Dot - That seems like it would be somewhat cathartic. P.S. I'm on your side -
A comment about W2003 - I read an article that really makes 2003 seem like the greatest thing since sliced bread. You don't have to completely upgrade from W2K in order to install W2003. You can install it piecemeal if you want, and it is not a destructive install. If you decide that the piece you installed is not right for you, uninstalling it is a breeze. And the best thing is that the .Net framework is built into W2003, so you don't have to install that.

When I see posts from a certain poster, it is as in those Charlie Brown TV shows, where the teacher is talking: "Bwa wa wah wa wha wa wa wha wa". Useless unintelligible noise that only a select few understand, or want to. -

I'm reading this while I'm petting a ***** cat. As I recall, the only thing said about fornication was that it was sex before marriage. -
Oh, please, please tell me it can't be so. There CAN'T be errors in PLAF! er, I mean, PFAL! Oh, the shame! Oh, the humanity!

What are portals and how to get them open or closed?
Steve! replied to vickles's topic in Computer Questions
Ports, not portals. And opening and closing ports is not something that you should have to do. What is it that you are doing when this happens? Are you starting Internet Explorer? Word? some other program? or does it do this when you are just sitting there staring at a completely blank screen? Have you run a virus scan lately? How long have you had your computer? Is it still under warranty? if so, take it to where you bought it and have them fix it. -
Laleo - the satellite radio thing is called "XFM". It's a subscription service. You can find it at http://www.satusa.com/satellite-radio.shtml

IgJohn - You've got to set up your home computer's drives as sharable. In other words, administrative access isn't enough.

You might not have the NVidia help driver loaded, that's perfectly acceptable. The refresh rate is how fast your screen repaints itself. What happens is that your screen gets repainted one line at a time. The higher the frequency, the faster it gets repainted. 74 hertz means that your screen gets repainted 74 times per second. If you have a real slow refresh rate, then you will see your screen sort of "blinking" - not really blinking, but not a clear, steady picture, either.

Thanks, Nugg. He was there from about 1980 until about 1983 or 4, I think. Plus he got in the Word there.

Vicki pickles, we would have, but circumstances . . . But we are planning on it for next year!
-
Hey, Possum, was Joe Anders still living in Texarkana when you were there?
-
Vickie pickles - perhaps it is time to look up that "step by step" thread, and follow it again. Or you can copy and paste the URL from this post here: http://publish.hometown.aol.com/rottiegrrr...?mtbrand=AOL_US

I am curious about them as well. I lived with them for a year and a half or so in Portland, OR. Are they out now?

Oh, btw, Chazzy, your hard drive is probably mincemeat.

Oh, wow. You are in deep ummm, stuff. You need your recovery disk. Oh, you say you don't have one? Whoops! Then you need the recovery CD that came with your computer. Come on, even HP can't be THAT incompetent as to not send a recovery CD! You should have gotten some CD's and stuff when you bought your computer. One of them will say "Recovery" on it. Good luck, C!

Reverend mother exie - Almost the same, probably good enough. If you don't have any problems, why mess with it?

Mel is a big proponent of bringing back the Latin mass in the Catholic church. Smatter of fact, he's got a chapel on his property in California.

Also, on the menubar at the top of your screen,go to "Tools", "Internet Options", and then in the "Temporary Internet files" section, click "Settings...", then on "check for newer versions" click "every visit to page". This may help.

If you want to be able to add a subject line, log out, then log in again, but click on "disable the advanced interface".

Well, it sure didn't SEEM like a mild case! Oh, and I was also taking psyllium husk for a few weeks.
