The Way Woods,The Way International
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to frank123lol's topic in About The Way
According to VP and maybe Uncle H, wasn't this the supposed sacred place where St. Victor of Wierwille preached to the birds and animals, rocks and trees? oops, that was St. Francis of Assisi and Billy Graham. Proably hid there to escape farm chores and Daddy Ernest's threats of spanking. btw, Wierwille never ran away to the circus, just brought one called ROA. Hi Mr.Linder. -
The Way Woods,The Way International
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to frank123lol's topic in About The Way
Actually there are mountains in Southern and Eastern part of Ohio, or rather foothills from Appalachians(KY and WV do border the state). -
Statue of Wierwille and icons, eh photos of trustees. I was going to say how "catholic" but didn't want to hurt Mark O'Malley's feelings.

What was LCM's ministry supposed to be
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to mchud11's topic in About The Way
LCM had the ministry of a bufoon, clown, and court jester all rolled up in one like Heath Lodge's Joker from Batman: The Dark Knight. -
You mean word over the World/VPW Auditorium doesn't have them?
-
Where did Wierwille get big top circus tents? Was ther a deal with Ringling Brothers/Barnaum and Bailey?

What is your PERSONAL experience with wierwille
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to excathedra's topic in About The Way
Wierwille could be nice to people when it suited him, publicity wise. I once sent him some hymns revised to Way doctrine like Church's One Foundation. He replied through Dorothy, "thank you for your concern. Maybe in future edition of Sing Along The Way, wemay use them". Unfortunately, they never did. He once visited Burlington, NC and I spoke to him, saying that for their next vacation to visit the Blue Ridge. He thanked me and that was it. In 1979 at ROA, I was singing in The Way Chorale Internationale and he stopped by to say we were better than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. If only I had know the truth I now know. -
I huntin wadies, hehehe.

Frank, it is spelled "Lutheran".

Bugs Bunny would be proud of you. btw maroon is similar to burgundy, but WB could not say moron without being sued for bad language.

Paw, I am not receiving email notices on topics I either have started or replied to posts. Can't find email notification button.

all 3 are now on CD. Ithink TWI, CFFM, S&TF, etc. focus more on doctrine and will mention SIT/glossalia which might upset some CCM fans of which some will and others don't speak in tongues. Always thought it gutsy and arrogant to imply do it or you ain't a true Christian. How do I compare Rueben Morgan's My Redeemer Lives to Good Seed's God resurrected Christ his Son? Both are fine until the line I speak in tongues. Again Eagle's Wings(Hillsongs or Michael Joncas) as oppossed to Pressed Down's version. That line SIT, bit off standish/smug. Sorry Ralph, Paul and Joe but the above mentioned sentiment is true.

Great Ceasar's Ghost -
Any way these posts can be added to the others?

ok porta potties and local ground water stank, and Martindale threw a temper tantrum, oops teaching morning noon and night. How about the great sleeze ball and founder/CEO(?)/ former Prez, the unhonorable VPW? charging admission for a week of music and food? (See previous post about local rally). Does anyone know if they rented the circus tents from Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Baily in Florida? and do you think older Way Productions could compete with today's CCM groups mentioned in the first post of the topic?

what did they put in those WOW hamburgers? btw, today my church had an evangelism rally at local neighbor hood park and had free food and music, no pay admission. Maybe 100 plus came out, shared about our various ministries but no preaching or bible study, just a good time, no pressure(or screaming/shouting nor cursing out other Christian denominations for having different beliefs from us) or arrogance(know it alls). There have been other Christian Music Festivals like Sonshine(different states)that were in existence from 1970's on today. After seeing recent Way Productions(religious Lawrence Welk but not even that good, lol)videos, far cry from the 1970's or today's Contemporary Praise Music scene. If ROA had not been a mind/spirit induced like drug fantasy, and had truely inspired people to work with other Christian groups instead of us vs. them mentality, who knows? maybe real miracles of healing?

It's August, hot, sticky, afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Time to go down memory lane, yes Rock of Ages. I know, we have done this topic to death. Part county/state fair, part carnival/circus, part tent revival/campground meeting/evangelistic crusade, and part Woodstock/Christian Music Festival(Sonshine). I wonder how Selah, Good Seed, Joyful Noise, Pressed Down/ Shaken Together/Running Over would compare to Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Darlene Zchesch and Ruben Morgan(Hillsongs), David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Brian Donerksen, Rebecca St. James, Casting Crowns, Newsboys, Sonic Flood, delirious?, etc. Pay attention to the phrase carnival and circus. We were deceived by fraudelent means through food, music, and supposed proclamation of the Gospel. It was well meaning, good(even best of) intentions, but no guarentee of the truth. Ironic, isn't it? 1 of the few truisms that Wierwille spoke. Comments welcomed

It's mid August, hot and frequent afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Ah yes, time to go down memory lane and relive Rock of Ages. Part county/state fair, part carnival/circus, part tent revival/camp ground meeting/evangelistic crusade, and part Woodstock/Sonshine Festival. How naive we were, deceived by food and decent Christian(Jesus People Folk music). Then Bless Patrol/Homeland Security popped up(Big Brother). Way Productions from 1979 on is more like Lawerence Welk(wonder how they would view Hillsongs(Darlene Zchevchk and Ruben Morgan), Chris Tomlin, Don Moen, Toby Mac, Brian Donerksen, David Crowder, Brenton Brown, Lincoln Brewster, Rebecca St. James, Casting Crowns, delirious?, Sonic Flood, Paul and Rita Balooche, Newsboys, etc.). Any comments, pro/positive or con/negative? I know, we have had this discussion before.
