  1. Bluzeman, you're right! If those aren't Amazing Sea Monkeys!, I'm a monkey's uncle! Grizzy, you're right to avoid the anti-sea monkey sites on the internet! Largely populated by disgruntled ne'er-do-well bottom feeders, they offer little to the true seeker of sea monkey truth!!! You're in the right place! As MOW becomes a reality in our day and time, MFAL will be in a city near you soon! I just know it! [This message was edited by socks on March 14, 2004 at 19:52.]
  2. SEA Monkeys! But that is funny! The realism is amazing! I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  3. Speaking of cockles, one of my favorite singers is still Joe Cockles! :)--> I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  4. MOW-coming to a city near you - Catch the Amazement! I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  5. Easy solution to all of this, it just hit me. Move the entire "About the Way" forum to the bottom and rename it "Hearsay and Whiny Gossip". Replace it with the "Real Nostalgia" thread up top. Solicit donations for a new website and board for "Mastering PFAL" and move all of that stuff to that website and board. Require that everyone who wants to participate re-register. Let both of those people have at it on the new board and website. It's so simple! I think mountainsnow's freaky point about the freaky forum and it's freakin' significance is sound - whatever gets the most hits should have the predominant spot. I only say this because I'm planning a thread on VPW's various references to "Howard" over the years and how they actually reflected messages in the Vesper Chimes printed programs from the early years of the Way and I KNOW that's going to be a real hit producer. Stay tuned. You may disagree. The numbers prove it and if that's what we're looking for it's the only honest solution. This is America. Numbers talk, nobody walks. Big hits, you don't take no $hit. In fact, this will actually INCREASE participation. Thank you. I don't require any payment for this idea. I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  6. Barkeep, a round of fresh Yeast for Gingertea! No mouth will go unfed. Here's another Amazing Sea Monkeys! story: in the 60's when the Beatles were going to see the Mahariji's in India, Beatle Ringo Starr asked him "what is the secret of life?" and was given the answer "Sea monkeys!" ... he thought. He actually misheard, tapes of the meeting reveal he really said "See that big redhead? She wants my monkey, heee heee!" Starr left that meeting on a lifelong quest to find the truth about Sea Monkeys and finally wrote the songs "Octopuses Garden" and "Yellow Submarine" as testimonies to his quest. YES! RINGO STARR himself is an Amazing Sea Monkey! follower. It's true! Isn't it amazing!!!??? I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  7. YOU GO DOZE! What a testimony! If we just hold it forth, the hungry will come. Sea Monkey Squarepants! hey Zixar? DAMM the liberal media!!! that run Hollywood!!!! I heard a rumor that Amazing Sea Monkeys! were used as stunt doubles and extras in "Alien Resurrection" in the underwater scenes and never got screen credits!!!! DAMM the liberal film and TV moguls!!! I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  8. Great movie lines that got changed: "Be amazed." "Be very amazed." (The Fly) "Go ahead. Make my monkey!" (Sudden Impact) "Frankly my dear, I don't give an Amazing Sea Monkey!" (Gone With the Wind) I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  9. Whale food: There's some research that was done by none other than Zeke Cousteau, nephew of Jacques. It's been well hidden, ridiculed and all but ignored these last 20 years, but according to Zeke he found evidence that the little krilly monkeys that whales consume aren't really digested, rather the tiny crustaceans actually bring food with them when they're swallowed, to deliver to the whale in exchange for habitat, protection and travel accomodations. In essense, the Amazing Sea Monkeys! act as little aquatic UPS carriers, delivering foodstuffs to the whale in a symbiotic relationship that's been going on since prehistoric times! It fits, especially when you consider how the whale population was diminished in the 80's by over fishing. Anyone else notice that the worldwide Amazing Sea Monkey population went waaaaay down in that decade? Hmmm hmmm. Coincidence? I don't THINK so! And it makes perfect sense! when you think about it! Doesn't it? It's just amazing!!! I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  10. Sadie, the Amazing Sea Monkeys! thread loves you too! Goey said: Hear hear! Isn't it wonderful to have a place where we can finally come together as one without fear or guilt!? I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea [This message was edited by socks on March 10, 2004 at 19:42 which just goes to show how much he really really cares about the accuracy of the monkey!!!] [This message was edited by socks on March 10, 2004 at 19:44.]
  11. Good Question! Given Mr. Gabriel's tendency to multiple meanings (his 5th release was titled "SO"...do re mi fa SO la ti do...? or So? or...?) who can say? Is he talking about the state of man? The effects of deforestation? Consider these lyrics to Shock the Monkey: Cover me when I run Cover me through the fire Something knocked me out' the trees Now I'm on my knees Cover me, darling please Monkey, monkey, monkey Don't you know when you're going to shock the monkey Fox the fox Rat the rat You can ape the ape I know about that There is one thing you must be sure of I can't take any more Darling, don't you monkey with the monkey Monkey, monkey, monkey Don't you know you're going to shock the monkey Wheels keep turning Something's burning Don't like it but I guess I'm learning Shock! - watch the monkey get hurt, monkey Cover me, when I sleep Cover me, when I breathe You throw your pearls before the swine Make the monkey blind Cover me, darling please Monkey, monkey, monkey Don't you know you're going to shock the monkey Too much at stake Ground beneath me shake And the news is breaking Shock! - watch the monkey get hurt, monkey Shock the monkey Shock the monkey Shock the monkey to life ------------------------ May they not be Amazing Sea Monkeys! I was lost in the deep and darkest night. No direction, not a single hope in sight When I saw a fire burning brightly through the storm that raged above In the shadows of your warm and tender love. Chris Rea
  12. Welcome Zix! You have much to share, bring it on! Brining is an exciting adventure! Aaah, the use of nerve jamming chords! Yes! JL! The Stones are MASTERS. One technique I know of is called "Syringe Pedal Toning", where Ron Woods keeps the actual chords in place and Keith Richards' chords are made by the sound of his jacket hitting the guitar while he looks for his blood-transfer appointment book. In the original lineup it was developed by Brian Jones when he tried to play the sitar wearing those big 60's ruffled shirts. The Stones know man. They know. ;)--> I was standing all alone against the world outside. You were searching for a place to hide.... Now I've found you, there's no more emptiness inside. 13. Moo-ve it. amscray ootscay to the octrinalday issionmaries. Unless it has to do with the important work being done on the Amazing Sea Monkeys! of course. If the hits drop Paw, you can always move it back, add a rotating banner and a 2 for 1 special. :D--> I was standing all alone against the world outside. You were searching for a place to hide.... 14. WOW! I just lost a huge post when my reply got messed up. The adversary is really FIGHTING to keep the truth about the Amazing Sea Monkeys! hidden! ex10, WELCOME from me too! There's an Amazing Sea Monkey! inside all of us, just waiting to hatch!!! Your post on the Chia Pet really hit home with me, from a different standpoint. I have several friends who are members of Chianon, victims of CPAS (Chia Pet Abuse Syndrome). Spent Saturday night with one, talking him down. Apparently every full moon he's filled with uncontrollable desires to trim his Chia's over and over, right to the nub, making salads and spreading them on sandwiches and in soups. He's not the only one I guess, they call themselves "Cutties". Never knew anyone so affected by their Amazing Sea Monkeys! though! They bring love and joy everywhere! Remember these words from that famous poet: I think that I Shall never see, A poem as lovely As an Amazing Sea Monkey! Now that you've experienced The Change that Amazing Sea Monkeys! can bring, you'll want to visit some of the sites mentioned on this thread to continue in your growth. excathedra has some wonderful pieces posted by the Art Department. There's a lot of good stuff in this thread, lots of sharings, some tears, lots of laughs! It's all good! I was standing all alone against the world outside. You were searching for a place to hide.... 15. Wow! New people! Awesome! Welcome andrea! This Amazing Sea Monkeys! stuff is just great! It's like multiplication. Excathedra believes, new people....There's brines, miracles and wonders EVERYwhere! where to start...the Stones connection is MIND BLOWING. It makes TOTAL sense now why Bill Wyman named his first solo album "Monkey Grip". The Stones knew! They knew. Go figure, the Beatles - and the Amazing Sea Monkeys! - why did't I see it before! Beatles....Monkeys. BOTH WORDS HAVE 7 LETTERS. ...BEA....SEA...??? and they both end with S...it's so obvious it hurts! NIKA, I need to get some fresh Monkeys. Mine are kind of lonely and there's nothing worse than a lonely monkey! I was standing all alone against the world outside. You were searching for a place to hide.... Now I've found you, there's no more emptiness inside. When we're hungry love will keep us alive. The Eagles
  16. Hmm, the Home Depot's here have them Tom. I've been able to navigate that process uccessfully a couple times. People there are usually helpful. Supermarkets have the Power Shoppers, the true Hunter/Gatherer types. Vicious stuff. You fall behind, do a price check or even just look like you're a newbie and you're gonna get trampled under some Mom's Addidas and shuffled off to the "back" of the store through those plastic door thingies back by the coolers, for some remedial Shopping Training. I've heard stories...it's a hard way to go. I don't even try to to go food shopping in those places unless I'm fully rested and warmed up and then only when I have a Guide, someone who knows local custom, store layout and can speak the language. 17. Tom, time for a spur: Speaking of paper and plastic, I wrote up a piece for a local tiny newspaper several years ago, part of a personal series of writs I've done on the unusual and strange experiences I've had while shopping. Keeping in mind that while I enjoy certain types of very select shopping, (the get in get out quickie skirmishes are fine-sometimes) I have never been able to adapt mentally or emotionally to the all-out onslaught of grocery shopping in a large supermarket. It's just too weird. Anyway, several years ago I really had to go to the store to get something, and I hadn't been to a large supermarket for quite awhile, since they started doing the paper or plastic bag thing. It might have been a year or longer. Anyway, I get there and get rung up and I'm alone, no wife, no cover, and it's really busy. So the bagger guy says "Paper or plastic" and I had no idea what he was talking about. I tried to ignore it by pretending I didn't hear, and then he asks me again, more insistent. People in the line are starting to murmur, I'm holding up The Line. Then it hit me. He had to be asking me if I was going to PAY for stuff with PAPER - (actual cash), or PLASTIC - (credit card). Which of course wasn't what he meant. But I pulled out my wallet and waved the guy off, "No thanks, plastic's too expensive to use, here..." and handed him a 20 dollar bill. It got a little weird after that, but I did get everything paid for finally and left. I was good to go for awhile after that, until several months later when I went to buy some Sliced Cheese and Hot Dog buns. THAT got brutal. I was standing all alone against the world outside. 18. Wow, what a family! Look at us, pulling together, meeting needs. Wow. As we see the Amazing Sea Monkeys! move over the world, I'm concerned about maintainance and upkeep. NIKA, what can you recommend? Anyone else know their favorites these days? I know we all want healthy happy monkeys so they can truly Amazing! Something tells me we're going to need to stock up soon! 19. JL, this often gets me through tough times: It's a Small World (written by Richard and Robert Sherman, early Amazing Sea Monkeys! farmers!) Legend has it, it's taken directly from original scrolls they discovered in a Martian meteorite! Really! (go HERE to listen to the spritely music!) It's a world of laughter A world of tears It's a world of hopes And a world of fears There's so much that we share That it's time we're aware It's a small world after all There is just one moon And one golden sun And a smile means Friendship to ev'ryone Though the mountains divide And the oceans are wide It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small world after all It's a small, small world I was standing all alone against the world outside. 21. Tom, the 2nd Rover report has OLM's everywhere thrilled! The tiny pockets in the stone could very well be the early underwater track housing developments where the ancient, highly evolved Amazing Sea Monkeys! lived in peace and harmony! Bluzeman, don't you think this is what's referred to in the Monkees song "Pleasant Valley Sunday"?!?! and could they not have been letting earth know that our inner desire to congregate together is part of the long lost message of the Amazing Sea Monkeys! that was embedded in early humans when they first encounted the Amazing Sea Monkeys!!!??? 22. nika, did they have nametags? That actually confirms a report of a small box that apparently fell off of a truck on US 101 northern California . CHIP's reported it was filled with...very small blue wristbands with "MOW" embossed on them. This is getting curiouser and curioser! I was standing all alone against the world outside. 23. excie, :)--> We be TAPPED IN! Nice song, hey? Geo Aar, I'd agree except for one thing: every full moon sightings of Amazing Sea Monkeys! increase. 24. This question was answered at 5:00 pm today in the parking lot where I work. The dead rose up from their cubicles and came streaming out, suddenly revitalized by the coming weekend! 25. Well, I'm a romantic I suppose but I can say from experience all kinds of nice things happen under a big full moon. We live just next to some nice hills to the east and I love it when the full moon comes up over them, like a big silver dollar. Feel a song comin' on...Somewhere Out There Somewhere out there, Beneath the pale blue night, Someone's thinking of me, And loving me tonight. Somewhere out there, Someone's saying a prayer, Then we'll find one another, In that big somewhere out there. And even though I know how very far apart we are, It helps to think we might be wishing On the same bright star, And when the night will start to sing A lonesome lullaby, It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky. Somewhere out there, If love can see us through, Then, we'll be together, Somewhere out there, out where dreams, come true. I was standing all alone against the world outside. You were searching for a place to hide.... Now I've found you, there's no more emptiness inside. When we're hungry love will keep us alive. The Eagles
