimes people forget, "there but for the grace of God go I," when dealing with others less fortunate. I think cruelty is never a virtue. (And am so glad I can still voice an opinion here.) In hope, I remain,
  22. Thanks. I need this at work, and cannot download programs there. (I was hoping there was a way I could just change the "cell format" -- similarly to being able to change date format from mm/dd/yy to mmmm dd, yyyy.) Thanks, again for your time.
  23. and here's a Christmas story
