Change of Heart?
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Tzaia's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
Robert , thanks for the correction. Remember that the Gospels were written later from about 75 AD on, after the Epistles, then Acts(which may have been mergered with Gospel of Luke). -
after I left TWI, I slowly stopped SIT. Then 10 yeqrs ago I took the video class Alpha taught by Anglican priest Nicky Gumbel who was influenced by the late Episcopalian priest Dennis Bennett and Vineyards founder John Wimber. Their books as well as those by Smith Wigglesworth, Lester Sumerall, Sam Storms, David Ireland- all talked about the gifts/"manifestations" of the Holy Spirit. And yes Jock Edwin Stiles, Lee Vale, and Brian George Leonard's books all mentioned similar ideas on tongues and interpretations(rarely was the person doing glossalia suppose to interpret which someone else was required to do). Interestingly, Peter Wagner claims there are actually 29 such phenomana including the arts(music, drama, poetry, and visual like architechual).

Change of Heart?
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Tzaia's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
interestingly, when Paul wrote that to Timothy, it was refering to the Tanak(Torah/Pentetuch, Nephilim/prophets and history, and Ketubim/Psalms/Proverbs/Song of Solomon/Ecclesiates), not the New Testament gospels, Acts, epistles, or Revelation which he, Peter, James, and John saw only as commentary and not equal to the Old Testament. -
just got through listening to CD's of Selah, Good Seed, Dean Ellenwood, Ted Ferrell, Cliff Adelman and downloaded Bandbox(Pressed Down)and noticed that some of the songs were about SIT, Wierwille, PFAL, or Way Corps. Strange, I don't remember Bill Gaither, Don Moen, Paul and Rita Balooche, Hillsongs, Casting Crowns or other CCM artists mentioning speaking in tongues in their songs, or praising clergy like Brian Houston, Joel Osteen, etc. for leading them to Christ. Surprising they either talk about God and/or Jesus, or Holy Spirit(despite Bullinger they believe God literally gives himself as both Giver and Gift simanteanously).

I knew Vickie and husband Ellie Ray Allen from Appalachian State University days. They still live in NC in Creedmoor, northwest of Raleigh.

have visited western Mass.

Geisha, thanks. I enjoy Beatles, Monkees, Simon and Garfunkel, early Rod Stewart(thinking of Maggie May), Selah, Pressed Down, Good Seed, plus many more. love the view

Your mission, if you accept it is to infitrate Greasespot Cafe as someone who was fired from The Way International and wants to spill the goods on the organization. Should you or your team be waterboarded by other Christians including LCMS pastor John Juddes, the Board of Directors will disavove any involvement, and will "mark and avoid"/disfellowship/excommunicate you from the Body of Christ. This CD will explode in 10 seconds. Good luck, Chuck! (We're marching to Zion, beautiful Walls of Zion).

you mean Roslie, Donna, Chuck, and Howard aren't going to be the new maid service @TWIHQ? OMG!

know of this book because Glenn Beck recommends it. So Wierwille really was in reality a socialist/communist, despite his John Birch mentality?
-
at least James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince can dance, unlike a certain group called The Present Truth from an organization called TWI <_<

Name that TV Show [EZ quotes only]
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Raf's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
I won't give the answer. However if you can tell me how to get Wikiquotes from TV shows, I promise to play fairly. Deal or no Deal?(sorry, saw Howie Mandel on America has talent). -
saw last night's Amy's Choice. Is the Dream Lord the Valeyard(Colin Baker's Trial of a Timelord) or from Patrick Troughton's Mind Robber/ Master of fantasy? or was it really only space dust? Reminds me of 1st Doctor, Susan, Ian Chesterton, and Barbara Weight's paranoia just after the first Dalek story? ah, seems only like yesterday when that happened. rotfalmao. btw, I am told the Silurians are to be the next story. not seen since Peter Davison.

I left TWI in December 1979, which means last ROA was that August and Stevie Kay was planning to leave JN after producing her solo album. Agape outside of Fireside Song was boring. After America Awakes album, Way Productions went downhill. Wish there had been more rock style music and to H@!! to the Vickster.

why is jethro Tull trying to do a yoga position while standing? Could it be DRUGS!?(imagine Dana Carvey's Church Lady).

the blond lady looks like she is ready to cry. Strange, early WP singers did smile. btw, I assure we choir directors are not dragons and we do not bite. well, with no diseases

In Christ alone my hope is found-Stuart Townsend and Keith Getty.

some of the songs were excellent, especially Brian Bliss and Dean Ellenwood. Others were too corny and were not of the same quality. Paul Vegillio's first 2 albums were good. Pressed Down went country in Heartbeat. After America Awakes and 1976, felt more Lawerence Welk/Mitch Miller/Johnny Mann. Nowhere close to CCM in the last decade.

Geisha, I think you meant Lady Gaga, though she is quite leggy. lol
-
was refering to High Country Caravan not being in the same league as the above mentioned groups/people music-wise.
