  1. Congratulations. It's nice to see you full of the hope and confidence that the taste of success brings. It's so good being on the train marked "Life." When I became certified as an internal auditor, it was the first thing satisfying I accomplished since taking pfal. Then I started a eCornell certification program in financial management. It's such a toot to feel like a Success is possible, and that we are contributing members of a society of which we are a part (and not apart from). In hope,
  2. Excie, Why don't you write a book. It would be terrific. We get so blessed by what you write here.
  3. Thanks. What about Karl Kahler's book? Isn't that on Amazon.com, too?
  4. I received an email that the Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes only a short time to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Feel free to pass it along to people you know. (And please let me know if this is a scam of some kind :) ) Animal Rescue Site Thanks,
  5. My most memorable is a door-to-door-with-group (don't remember where or when) and I had my two kids and no one wanted to go with us so we went off, they got ice cream and soda pop and the oldest who was missing super bowl got to watch the game. And I had a nice time talking about the Lord and His goodness and Grace (which I always love to do). (I told the kids that the Lord would bless them.)
  6. I had mine made into a really nice ring, and I wore it as a reminder to pray for the WOWs, past present and future. Now whenever I wear it I pray for all the wows, wherever they are, in hope they are having a good day in the sunshine of God's love and grace. (I think everyone who is trying to live for the Lord, no matter how misguided, the Lord enjoys, even He gets a good guffaw maybe at our antics.)
  7. And when he got to the health care professional's office, he saw her name written on the door he started to get well, and he said to her, "I knew you were the right doctor for me because you are adorable."

    Memorial Day

For me, I also consider so many of you who fight the fight of faith as soldiers, warriors in the eternal war against wickedness. You also I honor on this day and always.
  9. Thought you would like this. The last time I filled up I found I got 27 mpg instead of the car's normal of 21. Then I found this article in a Reader's Digest in the doctor's office yesterday that explained my increased mpg because I have been driving slower and always try to stay off the brakes and drive gently. Wayne Gerdes sounds like a nice guy. Hope you like it.
  10. Randy Pausch last lecture at Carnegie Mellon University May 19, 2008 Randy Pausch encourages graduates at Carnegie Mellon (6 minutes) Watching these videos has been life changing. Also I obtained an Internal Auditor certification a few days ago, and I realized it may be the first something I have achieved since taking the pfal class 39 years ago. Randy Pausch's words helped me understand this sweet spot of living, the passion of life people talk about but I could never relate to because of the cloud of the cult mentality, and other sense darkening things. I am thinking now those childhood dreams are achievable (I may be too old to be a professional ballerina, but I can still dance.)Thanks for your kindness of friendship and support. You mean more to me than you can know this side of heaven. Thanks, again,
  11. We still have "snow on Peavine" (the mountain you can see from here). Tomatoes in the house. Plenty of weeding to do. That's mostly what I do in the garden -- weed. Fighting the goatheads is a continual battle. My long-lasting rose (planted when we first moved here 15 years ago) didn't make it through the winter. But things are starting to sprout. IT's really tough getting things to grow here out in high windy desert high alkaline soil. Plus the guy who owned this place before us sprayed oil on the dirt to kill the weeds. But been mulching for years and things are growing now.

    sociopath

Reno Nevada has these people not only in the police force (See "Reno 911" which is based on acts of fact from my observations here), but also in the highway department. I am suggesting to the TV producers they include Reno highways in their program because we have some of the most expensive and miserable highway improvements imaginable here.
  13. And especially for those who can't drive over and see or pick up their cell and call up their moms -- You make a happy mothers day on a daily basis. I think that the good efforts put forth in the work done here on earth adds onto their heavenly crowns. I think that same smile of thankful kindness and enjoyment that mom would have when watching one of her kids race in a swimming meet, chop word or work on homework of different sorts would play on her face today watching what we do today. (I'm not at all sure about when she will see, but I know that she will at one time soon, very soon.) And Happy Mother's Day for all the work you have done for others and family and for God
  14. Still with hope and prayers for your sister, Raf.

He kicked me out of twi, for which I am forever grateful. Without that action on his part I may still be there. I pray for him, as I do for anyone who needs prayer.
  16. My heart goes out to Sandra's family. I hope they know that God is just and will avenge this wrong, as well as the others.
