Wierwille's Actions vs. His Words: Starting Over
Steve! replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
Oh, I don't know, I get that impression from your usage of tired old cliches such as "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" and tired new cliches like "eat the fish but spit out the bones". -

om - I'm not disputing that we learned some truths while in twi. Neither is waterbuffalo. What I asked you before you haven't yet answered. Why should piffle and twi be held up as the standards to measure against, or be used as a starting place? It's okay for you, I have no quibble with you setting your standards where you want. But why are you so insistent that that's the way that it must be done? -
Okay, one of our children, Zach, the second grader, has a class project going on. Every child in his class drew and colored Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley was a (fictitious) boy that was flattened in a bookcase, and now travels the world. Zach's assignment is to send Flat Stanley to someone in another city, state, or country, and that person will make an entry in Flat Stanley's passport (yes, he comes with a passport that has about 10 pages), then send a postcard back to Zach's classroom, and forward Flat Stanley to someone else in another city, state, or country, and then whoever has Flat Stanley after May 1, 2005 is supposed to mail him and his passport back to the class. The kids have a lot of fun with it. I saw Flat Stanley and immediately thought of the folks at Greasespot Cafe. There are people here that live in all parts of the world. Would anyone be willing to host Flat Stanley for a short time, send a postcard to Zach's class, and then send Flat Stanley to his next host? He doesn't eat much - nothing, actually - and since he is flat and fits in a 4" x 6" envelope, doesn't take much space. The only expenses involved would be the cost of a postcard and postage for the postcard and to send Flat Stanley to his next destination. I thought perhaps a good start might be someone in the UK or Australia or Canada. Trefor? A la Prochaine? Girl from Oz (if you're still around)? Anyone that would enjoy participating, please send me an email at stevelwall99@yahoo.com. And thank you!

Yeah, 185th and baseline is pretty close to Oregon City.

OM, you're not thinking outside the square. Let's get on the ball, run that up the flagpole and see who salutes! -
Wierwille's Actions vs. His Words: Starting Over

OM, you are advocating that one starts with piffle, and compare piffle to the Bible. Why? What is the compelling reason for anyone to start with piffle? I'm not asking for your personal reasons, you have your reasons and they are valid for you, and you have that right, and more power to you. I'm asking why I, or TheEvan, or Oakspear should start with piffle. Why not start where the Spirit, God, leads you to start? Why must one compare against piffle? -

om, you make some interesting points. First, smikeol is worshipping and adoring the messenger way above the message. In general, that is not the case with Bible believers. In smikeol's eyes, docvic (praise be his name) could do no wrong, whatsoever. Second, smikeol does this to magnify himself and to bring adulation to himself. It might not be immediately apparent, but if you read enough of his posts, even superficially, you can see that. So to answer your question, he does NOT have to be idolatrous to believe that docvic(praise be his name) received revelation from God and wrote it down. he just has to completely ignore all the various testimonies from eyewitnesses to the plagiarism. he has proven his idolatry time and time again when he has contined to defend his idol even when shown that his idol made major errors. he is idolatrous in that he continues to aver that the orange book, piffle, supersedes the Bible, even when shown that the piffle book is way less than perfect. If piffle DID supersede the Bible, it would HAVE to be perfect. As far as my giving praise to docvic(praise be his name), that's called illustration by exaggeration. -

rascal - you've allowed smikeol to successfully derail this thread. If smikeol wants a new thread on sex, he should start one. smikeol does his absolute best to take attention away from his idol (and I don't use that word loosely) docvic (praise be his name). -
Okay, but she was in Portland that year, right? or Oregon City?

Dang, you weren't supposed to guess that this easily. Actually, NO ONE can start a topic in Just Plain Silly. Topics can only get MOVED there. -
As usual, smikeol's head is up his class.
-
As usual, smikeol's lips are firmly embedded in docvic's (praise be his name) backside. Taste good, smikeol?
-
And from what I heard, Bear Lighters was always a horrific experience. No one ever came back unscathed, from what I saw.
-
So why did they go around lighting bears, anyway? What did the bears ever do to them?

Gee, there's a surprise! -
I knew Vivian!! Way back in 80-81 or so. Wasn't she a WOW in Portland that year?
-
Very well put, Raf. I apologize, I did not intend to water down your meaning.
-
OM - Yes, what Raf posted seems to agree with what you posted, and vice versa. Except that in the past, anytime this subject came up (and you post the same stuff EVERY time it comes up), you keep hammering that the women involved have some culpability too, and you always seem to be driving towards ZERO or MINIMAL culpability on the part of the minister. If this time what you are saying is that SOMETIMES the "victims" are partially responsible for what happened (for example, Raf's point about starry-eyed vixens), but that the minister still retains the lion's share of culpability, then I will agree with you. But if as usual what you are seeking to do is to excuse the ministers involved, then I will keep hammering that that stance as idiotic.

The Circumcision (Could it mean this?)
Steve! replied to sky4it's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Oh, please. The penile cancer argument is completely irrelevant and comes from being uninformed. Saying that all men should be circumcised to avoid penile cancer is similar to saying that all women should have mastectomies to avoid breast cancer. The incidence of penile cancer among UNcircumcised men is negligent. -
Oh, oldies is singing his tired old song, the same song he always sings. he always whines about how the women involved in the extramarital stuff have some personal responsibility in the matter, how they could have said "no", and to call them victims is to mislabel them. he whines about how it could not possibly have been rape or sexual assault, since both parties were "consenting adults". he's trying to exonerate his hero, docvic(praise be his name).
-
Hmmm, looking back, it seems strangely appropriate applying the phrase "number two" to loyboy. Anyone got some extra TP?

But still, since it's a ragazine, and since most mags are vehicles for advertising, they may claim that expenses associated with its production can be considered advertising costs.
