Potential new President for TWI
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Thomas Loy Bumgarner's topic in Humor
I forgot that we voted Mr. Hamoroni as the new prez. Sorry about that Steve. Would you believe that I missed it by that much. God, I've got to stop watching so much TV and get a real, true life. -
OK once and for all
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to doojable's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Dear Mike, Allan, and Phil aka Oldiesman, what about the trilogy on Jesus Christ:JCNG, JCOP,and JCOPS? are they part of PFAL canon/writings? How do you reconcile PFAL in which Dr. Wierwille makes the following statement that Bar Mitsphah(?) is normally held at age 13, but bastardized boys are at 12? Considering that ceremony didn't start until about 1000 or later AD/CE and was a Jewish equivalent to Christian catechesism/confirmation. In Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed, there is no mention of that, but rather it is Passover and there is no questioning by the rabis or priests about the faith or having them read from the torah during worship either at the temple or any synagogue? Why the obvious contradiction unless Wierwille made a mistake in PFAL(both the video class and the orange book)? Unless Doc W. was quoting either the Mishnah, Talmud, or other non-biblical Jewish resource? Just wondering, that's all. -

And with that remark, Mr. Bumgarner, you have just derailed this thread. No one wants to hear your dribble. Besides, Mike, Allan, and Phil the oldiesman voted for you. "Say it, Anne". You are the weakest link. Goodbye and good ridance to this topic. Should have quit while I was ahead. -
This could be true for any backwards, out in the boonies church in the Southeast, particularly in the Appalachian Mountains where they serve moonshine for Communion.

Having met John Lynn at Mrs. Wierwille's funeral, he seems to have mellowed and was nice to me . I occasionally email him at CES/S&TIF.

As for the chicken or the egg coming first, doesn't a rooster need to be there along with a hen to make an egg? Also, didn't Joyful Noise answer this question @ PFAL'77?

A possible replacement could be Ann from The Weakest Link game show, with her firery red hair and snappy remarks. Who here thinks it takes a whole village to raise an idiot? And in that round Wayfers you only banked $0 for your team. So my Einsteins and rocket scientists. Rosie the riverter, get ready to walk down the hall of shame. You are the weakest link in this Way Tree chain. GOODBYE!

Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to fortunateone's topic in About The Way
Come to think about it , Ann from The Weakest Link would be an excellent replacment for Rosie the riverter, Since Ann seems to be in the Wierwilliean/Geer/Martinf**k mode. Harve, you are the weakest link. Goodbye! -
The info I got this past summer from the locals(won't mention names) was Ernst was an alcoholic(like Otto and VP), 6th grade education, physically battered and abused wife Emma Rein(in NC it is spelled Rhyne), and children Otto, Harry, Lydia, Sevillia, Victor, and Ruben. He supposedly had drinking buddies on Shelby County Sherrif's department who bullied the school principal(not supertendent as VP claimed)/algebra teacher and had him either resign or be fired by the school board. Wel, poor Victor couldn't go beyond what he was taught. Of course this is 2nd and 3rd hand information/rumor.

Eyewitnesses:twi from 1966-1975..your stories?
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to WordWolf's topic in About The Way
I was the son of a Lutheran pastor(now deceased) who did not hear of The Way until fall of 1972/spring '73 at Lenor High School when either Ron Schupping or Mike Tomberlin came witnessing during lunchtime. After 3rd day, the principal asked them not to come back or they would be arrested for tresspassing on school property. During this time, Contemporary Jesus music was for me Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Leonard Bernstein's Mass, We are one in the Spirit, You light up my life(Debby Boone), and Put your Hand in the Hand of the man who stilled the water. Only later in 1974 do I see the article in Life magazine about the Groovy Christians of Rye,NY. In the fall oor '73, as a freshman at East Carolina 2 days after arriving, that Saturday morning I go to the Student Union Center to see the cartoon version of Star Trek and meet Ginger Douglass, an artist and senior wearing low-cut mini-skirt/dress and flip-flops. We talk and she invites me back to The Way Home(wish I had taken her up on it, proably wanted to **** me) but decide to be a gentleman, though she invites me to Twig coffeehouse. I think it to be a nightclub for dancing and drinking. Boy, am I wrong and am jealous that other guys are hugging and kissing her(thought she was a prostitute with many clients), but find out it is a Bible study group. Almost freak ot when Doug Emmerson(or was it Randy Anderson) starts calling by name people to speak in tongues, and being afraid think he will call out my name. They show ROA film and 1st session of PFAL. I flunk out in Feb.'74, that fall I transfer to Appalachian State where I meet Steve and Ann Bolick, Steve McGee and get involved in twig. Sept. 1974, I meet Ellie Ray and Vicki Allen, Mickey Mahaffey, and Ralph Dubofsky. In Summer of 1975, I take PFAL foundational(intermediate is taken in '77). Year later go summer NCWOW and mett and fall in love with Pat Fetner, but never really got to date her.Still love Joyful Noise, Pressed Down, Good Seed, and the original Selah. That summer , we hear rumors that Craig will be next President and that Walter chose not to be Vice-president, future President-elect because Wierwille thinks he not tough and bitchy enough. In 1979, go to Hickory "Way Home"(not official). I serve on Bless Patrol at ROA'79, a month later have collapsed left lung (pneumathorax) and in hospital for 5 days, December I write letter in response to editorial in Charlotte Observer on TWI, defending them, Limb leader asks that I shut up since God needs no defenders and early Christian apologists thought they had to save and redeem Jesus on trial. I leave and do not attempt to reconnect until 2 years ago through GSC. -

Mark, as a Lutheran, I have respected Popes John 23rd, John Paul 2nd and Benedict 16th. I wish Vatican II had been the church council at the time of the Reformation. Then Lutheranism would have been like Franciscans or like the Eastern Orthodox tradition.
