It's still apples and oranges, rainman. -
Are TWI's corporate motivations steal, kill and destroy?

There's that really lame comparison to Paul. Once again, here's why you can't do that. Paul got born again and repented - that is, turned away - from his former actions. He stopped doing those things that were contrary to the wooooooord. docvic(praise be his name) did not stop. Sorry, bzzzzzzzt!, wrong response, but thank you for playing. Jane, give rainman his lovely parting gift. -
Simonizer - that was "Crimson Tide".

Yeah, I recently saw an article where Kansas was scientifically proven to be flatter than a pancake!

I dunno, rascal, it depends on how much money. An old guy in a very fancy car stops on the street next to a beautiful woman and asks, "If I gave you $1 million, would you have sex with me?" She said, "Sure!" He said, "How about for $300?" She said, "What do you think I am, a prostitute?" He said, "We've already established that fact, now we're haggling as to price!" 7 figures, for a couple of years, I muck with the system as much as I want, it's all good.

To quote Wordwolf, who was quoting someone else - "I don't care if he was a plagiarist, molester, rapist, conman and overall fraud, HE TAUGHT ME THE WOOOORD... I got mine-who cares if YOU suffer?" -
Would I go back? Only if they put me on the board of trustees/directors and gave me a 7 figure salary.

This is great! So far Flat Stanley is booked for several weeks. I'm keeping track, he WILL get to everyone who asked, but it may be a while!
-
Hmmmm, if I had to guess, I would say that you took your nickname from this sport.
-
Yup, all that mattered were the numbers. If there were any integrity at all, 90% of the bearlighters would not have been allowed to continue, because they were told "Get a class together or get out". When you do that kind of thing with a child, the child learns that you don't mean what you say, and learns to be disingenuous. When the in-resident corps saw the lack of integrity, that should have sent up a red flag.

Hey, Ryan, good to see you. Are those new glasses? You've got quite a way with words!
-
Okay, I just got confirmation that Flat Stanley is in Massachusetts, and will be leaving there tomorrow morning.
-
Pat - forgive my being so nosy, but - are you in a wheelchair? You said that Seth wheeled you to the back of the room, and you wheeled yourself out. Not that it makes any difference to me, of course.
-
So okay, Flat Stanley is either on his way to Massachusetts, or he is there. From there he should be heading on up to Maine. And from there, I think he'll end up going to Canada!
-
Well, it HAS been a very long time since I was there - I was thinking Baseline was on the East side of the Willamette River. Silly me. I had 185th and Burnside in my head. But when I was in Portland, there were something like 30 fellowships there. And almost the whole time I was there, there was one in the house or apartment where I was living.

Whoops, so it had nothing to do with flames and grizzlies? my bad

That would be way kewl! Definitely, there's always room for one more!

NEWS FLASH TWI More Loving, Got Rid ofThe Dictators!!
Steve! replied to indyrobb's topic in About The Way
Well, at least you've dotted all your t's and crossed all your i's. -
I don't know that her memories are necessarily false, they might be crossing. For example, GeorgioJessio or another poster here has said that he doesn't remember that there was a TV/movie room at Gunnison. Waysurvivor has said that she went through this from the time she was 7 until she was 12. Well, I don't think anyone that wasn't on staff stayed there 5 years running. She also said that she was there in 1982. If she was there 5 years, she would have said 1982-1987. So that's what leads me to believe that most of what happened, happened outside of Gunnison. But that some things DID happen at Gunnison. And that her father is a pedophile and a rapist and a pimp, and should be tried, convicted, and if found guilty, executed.

This is so great, I've got about 10 people lined up for this, and then who knows where it will go? I'll be responding to the various emails shortly, I'm putting together a sort of a route map. Tom, you'll probably be getting it before Pawtucket, for reasons I can't explain here. Thanks, everyone! I'll post updates as I hear about Flat Stanley's travels!
-
Well, waysurvivor, there are some things in your initial post that don't seem to quite add up. I'm not calling you a liar, but merely stating that this could be a reason for others having done so. Perhaps some of your experiences happened in a place other than Gunnison, but with your father - maybe at his house, or the house of one of his friends. It is not uncommon for memories to cross in this fashion, especially with such traumatizing experiences. That would account for the things that didn't quite fit with what people know about Gunnison. Also, there ARE a few innies that post at Greasespot. The majority here are out, but there are some that for personal reasons are still in. And many that are out still haven't yet divested themselves of all of their waybrain.
