  1. David, nope, we're not sisters, but we fight like we are! She started it! ('Sides that she hit me back first!) :P--> (Shhhh! don't tell anyone I miss her, though)
  2. act2 and Kathy a pt is waitin fer ya! :D-->
  3. How 'bout a vintage(?) wedding dress (about 1947 or so) Dress, slips, train, headpiece & veil, shoes, etc Really good condition! I know you asked for hats, but in a booth like yours, would you run across people who were interested in a wedding dress? If so, email me ( Psalm71one@excite.com ). Bear in mind I may not answer right away-- slow typist and not online every night. Thanks
  4. Are thay gone? Are ya sure? OKAY THEN! ANNOUNCEMENT!!! MA ALWAYS LOVED ME BEST AND I AM THE CUTEST! hahahahahaaaaa! :D--> :D--> (((!'s))) You will be missed, and I betcha you'll be back sooner and oftener than ya think-- I thought I left, too! LOL!
  5. I loved it!!! I had a cat that used to chase the cursor on the screen, too--would keep her-- AND THE BOYS! entertained for a loooonnnnggg time! (Chas, ya got a cat? mebbe you can entertain both Kristopher and the cat! heehee) My cat now just wants to sit on the keyboard!! BRAT!
  6. thank you, Steve I looked back several pages, but I don't remember the title I am looking for--I think I did read it some time ago, but don't know where it is. WordWolf, I don't think it's ZA that doesn't work for me, I think it may have something to do with this computer's operator, but, shhh! don't tell anyone!!! heehee! I think if i am going to have a free firewall with my router, ZA's probabaly as good as any, but why do I need another firewall if the router is supposedly a forewall?
  7. AWWWWW Dove, why'd ya post the pic of my house?? Really, the nice people told me kudzu is a beatiful flower and that I'd never have any trouble having to re-plant it or anything. Such nice folks around here!! :D--> http://www.cptr.ua.edu/kudzu/images/kudfield.jpg
  8. Well, my new home, that is, outside Atlanta! I found my 'puter! heeheehee! :D--> WHITEDOVE! NO!!!!! stay away!! EWWWW! BIRD poop! Groann! now I have to step carefully 'tween the boxes cuzza all this mess! Anyway, we really like it here. It's so nice to have a whole house and not hear the neighbors bumping on the walls. AND A YARD!! a real yard!!! My hubby and I are fightin over who gets to do what with the yard! I wanna plant flowers out front, he wants green bushy things! I want a swing in the woods, he wants it somewhere else. The boys are planning (several) forts out in the woods. . . I still haven't found my tea spoons or dinner knives! (I didn't remember packing the flatware in separate boxes! LOL!) Or the can opener. Good thing I had a "emergency box" with supplies for power outages or other disasters, and I had a manual can opener. I've been reading the news in the open forums-- 'bout Grandma Shellon, and Mr and Mrs Oakspear-soon-to-be, and The ! anniversary. Geo Arr speaks in tongues now? hmmm!! :P--> I can't find Raf's countdown thread, so I don't know what he was counting down to. Gotta go, I'm gonna go plant some kudzu! heeheehee!
  9. We FINALLY got cable internet connection! We've just moved to outside Atlanta and the dial-up was horrible!! (24. . . bps or whatever) AKKKK! Anyhoo, I had never reinstalled ZoneAlarm after a freind had worked on my puter last summer, and figured I better do that first thing when the cable went on. I've had a few glitches with that--like it won't find any web page until I allow Internet Connection Sharing to be enabled. Comcast says it's a ZA problem, not theirs! My hubby is still on the dial up because we haven't bought the wireless router-thingy so he can connect, too. The friend who is going to set that up for us tells me I can delete ZA once the router goes on, since that is a firewall, too. Is taht true? and is wireless connection really safe? Wouldn't someone be able to hack into our connection more easily?
  10. Moving day is tomorrow!!!!! We are all running around like loonies here! (Excited, not frantic--everything is ready!) We are disconnecting the puters this afternoon, and won't arrive in GA til late Tuesday or early Wed. Move in day is Thursday. Who knows when we will actually set up the puter. Good thing I'm not as addicted to the puter as I once was!!! WHITEDOVE! STAY AWAY FROM OUR MOVING VAN!!!! I don't want birdpoop all over our stuff! Raf, I won't be able to see what your countdown is gonna be! wahhh! Duviie-girl-- don't trip over that box-- OOOPS! TOO LATE!!!!
  11. That immediate creamtion makes me go hmm, too. Why? could he be hiding something? GS, you are so right, He will have to answer to God one day. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
  12. Rottie you asked I'm sorry I don't remember where I saw this article, but I read on a "right to die" site, (They want legalization of Physician assisted suicide, etc), that removal of a feeding tube is a horrible way to die. Sorry I don't have a link--maybe someone can do a search on right to die sites? I won't be able to--I probably won't be in here for at least a week, as moving day is Monday and i still have stuff to get ready tomorrow. My own opinion of this--I don't know for sure which side is right. Did Terri really tell her husband she'd want to be taken off life support? The witnesses are Mike's family! hmmmm! Or are Terri's parents the ones way off base? I tend to lean towards the parents than the so-called "loving husband"--ya know, the one that has another "wife". Whether or not she Really is in a persistent vegatative state, again, I don't really know. I lean towards the reports that say she is responsive. (Yes, even after the pictures of Terri's brain-- again, reading other Dr's comments as to this water. . .) But being starved and dehydrated to death is inhumane to me-- vegatative state or not. Criminals on death row, or pets get "put to sleep" painlessly, but if someone decides your quality of life is bad, due to brain damage, well, we can starve that one? hmmmm I don't remember who said the "yabbut" to Bowtwi's comment to Terri's feeling pain during her period, stating that if her brain has deteriorated so much that she's feeling no pain nowadays-- WHat if that is just spin? Totally inhumane!!!! And even if Terri isn't feeling pain-- what about the others who have been pulled of their feeding tube--or others after her? What if THEY CAN feel the pain? INHUMANE AND INSANE!!! I don't believe this whole thing is about Terri, Mike or Terri's parents--it's about anybody from here on where someone else can decide whether another person's quality of life is "good enough" and whether we can let them die in such a horrible way. I think we are on a slippery slope--But that's not news to me IMO -->
  13. Thanks again, for all your comments and stories--I cry about other people's pets dying too! darn those little furry critters fer crawling into your hearts like they do! but I could never have a "petless" home--it would be missing some warmth. Kevlar, sorry for the empty hole in your home right now. My boys keep talking about how kelly must be sooo happy in her new home by now. . . I pretend that she's in a new home to them, too, but I figure it isn't true-- I went to the website of the shelter and she's not listed as one of the cats up for adoption. I can't talk much to them about how much I miss her--glad I can come here to dump! I just dumped in an email to a friend, figuring this thread was on the second page by now! My hubby was able to shut down his emotional attachment to her way back when we'd decided we were gonna take her there-- I couldn't--I tried to, as she'd peed in a box I had just packed, but then she did her little rolly-"lookatmeimcute" thingy a couple hours later and how could I be mad at her? (it helps when ya can't smell, I guess!) Hawk, She wouldna been happy to run outside anyway-- she was a scaredy-cat! But we'll come run around yer 26 acres when we go through KY on our way to Mi from now on!
  14. Satori, this is always a good point to bring up once in awhile--maybe some folks will do even one more thing to be prepared if necessary. dmiller, that is cool about the security, and so maybe it won't come via major ports, but I do believe 911 wasn't the last. (I don't beleive in a "Pretrib Rapture", which i guess I'd have to post my "whys" in doctrinal if I were to 'splain) That is why i do what I can with laying up supplies. My hubby isn't in full agreement with me, so I can only do so much. I almost always have a pantry that might give us 3 weeks to a month of food, keep a freezer, but anyhting there would be worthless in a power outage. I have an "emergencies" box that is set us for about one day's worth of power outage, and would have more, but once again, have to go with what my hubby agrees with. I do lay up water in used soda bottles and figure it could be a bargaining "tool" if necessary. I change the water out about once a year--can't seem to get to it every 6 months. Having to dump those and eat up all the canned goods for the move, leaves me sweating a bit! LOL! The only thing I don't have is a gun. When I'd approached my brother about teaching me how to shoot, he asked me why i wanted to learn. I told him for protection. He asked me if I could REALY shoot someone, and I had to admit I didn't think I could. So when I read Pmosh's post, it reminds me of the futility of storing up too much stuff because he's not the only one out there that thinks that way. It's kinda typical of his gereation. I'd be storing it up so they can shoot me and live another day themselves til they shot the next prepared person. So I guess it's okay that I don't spend as much as I would like to for food storage. As to mass exodus, I don't know, guess it depends on the why as to whether to hop in my car to sit on a freeway and honk at the next 50 miles of backup in front of me!
  15. Thank you all for the hugs and prayers, this was a hard decision. Allan, at first ya made me smile, but then I thought, "but I LOVE Kelly" WW, I beleive that too, we've prayed for her--that she doesn't suffer with too much confusion and that someone will be willing to take her and do the extra work she needs. All I can see right now is her little face, looking up at me from her carrier as they took her away. She was meowing with her big scared eyes, and I was holding onto the door of her carrier, crying. The guy had to tug a bit to take the carrier away. I hope I NEVER have to do that again. I came home and shut down--went to bed and cried and slept and cried--I had to hide from the kids, cuz my 7 yr old, Ben wanted to believe Kelly was really happy there with the new cat friends she'd made. :(--> I think this is worse than when our old cat, Stella died. She was 14 years old and her heart gave out, we had to put her down because she was suffering.
  16. I've posted before (Long time ago) about my calico cat, Kelly. She's a gorgeous cat, part Himalayan/part dsh and part brainless. We got her 4 yrs ago when she was about 5 weeks old and she's been off-again, on-again on thin ice since. She pees in places other than the litter box. She can't handle car rides (Cries incessantly) Today we are taking her to the Humane Society. We had made this decision 3 weeks ago, knowing she wouldn't do well on the trip to GA, but giving it time, in case we could find another solution. We tried finding her a home, but we couldn't lie about the peeing thing. we'd talked to the vet-- nothing wrong with her, it is a behavioral thing. My hubby didn't want to spend and arm and a leg on her--(we're still distrusting over the way the vet bills ran up with our last two cats when we'd had the fire--$2300, with a 10% discount-- whoop-tee-doo. Then the male cat died two months later anyway, from a tumor that was there-- and noticeable, even by me, while they were treating him for the resulting pneumonia from the fire) We feel we have exhausted the choices, waited 3 weeks after coming to the decision we would take her to the vet for a shot to put her to sleep, or the Humane Society--gave it time in case we'd find any other solution, and today's the day :(--> My 7 yr old is bawling his eyes out. My 11 yr old and I are taking her to have the closure, but it is going to be hard. I've never had to do this before. We had another cat that peed, but we kept her anyway, it's the combination of the peeing AND the move-- Kelly's inability to tolerate the car ride, that pushed us in this direction. I feel judged by some animal rights folks I had spoken to (and if ya asked these folks, they probably didn't think anything of taking a brain-damaged PERSON off her feeding tube to starve her to death ) This wasn't an easy decision to make. it is one of the hardest things we've done. :(-->
  17. Jardinero, Happy Birthday to you, too! Congrats on your new job-- How cool is that? Yay God!
  18. Shell, yes, I did know it's National Pig Day on my birthday--I almost came online that day to post that it was National pig day! LOL! Zshot, my pigture didn't show up in my post-- bummer!! It is at Groink.net Gangster pigs (I asked permission from the site owner, but her site didn't allow linking from it--she's gonna have a section dedicated to people whose birthdays are on National pig day and she invited me to be in on it! heeheehee!) Thank you too, 'Tilda, Kevlar, StrangeGuy, Herbiewan, dmiller, tcat, Onion Eater and Jardinero (Is your's March 1st, too?) and Cindy! HEY! Nu-uhhh! Mom always likes me best, and here's some chocolate icing-- FLING! SPLAT! OH YEAH!!!! right on the nose! haha!!! My family brought me breakfast in bed. (I was sweating profusely as Ben carried in some grape juice over our cream colored carpet in the house we just sold and are trying to keep clean for the buyers. . . ) It was a sweet morning. then the day went downhill (Not even gonna talk about it! LOL!) Then we went out to dinner and it was sweet again. My hubby had invited my neighbor and best friend along, (She's one of those neighbors you'd want to take along with you when ya move, and I am gonna miss her terribly)My family surprised me with the presents they got me--(some farmy kitchen decorations, what else? :D-->)
  19. Wow! I didn't think anyone would remember!!! I saw this yesterday, but wasn't online long enough to reply. Mr Dove-- I love the pigtures!!! Yeah, that's it! :D--> But two-thirds of our first-born, hmmmm, that'll be interesting-- I guess I'll make sure his hiney is part of that, so he can leave his noxious fumes here and set a green haze over all of Baltimore!!
  23. David-- yeah, I'm goin WOW! we're gonna knock on all our neighbor's doors and invite em to twig!! heeheehee! Ya think we'll make a good impression on our neighbors? LOL!!!
