    A Thread For Quitters

Raf, that is *so* beyond pathetic. Yeah, I know, you don't need to hear condemnations at a time like this. But it really is *so* beyond pathetic! Okay, I'll stop now. I took up smoking when I was 11 - for about a week. During that time I "smoked" a total of 3 cigarettes. And after a week I wondered "What the hell's the big deal?" Funny thing is, I still felt cravings for nicotine 3 weeks later . . .
  2. Keep in mind, Oakspear, that the system *encouraged* edicts. If Radar had merely suggested to the one mom that perhaps she should only come to stick, er, twig fellowship on Sundays, that mom would more than likely have continued in her present practices. Same thing with the home school family, I'd bet.

    MARRIAGE Q

Hmmmm, am I sensing a love connection here? ;)-->
  4. So anyone getting those Mobile Abundant Living (MALPacks) ready?
  5. So *YOU'RE* the culprit! ;)--> Actually, most other people that were there seemed to have a good time with it.
  6. This probably isn't the right forum to ask this, but what the heck. Would you mind sharing the names of those local leaders? I ask because I lived in Portland for 4 years, back in the 80's. Oh, and when you use full names, unless the name is your own, you should obscure it just a little - e.g., M*rio V*den. Forum rules, ya know.
  7. Wow, it sounds like Flat Stanley had a great time!
  8. You are *such* a tease!

  11. Well, since Belle's not answering . . . "This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship"
  12. "Common sense" was definitely in short supply in TWItland. How many times did leader.... say "God gave you a brain and expects you to use it", and then they turned around and chided you for doing that very thing?
  13. Okay, Sudo, it's the series "Superman" starring George Reeves, all right? ;)-->
  14. redz, that's uncalled for. From time to time I remember things, and I am interested in finding out if others remember those events the same way, or had similar impressions of them. You've never reminisced at a high school reunion, or when you're with your extended family, about events from your younger years?
  15. I was in a fellowship meeting once where no one was called upof for SIT or prophecy - and yet there came a point in the meeting where it just seemed absolutely natural for it to happen, and 3 people were SO inspired that they just did it in turn. That was bar none THE hottest meeting I was ever a part of.
  16. Nope, JIA, Gareth E. was my twig leader.
  17. It sold for over $16,000! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=5561537389
  18. At the AdvanceDUH (as John L*nn would say it) Class in Empooria in 1984, before every evening teaching we would line up in twigs, and sing some stupid song on our way in, military style. Ours was always a variation of the doo wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo song. Others did songs along the lines of the "I don't know but it's been said . . ." song. I always found that revolting. Of course, YMMV. Some of you may have liked it, and I certainly don't hold it against you. To me it just seemed so . . . I don't know, common. Does anyone else remember doing that?
  19. Kal el would say that that one's too easy.
