Rottiegrrl, I've never been to a dog park, so I don't know what the debate is there--seems like a cool idea. But it does seem ya can't really trust what another dog's owner will tell ya about their dog. Dot, that story is so sad! I always pick up my Moses when he's around big dogs cuz he thinks he's ferocious!! LOL!

Awww Dovie, I'm a day late and a dollar short! Happy Birthday, anyway and (((((HUGS))))))) to you! -
Yeah, my Isaac is 10 years old today!!! It's hard to believe how fast the time went. We had a wonderful day--I had some errands to run and everywhere we went I told em it was his Birthday-- so he got a lot of well-wishes!!! Later He and my hubby played games (OH how he LOVED having Dad to himself-- and repeatedly reminded little brother he got Dad to himself!! LOL! It was a sweet day. Every chance we got, we told him what a special gift he was (I know all babies are special, but I had lost 6 babies before him, and had resigned myself to probably never having babies--then i got this "lingering flu" --which we named Isaac 7 months later!! LOL!) At dinner, we allowed the boys their much-begged for "Barbarian night". They didn't have to use utensils--and I had served mashed potatoes and gravy--and, of course chocolate icecream with cake for dinner. WHAT A MESS!!! LOL!!! Just had to share what a cool day it was!!! I'm a happy Mom!! :)--> :D-->

Pardon my ignorance, but all I know about are yahoo and hotmail-- I hate hotmail! I know there are others out there, but I hadn't needed them in the past, so i didn't pay attention. Also can anyone tell me about free internet services? (My hubby has been outa work since January and I am trying to cut out extra spending) I have used netzero-- it's okay, but it has an advertising box that ya can't move anymore-- I liked it better when i could choose to move it.

BARF Diet for dogs. Anyone have info on this?
Psalm 71 one replied to RottieGrrrl's topic in Pet Affection
Rottiegrll EWWWWW! LOL!!!! That barfing guy is really funny! Dot, thanks for the reminder that calling food "People food" is so discriminatory against the pets we so love! My puppy loves the carrots-- he loves butter, too! LOL! (we give both him and the kitties a lick of butter about 2-3 times a week-- seems to make their coats nicer. Although from what I'm reading, I think I oughta look into flax seed oil-- wouldn't hurt the peopleiods in our home, either! LOL! Rottie, i thought the Canidae website sounded pretty good, too, and i really would have tried it for my pets if I coulda found it. I AM going to check into the wellness brand though, cuz the stuff i have doesn't say human grade foods. I am really saddened to read about the kitty vaccine and the tumors. I lost a beloved kitty when he was 12 yrs old to a rapidly forming tumor in his tummy. we discovered it too late and he was gone quickly. Some pets worm their way deeper into your heart than others, even though ya love them all. This kitty was one of those heart grabbers. Made it even harder cuz he died on my birthday 3 years ago. :(--> I have to go read something lighter before i go to bed tonight or I'm gonna have sad dreams about him tonight-- that really hit me hard tonight, realizing maybe he woulda/coulda lived longer . . . :(--> :(--> :(--> -
Dot, I enjoyed that! It was cute! I didn't have Moses (my puppy) come watch, though! LOL! I did "chase him" with a hand-held mirror today, tho-- it was HILARIOUS!!! He first wanted to sneak up and sniff thsi "New" dog. then i made the mirror jump closer to him and he backed off--then the diggy in the mirror proceeded to advance on him while he backed up-- and eventually RAN!!! LOL!! I am sooo mean!!!

BARF Diet for dogs. Anyone have info on this?
Psalm 71 one replied to RottieGrrrl's topic in Pet Affection
'SCUSE ME! whatindaheck is the BARF diet? LOL!!!! Dot, I went to the site about Canidae and Felidae-- it read so well, I couldn't wait til I could pick it up for my kitties/puppy. It ISN'T AT PETSMART!!! LOL!! I called a couple feed stores and they both say they don't carry it anymore-- customers brought the bags back because their animals didn't like it! akkkk! I picked up something called sensible choice for dry food for both. It is made by Royal Canin. I didn't see anywhere where it says "people grade" though, but it has no preservatives, etc. My hubby insists the kitties HAVE to have canned food. He buys Friskies from the groc store! I told him about the ikky stuff being found out about groc store food, and he siad yuck-- and next time he went shopping, forgot all about it and bought them more of the Friskies!!! LOL!!! I am experimenting around for a canned food that is healthier, AND that they like--so far, the healthy stuff I have bought, they have turned their noses up at. i just picked up "Nutro natural choice". We haven't given it to them yet. and i don't see where it says people grade meat! (Both this dry food and this canned food have given websites on the bag, guess i need to go there) -

Suze, the meranque on my face is great for my youthful complexion, the whipped cream in my hair has given it great volume-- but the peanut butter on my knees is makin it hard to walk around!! LOL!!! Happy Happy Birthday Kit! Thanks for all you contribute here! You are loved! -
Dot, the advice ya gave about the people-grade food for dogs, I'm sure holds true for cats, too. With this dry food you are talking about, does it have to be refrigerated? Could i leave it in their dish for them to much on throughout the day as I do with their Iams? If we fed em table food, wouldn't the majority have to be meat? My cats don't like people grade tuna!-- not even the expensive white tuna! Go figure! Actually, they are both 11 months old right now, and beg a lot for food, even though their dry food dish is always full. Their food is Iams kitten and i guess it isn't filling them enough anymore. But they are REALLY picky about eating stuff we give em from the table. (Yes, adults and children alike throwing bits of our meat to the kitties as they beg-- spoiled brats!! LOL)

The way to wash a cat is to place em in a clean toilet, push the lid down quick, sit on it and FLUSH!!!! :D--> :D--> OH DON'T WORRY! they're too big to go down the drain!! LOL (Okay, I never did it that way!! LOL) Dot, a male cat i had a few years agao, was a 22lb moose! he was fun to wash!! LOL! (ONce ya got all four feet pried off the edges of the tub at the same time) We were always completely soaked afterwards, he was funny!! HAHAHA!! His 14 lb sister was something else-- we eventually started taking her to a groomer-- and never asked how it went when we'd see their bandages!! ;)--> LOLOL!!! (We actually called first and told em her personality-- and they would tell us whether or not they could handle her. I finaaly found a guy who could handle her-- he was faster than her while getting her outa the carrier (she would even bite US when we would try to get her out any other place than home) He was a God-send! And i'm sure he was thankful we only took her once or twice a year! LOL After her bath, she would be a bitch for about 24 hours, then she would go back to her sweet little self.

My kitties are indoor only, Rottiegrrl so they won't chase your birds! PROMISE!!! LOL! :D--> I had declawed my last two cats, these i just never had the money lying around to declaw em, and now that they are almost a year old, i kinda feel like it would be mean. Cept the female can come running up the steps, grab either side if the bedroom door-jam and leap up and hang about 3-4 feet up. then she slides down-- ya oughta see what the door frame looks like! --> It's a good thing she's so cute cuz she's TOOPID! The male is VERY lovey-- loves his ears scratched and will rub against us and head-butt for lonng times! He also sits on my boys' school work while we are doing school-- the brat! I love my cats, too and wouldnt trade em either-- still want a dog, but know that will be a lot more work than the kitties. We had to put that whole idea of getting the dog on the back burner for awhile til my hubby gets a job
