You offered respect Roy, no small gift. A word fitly spoken can be like a pebble tossed into a pond that doesn't make a big splash at the time but sends ripples out, slowly and smoothly and ends up when and where it does in it's own time. Life's greatest pleasures can be the ones that come back to us when we least expect it!

We hiked up a stretch along a creek, and found one scene after another like this. The trees and brush and vegetation were so luch and full! -

This one was really cool! There was a cave under the growth, and the water was really pretty clear here. -

Due to the recent rains the creeks were running water through them. We stopped at a spot where there was a fairly large bridge and checked it out. It was worth it, the running water and the boulders made for a beautiful view. The drive down this road is pretty windy and many of the bridges you cross over are really small. This one was pretty good size and there were turnouts on both sides so it was a good place to stop. -

The wif' is pointing here to a fall that was waaaaaay up above, and I took several photos but none of them actually showed the upper fall clearly. This was the best shot of the lower fall, very bubbly and peaceful. By this time we'd only seen a couple other people along the way. It was amazingly peaceful, with some slight misty drizzles off and on but most of the day was moderately cool and nice. -

This spot was a grand view of 3 falls and the pool below. We saw the 4th just above them, and a 5th that was far up I couldn't get a good angle on. COOL! spot. -

This one was off a ways from the beaten track, not hard to get to but couldn't be seen from the road. We headed down a path that one of our guide books suggested was worth the stop. When we came to a break we looked back and down the side of the hill and saw this. -

Right up the road we pulled off to a spot where the entrance to a path turned out to be closed, so we couldn't get to those falls. When we came back, we sat in our car for a bit and looked over the map, parked near a small bridge. Suddenly a chicken showed up, coming up from the creek side next our car. Then another. They were the oddest thing - wild chickens - and the first couple birds just stood near our car looking at us. We figured they must be used to being fed, as they just stood there waiting. Theh one squacked and another couple came up. We finally backed out...slowly...as they just stood there watching us..... -

The "Road to Hana" is a long drive down the coast of Maui - east coast? Along the way there are many different waterfalls. We took off one day when the weather looked good using a map and a CD from "Snorkel Bob's" that talks the driver through the various stops along the way and what to look for. (plus some pretty funny commentary by "Bob" and his sidekick) This was one of the first locations we found, a short hike off the main road. Right along behind us were newlyweds, just married and honeymooning in Maui. They took our picture and we returned the gesture. Due to recent rains the waterfalls were active but most of the pools were a bit muddy, like this one. It was a beautiful spot, quiet and on the day we drove very few cars on the road. This was our second visit, the first being our 25th anniversary, with our kids. This visit it was just us. -
I'm seeing where it goes, I-Dan! Those are some killer themes, there. With the Flintstones theme, I'm wondering if it would be too sacriligeous to add some changes after the bridge, as it's a very short turnaround. Maybe keep dropping it down a step two more times= d -g c -f Bb -eb Ab -c# then F It still ends up in the same spot, and there's a kind of ooomphy natural movement from the c# if you played a quick c# - Eb - F and kind of "push" it back up. There might be room for a relative minor or two. Dunno, still messing with it.

Roy, I'm sure your intentions were in their best interests. I guess in the interest of 'Netiquette, it's advisable to honor a groups statement of purpose. Theirs is - "Anyone who is part of the Way International Biblical Research Ministry join!!!! This is a place for like-minded believers to talk about the Word or just to get in touch." I'm beating a dead donkey here, but it's clear what their purpose is. Like the vegetarian discussion, you probably had some good input. Cool. That group is set up for people that are part of the Way not those who aren't. Another group could be set up to discuss the pros and cons of the Way and any other issues and if they wanted to they could participate.

Yessuh, that's a nice bass! As a teenager I played with a guy who had a Hofner bass, moved from double bass in band to electric and got a Hofner - he got a nice all around sound out of it. Played with a pick for electric stuff usually, and the small open body like the Viola got a cool sound. KT is a good performer A la. Nice stuff, enjoyed what she did with the Jackson 5 tune. Nice pedals too. Tunes - cartoons. I'm working on a simple arrangment of the theme from the "Flintstones". It's a pretty snappy song as it turns out and has been done by a lot of different artists from Ray Brown to Pat Metheny. The music lends itself to a fast be-boppy kind of arrangement although there's some room for tweezing it a little here and there. The changes are simple with room to move - say - starts in Bb for the main verse then runs through a circle of 4ths for the bridge - D to G, C to F which resolves it to the 5th of Bb, and then back to Bb and the verse again. The music was written by Hoyt Curtin who also wrote other Hanna Barbera themes including The Jetsons. I read he knocked this one out in about an hour. Hanna and Barbera are credited for the lyrics I think. It's a cool little tune.
