Welcome Abe. I'll say this much LCM sure knew how to screw up a good thing. I'm sure he's sitting out there thinking, "Man if I only would have sat back and just let this thing run itself. I shouldn't have stopped the open market at the ROA, I should have left the afternoon stage, I should have never demanded alligence from the leaders. I should've left PFAL alone never ended the WOW program, stopped the ROA..." Is it me or did LCM put an end to more things then he started? Sounds like he really was a lazy bastard. Another thought I had, if Jesus demanded that much paperwork from his disciples nothing would have happened, and we would have at least some documentation of how much they didn't get done. :) I could see it now, the History Channel would have a show about the Roman Paper Reduction Act, how the early christian church was buried under tons of paper work. WordWolf, Yes you can muckup the look and feel however you like just like XP, but if you are looking for a more efficent UI why not use Linux? Since VMWare is free now you could use Linux to do anything, but then that's my twisted thinking. As far as stablility goes I'll answer that after I install Battlefield 2 on it and play for a couple hours, but if you want to test the quality of your components Install Vista, if it even let's you install it then you have a good box. I'm running build 5728 which is much better then 5600 that one was quirky, but build 5384 was TOO STABLE it took 2 hours to install and was sloooow I put 1.5 gig of ram in it and it still was slow I found out why, the Indexing service. It's a love hate with Vista, the graphics are nice the interface is smooth, but it's like traveling in cold-war Europe exery time you run a new program or install something you have to show your papers, OK just kidding but the mouse clicking get's nuts. I think they really have a server class OS running with a desktop look and feel, it's the best of XP and server 2003. John, all the beta testers are running "Vista Ultimate" which is like XP Pro MediaCenter and Tablet Edition rolled up into one. The Terminal services are not part of this build. Right now I'm dictating using Microsoft's speech recognition services. This is really cool because all I have to do is talk tough to you, and it types the words very accurately I might say. So the best new thing in Microsoft Vista is the ability to dictate your messages. Now that I am doing this I think this is how I will answer all my mail from now on. So all I have to do is speak to the computer and it types the words in, if I want to edit something there's certain commands I can speak. In closing my report to you I want to say this, using this speech recognition system I may not switch to linux after all. However I doubt that the speech recognition system would be included in anything but the ultimate edition, we will have to see. Seth P. S. I spent 10 minutes talking to the computer correcting the mistakes that the speech recognition system made. It's kind of neat and I didn't even need to type to edit my document!

Wow you sure want alot, I'd get a Mac. But seriously I always use a 3rd party burner, because Microsoft's built in apps suck, they always have, Vista is not going to change that. I'm just testing it, I'm going to switch to Linux and Mac OSX soon, goodbye Windows. Seth

Tom, I bet people close to VP saw he was a man who could employ fatal violence to get his way. He was an avid hunter, so he knew his way around a gun, he had acres and acres of farmland to dispose of the evidence. I have no doubt Dotty thought long about how if she opposed VP to hard she might disapear into the woods never to be seen again. If that happened people would rally around VP and say "the adversary has struck home and taken Dotty to try and destroy our beloved ministry." I've heard it said there are more bodies buried on TWI grounds then most people know about. So in my mind how Dotty could have stayed in such a situation is clear, considering I didn't even live on TWI grounds but was very afraid to leave TWI myself. Seth

This is a good time to sell my treatment for Lethal Weapon 5 to Warner Bros. Title: Lethal Weapon 5: Drunker and Stupidder The story revolves around Riggs Status as "The only L.A. cop registered as a lethal weapon" being down graded to "non-lethal" status. Capt. Ed Murphy breaks the news to Riggs and Murtaugh in his office. Self abuse ensues as a once sober and insane L.A. cop becomes a slobbering mess who couldn't arrest a sock monkey. Inside a posh L.A. night club that caters to Hockey fans, Riggs begins to get plastered, and insults a few women. Totally out of control Riggs spews racial slurs at all of L.A.'s minorities and even spends half an hour on Canadians. Which lands him on his foot in the parking lot of the night club called "Montreal's" sore and stupid he drives home to be pulled over by Murtaugh. After Murtaugh reads Riggs his rights Riggs starts in with the racial slurs again, and Leo Getz gets involved at which time Riggs says something about German Jews and fists begin flying. Thats it. Hi Seth here, I have a hypothetical question, not meaning to derail this thread but parallel it. What if men started coming forward to relate their sexual encounters with other male leadership in TWI? What if they came forward and described similar coersion by a top leader or two who afterwards if the leader wasn't successful in his attempt or felt his little secret would get out, publicly denounced and claimed his victim was more possed then a new boot in hell? What would we think then, surely if a man says it, it must be true? Now Men, put yourself in the ladies shoes, if you feel as a man you could never ever share something like that on-line or even in private. Do not these women deserve some respect and honor for being brave enough to put in writting as a matter of public record their personnal stories of abuse? Do you not think for one moment these women thought a hundred times before exposing this? Do you not think that they thought a thousand times "Oh, they will never believe me." or do you not think they said to themselves ten thousand times, "what if they call me a liar?". Not in a million years would I lay at the feet of these honorable women even a grain of doubt. They have paid the price of admission to write their stories here, they should be honored and respected, because of the pain they carried for years with no outlet, no forum, no voice. Here's my take on it. It's all about control, and here are the facts:TWI was never in any financial trouble, look at the financial reports from 1987 to 2001 so the BOT came up with a scheme to tighten control. Geographicly TWI was spread thin, so it seams the big gatherings and weekends were not filling up any more. They cancelled the college program "lack of interest due to no acreditation" they cancelled the WOW program, less and less people to send (because LCM scared them away) with the WOW program gone they could cancel the ROA, besides 50% of the most faithful people didn't goto the ROA any more. With the ROA gone TWI didn't have to lay out all the cash to pull it off and could put that other places.Even with the looming Allen case they had over $30 million in assets by 2000 they had over $40 million. In 2003 they claimed to have $48 million in assets. and from 1987 to 2001 their annual expences never rose above $3.6 million. Oh and guess what, this doesn't include the Gunnison property which is under a separate non-profit, I don't know how much money is hidden there.It's all about control,Seth

Hijacking the truth and stealing the Love intended for God is wrong. I think God is so powerful He is able to work in people inspite of the group they belong to, or how twisted it's leaders may be. I think I learned to walk with God inspite of TWI's tripe not because of it. The darker it got the brighter God's light, and clearer the contrast. One thing I want to clear up this is not a halfway house or a Govt subsidized housing there is no live in staff or even any staff that keeps tabs on us at all accept when we ask for help, or volunteer information about the house, and then they are all members of other houses. We are part of a network of houses for people who are seeking fellowship and self-support, it is unique and as was noted the rules are simple and few for a reason. As I see it the rules are simple and few to allow for personnal growth, to allow a Higher Power to enter and work in individuals lives, and finally the fewer the rules the clearer the their intent and the less room for loopholes. Maybe that's why there was only 10 commandments? Seth

Not to get into legalities, renters rights do not apply here, and this is backed by legislation from the Federal Govt. We can evict anyone if there is a 80% majority vote, so the one causing the problem must go. It's not about the money it's about recovery. Besides what you propose in saying the three of use should threaten to move out sounds like extortion, an even sicker mind set then just rolling over and letting the T.A.'s of the world take over. About the president of the house, he acts like the boss, I told him 3 times yesterday that there are no bosses here and he just says "I know" then sites something he read once to justify his attitude. This is not assigned housing, we all live here by choice and must interview and be voted in by the current tenants. Seth

Hi Folks Seth here, I have a problem, it's a living problem. I live with 5 other men in a group housing situation, and there are general rules. The three cardinal are "No drinking or using drugs" "No disruptive behavior" "Pay rent" the house is run democraticly all share equally in the power that governs the house, their are not bosses. We essentially are all nuts, but we are supposed to be good nuts, but there is point at which people cross the line from being a nut to being an foot hole. That has happened and it's addressed in the group, and what the group says goes, minority oppinion has a voice and everyone has a say, once a vote is cast it is final untill it is revisited at the next house meeting. Every one in the house has a right to call an emergency meeting if there was disruptive behavior involving them. We had a situation yesterday where one of the nuts turned into an foot hole. We have one house member who is openly gay, and he is a very nice fellow, he has a roomate who is not gay, but he supports gay people and their struggles. For sake of keeping these two folks anonymous I'll call the gay man Vernon and his straight roomie George, and the foot hole will be called T.A. for The foot Hole. Yesterday T.A. was hiding in his room, and placing nasty notes on Vernon and George's room that read things like this: "George's Gay Palace", "George and the Fairies Room" "George's big willie suck room" This upset George rightly so. When Vernon came home from work yesterday George told him what happened, Vernon was very upset, and desired to call an emergency meeting, the president of the house a nut in his own right didn't see why. This morning I confronted T.A. about it, and all he did was justify and rationalize his behavior saying "well George knew it was a joke." I talked to George he wasn't laughing. T.A. said "The notes weren't directed at Vernon, but at George, besides Vernon wasn't home when I was putting them on the door." Now is this insane or what? I want to kill T.A. myself. Seth P.S.
