Interesting Observation (or two) and a Question (or two)
Steve! replied to CoolWaters's topic in About The Way
When I met up with Pawtucket last week (yeah, I know, I'm a name dropper), I asked him "Why do you do Greasespot?" And he said that there are so many disenfranchised ex-way people out there that don't have anywhere to go, others to talk to, to work through all of their emotions and experiences, etc. No place where they can compare notes with other people to see if their experiences were one-of-a-kind or if others experienced the same thing. Many ex-ways attend off-shoots where they have an outlet. But very many don't. I for one had absolutely no one to talk to about my time in TWI for 10 years. Greasespot is here to give a voice to the voiceless. -
MJ - you have to lift up the pillow again, and the stick is between the headboard and the bed.

The phrase "back in the day" irritates me. -
VPW: thief, plagiarist and con man. PFAL his MLM product
Steve! replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
For twi to have been a MLM scam, others in the pyramid would have had to made some money. No one at all made money except for those at the very top. -
When files get played in various media players, they first get downloaded to your machine. Where they end up depends on what browser you use. If you use Microshaft's Internet Distorter, there is a directory (folder) called Temporary Internet Files, and a copy of the player file will be put there. These are not permanent directories. Sometimes what happens is, as soon as you close Windoze Media Player, the file gets deleted. Also the name of the file might not be intuitive. You might have to look at a date/time stamp to see which file it is that you want. You can then copy that file to another place on your hard drive so that it doesn't get deleted. This is sort of a circuitous route, but it may help you get what you want.

Astronomy as a Hobby--anyone can do it!
Steve! replied to Zixar's topic in Cafe starry eyed discussions
My brother, who is VP of the Champaign Amateur Astronomy Club (or maybe he's sec/treas) will probably be bringing his scope to the wedding. -
Strangetom, you make it sound like that would be a bad thing. I think you owe Shellon an apology!

I heard a rumor that MOW is an accomplished fact! And now, the Amazing Sea Monkeys from Mars are crossing over the Bridge to the Promised Tank of the Prevailing Brine, and will see the Great Monk face to face!

Someone here at Gspot DID do some research on it, and figured out that it meant "the truth that is here"

Okay, long post warning. This is paraphrase from the article that was sent to me: Okay all youse Intermediate WHAP! graduates, listen up: We gots us a new class in the series on Biblical Studies, and it's called "Living God's Word as a Family". Dis here class is taughted by the Coulters, who are (note: I guess they mean Way Corps grads from 74 and 73)Okay, now follows summa da tings dat da Way Corpses who took dis class had ta say bout it: So whys dontcha go ahead and send in your moolah and get yourself in dis class now? Talk to your twig leader (oops! sorry! I meant "househole fellowsh!t leader") about da details. And the article is copyrighted: ©The Way International March/April 2004 Isn't that enough to gag you? all that way speak, and everything?

It's the ampersand that indicates an escape code, the # indicates that it is a number.
-
Or if I use the actual brackets, then I have to do it like this: [ quote ] and then a quote [ /quote ] and then tell you "but leave the spaces out between the brackets" which is a lot of messing around, and not as clear
-
If you just type them instead of using the codes, then the brackets don't show up when you are trying to show how to do stuff. If I try to show how to put a quote on the screen, and type in using the actual brackets instead of the codes, here's how it comes out: and that doesn't help anyone
-
The way you get a less than sign is ampersand-lt-semicolon & lt ; without the spaces < For a left bracket, it is ampersand-pound-91-semicolon & # 91 ; without the spaces greater than is gt instead of lt The copyright symbol is copy instead of lt © The right bracket is 93 instead of 91 ]

Hmmmm, alaseamonkeyness is dreaming about spanking monkeys and boys with monkeys, what could it possibly mean? We should ask docmonk(praise be his monkeyness), he will tell us what the Great Monk told him when he saw the starfish covered gas pumps

LLP, notice the smileys? She's kidding

Yeah, really! Here's some more info from my source, who got this straight out of the April 2004 Way Ragazine: Sampling of enthusiastic response to class....The teachings include so much on Biblical priorities, relationships, the virtuous woman, the prevailing marriage, standing as a household, raising children, ethics, and many more topics we need to be informed on.
-
Okay, I received some info, I can't tell you from who, but it is a reliable source. Here's the skewp: Living God's Word As A Family...taught by the Coulter's...requirement is Intermediate Class Grad...brief on class "young and old who are seeking to increase their understanding of God's beautiful design for their functions in the household. I'm assuming that that means grad of the Intermediate WHAP! class.
