By Your Command!  . I still say that all of them were Cylons despite how the ending went. I still say the writers should have shown all the present cast that they were not from Caprica(Lorne Green as Adama, Terry Carter as Tighe, And I wanted a "Daggett"/dog, Hera instead of Boxie?).

LIVING HOPE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to oldiesman's topic in About The Way
I agree with DWBH, if Vince came out and publickly appologized here on GSC and made contrition, and likewise the leaders of the other off-shoots on behavior/ethics and say the truth about VPW and that he was wrong on attitudes and that Wierwille should have footnoted/end notes at the conclusion of chapters or the entire book, or at least had done bibliography on PFAL, RTHST,ADAL, or the supplemental "collaterals"(btw an incorrect term), then we wouldn't care about their theologies/doctinal stances, provided they shared it with humility and acknoledge they could possibly be wrong. Grace and mercy to all. Thomas -
The Way GB said"Enough, Bumgarner". We have your bank records and gonna finacially bust you". I replied sticks and stones may break me bones but threats will never hurt me. Then the FBI, IRS, and other Feds attacked and said No Waco or Jonestown, arrest everyone . Rosilie, said "hey bro, don't Taz me". Then.....

Riverdance with Porky Pig for stealing VP O'Wierwille's pot of gold from ABS. Craig cried out as saying Rosie and Donna got me Lucky Charms. Then Chrissie Geer said    while Vicky Wierwille Drambuie. All of a sudden-

as I realized,"OMG! All the leaders were Cylons(By your command). Suddenly, I realized I had been watching too much BattleStar Gallatica and that this thread will end up in the Being Silly forum. End of Chapter 1.

You mean 991 years from now, otherwise it is 2100 AD.

fraking brains". All of a sudden the police and local Assistant DA arrested VP, Craig, Chris Geer, Donna, Rosie, and other staff for intimidation and harrassment. All were found guilty, put in jail, and the rest of the followers shouted "Hallelujah" The nightmare is over" Or was it? (to be continued)

Looking for 2 friends who were NC Minutemen with me in 1976, Thomas Harrihan and Curtis Hertwig whom I roomed with in Greensboro, NC. Unfortunately I had to leave the program shortly after the 4th of July because of losing 1 job and not able to get another. In 1979, from January until end of August(shortly after ROA), roomed with John Koch who was a designer for furniture. Oh, was living in Hickory at the time but returned to Lenoir living with my parents. Had a collapsed lung in late September and spent 3 days in the hospital. Chose to leave TWI at the end of December that same year. Anyone knowing the where abouts of the above mentioned, would be great. Thanks!

I have posted this before. Most came from 2nd or 3rd hand information from people in New Knoxville area and surrounding communities when I visited up there about 4 years ago around the time of Dorethea Kipp Wierwille's funeral(before and afterwards). Claim is Ernest Wierwille, VP's, etc. father was an alcoholic himself, physically brutalized wife Emma Rein Wierwille, raped daughters Lydia and Sevilla, beat the crap out of Victor, Harry, Ruben, and Otto, himself terrorized the community and had drinking buddies on the Sherrif's patrol. Hence, Vic ran away to the woods to escape his father's beatings for not doing chores or sassing him. Ernest even threatened the local school board if they did not fire the principal/algebra teacher for saying he would flunk VP(though it seems in reality he tried to help and mentor Victor). Supposedly, Victor Paul Wierwille could not go beyond what he was taught. Now, some might say why didn't VP, or Emma, or one of the other kids not kill Papa Ernest and claim self-defense. VP arrogance was bred into him. Sorry if this hurts Sarah, Mary, John Paul, Robert Edward, or the grandkids. If the information I got is wrong and libelous/defamatory, please forgive me. But someone please get the "Real" story on the ancestors. I don't care if it is CBS, PBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, or FOX News but let us settle this once and for all(without exception or distinction).

A Few Big Things I Learned Taking PFAL
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Doreen's topic in About The Way
David, if you read my profile and all previous posts, you would not be quick to judge. Yes, i believe Jesus to be my Lord, Master, Savior, and Redeemer. And yes, I am happy to be back in the Lutheran Church. True, Luther prefered Evangelical but the name stuck for 500 years. BTW, I am ELCA while Pastor John Juddes is LCMS. 2 out of a dozen Lutheran factions. Also I am on Facebook. The video classes I mentioned are 1000% better than PFAL or WAP. -
“What did you do with what you knew?”
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Wacky Funster's topic in About The Way
wacky, since I have joined GSC and didn't remember any posts you have done, I'll answer that now I am ashamed that I ever got involved with TWI, PFAL, etc. My life might have been so different; marriage/master's degree in music/children. so TWI, etc Satanicly damned me for 6 years. Should have stayed Lutheran during that time and regret my association with the cult. Only if I could replay my youth and never heard of The Way International, oh I would have been so much happier. Sorry if this was not what you wanted to hear. -
In addition to this thread, check out the others on hymnody(Reading Room) and Way Productions/Musicians to see what I and the others had to say.

The title "Power for Abundant Living"
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Bolshevik's topic in About The Way
Even this Wierwille "borrowed" the title from E. Stanley Jones called The Abundant Life as refering to the Ashram program in India, and Ruben Archer Torrey(Dwight Moody Bible Institute) wrote "Power Filled Living", now reprinted by Whitaker House, a charismatic publishing firm. -
Scientology bought out Cult Awareness group, so TWI is no longer considered a dangerous cult

The title "Power for Abundant Living"
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Bolshevik's topic in About The Way
The promises of happy lives and relationships with family and friends; physical and mental healing; everyone wealthy; peace of mind, etc. The Garden of Eden and Satan is destroyed(no more evil). VPW and the Bible replaced God and Jesus Christ. VPW was Elmer Gantry in person and CG and LCM his devilish spawn/clones. -
A Few Big Things I Learned Taking PFAL
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Doreen's topic in About The Way
Give me Nicky Gumbel's Alpha; Michael Green's Reality; Rob Weber's Beginings; Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life; Thomas Holiway's Foundations; Rico Tice's Christianity Explained; Paul Blackman's Open Home, Open Bible; Neil Anderson's Beta. But no PFAL, WAP, CFFM classes, nor S&TFI, no CR&F, no Chris Geer, no Emmaus Fellowship, nor any other splinter group's revision. -
Ted, you are one of the good guys of Way Prod. However , didn't Wow Records say that VP Wierwille, Harry, and Ermal Owens were the executive producers of Selah, Good Seed, Pressed Down, and Jpyful Noise; not you, Brian, Dean, Skip , Greg, Paul Vergillio, or the other musicians? I know that several of pieces have been re-recorded on CD's. Not sure if TWI still owns the copyrights or not, and whether you guys and ladies were compensated financially for your talented masterpieces. I would not be too harsh on Hillsongs, Casting Crowns, Don Moen, Bill Gaither, Chris Tomlin, etc. because it is not CFFM or S&TFI or other TWI splinter group understanding of scripture(accuracy). I believe VPW used to play the guitar in high school but was reprimanded by his father Ernest for doing so and never took the instrument to college. I don't know if he took piano lessons or not. TW:LIL, UH, Serving book by Mrs. Wierwille really don't give all the details on his life, much less on his interest in music and the fine arts.

Twinky, TWI and its splinter groups, along with United Pentecostal Holiness, Assemblies of God, and some Churches of God, Vineyard Ministries, etc would all say no tongues until Day of Pentecost. Therefore Jesus, John the Baptist, Mary, Old Testament Prophets/Patriarchs/Levitical priests did not speak in tongues or glossalia because that spiritual gift/manifestation was not available and in the near future will be stripped because of the Rapture/Gathering Together. Whether this is a true record is highly debatable.

The Thin Blue Line? -
Side note: Scholars now say the Lord's Prayer was universally accepted by 100 AD/CE not only as a model prayer, but the only real true prayer to be permanetly repeated and recited by all Christian believers. In fact some say as early as 60 AD it became a required part of both public/corporate worship and private devotions. Rabbis taught formula prayers to their students to be memorized. Whether Jesus wanted this or not, it became a fact and liturgical statistic. Whether it should have been or not is another question.

Chose to broaden the topic beyond SIT. Many like Paul Westermeyer, Luther Reed, Evelyn Underhill, Geoffery Wainwright, Frank Senn, Carl Halter, Phillip Pffateicher, Byron Stuhlman, Marion Hattchett, Lionell Mitchell, etc. wrote books on this subject. But the most interesting was by James F. White "Introduction to Christian Worship". Discussions include music, visual arts/architecture, liturgy/ritual, especially on Holy Communion, Baptism, Lent/Holy Week, Daily Prayer(Matins/Lauds, Prime/Midday, Vespers/Evening, Compline), ordination, weddings, burial of the dead, healing, lessons and carols, Stations of the Cross, Tenebrae, Lovefeast, Divine Praises, Preaching Services of the Word. Now whether you agree or not with the conclusions, I leave it up to you. Also the topic of hymnody as witnessed on Cynic's forum in the Reading Room(which most of you failed to participate).

P&W includes optional testimony/sharing faith story and possible altar call/issuing an invitation to salvation and discipleship. Often powerpoint is used with lyrics from Christian Music DVD's(Integrity's Worship Together, Maranatha, WOW Worship. John Tesh, Songs 4 Worship, etc.). Sometimes drama/skits are utilized. Both this option and definitely Seeker do not use Confession of Sins nor offering(tithe/abundant sharing). Apostles Creed or other 20th Cent. statements of faith may be used. Lord's prayer is not and usually no benediction/blessing. Seeker is non-congregational, more audience of spectators and observers, little or no participation. Liturgical preaching is exegetical while the other 2 structures/formats are didatic/expostion/explanation oriented. Communion is limited to baptised(water or spirit) Christian believers and life-long disciples and usually closed off to non Christians. Traditional is European based with pipe organ, recorders, brass, string orchestra, handbells, vested/robed choirs and clergy, candles, visual art, etc. Praise is jazz/rock/pop/folk music with guitars, percussion, synthesizers, maybe saxophones, etc. 2nd and 3rd options are due to MTV/VH-1.
-
I am bringing this back up. Greg Scheer, Timothy and Janet Wright, and Andrew Langford mention 3 types of worship. !. is Liturgical/Ritualistic(Eastern Orthodox, Catholicism, Lutheran, Episcopalian/Anglican)-either Daily Prayer Office or Weekly Holy Communion(Entrance/Gathering, Proclamation of Scripture, Response/transition, Invitation to the holy meal, sending forth). 2. Thematic/Worship and Praise-Christian believers who had no been connected with church in maybe 10 years. 3. Seeker/Searcher/Inquirer/Outsider/Visitor- Other religions(Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, etc.) or agnostic/atheistic who are spiritually hungry. The 2nd option is also called frontier revivalism. What say you all?

George, I'll give the Answer but as for posting I've got leak of water at the meter and got to get a plumber to dig out the system(it's on my side and not the city water main). Answer is Battle Star Galatica. clue skin jobs refers to human appearing Cylons. oh, by the way all the characters are Cylons based on race memory of the orignal series(where it will be shown that Edward olmos is not Adama but rather Lorne Green).sorry for the spoiler.
