Exie's right, the past is dead. Let's have an "Uncle Harry" day.
-
Which part of that didn't you understand Peahead? I don't understand. #1 - I'm not trying to change your opinion, so I feel good about the fact I haven't. #2 - If disagreeing with you is going to be characterized as a hissy fit, I can't wait to hear what you call serious aggression. #3 - You still haven't explained why you've come to the conclusions you have and if you haven't by now you're probably not going to so I'm not going to ask again. (note loose application of the word "again"). #4 - In this example of the girls, the woman's response was one thing and the girls baking the cookies was another. IMO, the bad was created by the woman, not the girls. The "bad" was a product of the woman's perception. To her there was nothing good about it. To the girls, the intention was to do something nice for someone else. Whether or not that was good only works to the point the stupid cookies get on the doorstep. At that point their intentions are completed whatever they were. It's not a religious ritual, it's not repeatable. And all in all it doesn't really matter a whole heck of a lot does it? Except that it provided a mirror of sorts. #5 - You sound like you're in the same position as the woman having a fright-fest over a knock on the door. She wouldn't know good, bad or chaotic slipstreams in time if they hit her on the head. In her world, things aren't what they appear to be. She's scared by her perceptions, not reality. #6 - Boo.

Peahead, you can run and you can hide. In the, where was it... the library? :D--> Got it.

Well I feel ignored. Look Peahead, Jaysus Frigging Key Riste, you're as bad as me. We may be related. Horse phlegm. Your blanket condemnation of two people you don't know and probably never will with a rant about their intentions to feel right about themselves is so out of whack with reality it's ludicrous. You yearn to talk about religion? Read your own post. You're inflicting plenty. Is it making you feel more right about yourself to post that or are you just here on Jihad? What's your purpose? This might be the wrong place to declare a righteous war. There's plent of street corners. Which one are you going to be at this Sunday morning when all the ne'er do wells are out in their Sunday best going to church so they can get some of those religious feel goods you're so concerned about? Or do you prefer blind posting on ex-Way boards? Your statements about religion are one thing, in fact we probably agree more than we disagree but you're coming on like some Holy Knower who's going to blow fire up my skirt stating the obvious. And I don't even wear a skirt, but the draft is freezing my nads. You're starting an argument when there isn't one. Yet. Why not just state your case in a thread and discuss it? Because you're ....ed off about the sorry state of a world that sucks on a good day? Join the club. The line starts to the right. No cuts

That sounds like the ticket Tom! We're going to rent the DVD first and see what we get. That'll tend this jones for awhile anyway :D--> Speaking of which Uncle Hairy it sounds like you enjoyed the 60's. ;)--> I had a very good friend who really like them at that time. The band we were in did a couple of their tunes. "Orange sunshine". Where'd you see them? That just reminded me of the album "Children of the Future", The Steve Miller Band's first release on Capitol. I remember some of my friends scratched their heads when they heard it. "That ain't blues!" I could hear it though. Oh yeah, big buzz, great album. That sense and experience of community amongst people and the music they listen to is a big part of the enjoyment. The discovery, sharing. You could say we was out of our mind. And Let me tell you we were flyin' while blind.

Regretfully I miss a lot of birthdays on GS, but a big mighty fine and Happy Birthday to YOU! as you progress gracefully and gently in to that wonderful period known as "Older Than Snot". :D--> Don't fret, we all get there and when we do we'll be able to point to all of the younguns, scratch our itches and nod our heads with the Wisdome of the Ages and remind them that they DON'T KNOW S#%T! May all your mornings be early and your nights be on time. :P-->

Nice step by step Goey. There's a way to get around the 60 second limit - record a "blank" 60 second file and save it, call it 1, whatever. Then resave it and name it 2, etc. until you have enough total 60 second file pieces to cover the length you want to record for the new song. Then open a NEW file and Go to EDIT and INSERT and insert each one of the files you previously saved. As you do the counter total will go up, do this until you have the length to cover what you want to record. This will work from your "Now click on "record" step in your post above. All you've done is create a longer file to start with and you're going to record over it. When you save the new song, it will just save the audio that's been recorded, and not any extra blank sound. I think - it's been a while since I did this, but I'm pretty sure it will save just what you're recorded in, using your steps above.

Hey Mick, you're a fan? Couldn't tell you, I'm not a "fan" as such although he was an interesting guitar player. Only saw him one once with Pantera several years ago. It was in San Francisco, CA. and he was ragging on Metallica onstage, which I liked. He opened with about a 2 minute tirade of f*k this f*kg f*k f*k the f*k f*k. They followed White Zombie, at about twice the volume. He hauled out a big bag of weed onstage and lit up. He encouraged the audience to "stay strong, you know what I mean", and encouraged the "veterans" in the audience to help the "newbies" there for the first time, just getting into the Pantera army. He was a lot sweatier and grosser than I expected but with that much heat going you're blood pressure's going to max out, for sure. He did play some nice guitar stuff at times, very precise. None of which really says what he was all about. I don't know frankly. I don't think he made the best use of his life but a lot of us don't at times or at all. I read a lot of his interviews, checked out his technical stuff, listened to the music via my son at first and then on my own. He was a troubled person IMO, and he had reasons. What wasn't unusual about him was the fact that his perception of policitcal and social structures can be extremely oppressive. That greed runs the world for a lot of people, people that have an effect on the rest of us and that we stand to get hurt by the very people that are in a position to help. I understood his anger. In a way he expressed it better than someone who'd go out and shoot and kill someone they disagree with. The very way he died. So I dunno. What do you think?

Apparently P-Heads on sabbatical Vickles, or doing other stuff. Maybe we'll never know....

That's interesting, I've never had any trouble with Real Player. I have several players that I test audio files against to see how they sound against them. I'm using the IPod ITunes player a lot now which seems to work well. Windows Media Player is pretty much trouble free.

Here's the link to the MS Awards Certificate downloads - looks like there's quite a few! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/results....rds+certificate

Jim's got it there. Not sure how basic you need to go. You need the cd burner and a blank cd. The burner will probably come with it's own software to use and burn cd's. Mine came with Nero. If you need software to burn it you can use Realplayer ver10, free from Microsoft here I haven't used it specifically for midi files, but I'd think it should recognize that and burn it to cd. RG, not sure. Real Player should burn it, I would think. What do you mean by can't burn them...they're not recognized? Or your cd burner won't complete the process...? I'm out for the morning, hope someone can supply a concrete answer.

That was worth saying twice, johniam! :D--> "Derail isn't just a train to nowhere note": 25.00 an hour is cheap by some counts. I've given lessons on and off for 25.00 an hour. You need 15 minutes to get in and get out of the lesson, so 45 minutes of actual time on the lesson and instrument is a good amount. For a beginner a 1/2 hour is a lot as their hands are still soft. So I structure some of that time at first in to setting their instrument up and getting it right if it isn't.
-
Guitar lesson: 25.00 The smile on her face when she plays her first song: Priceless. You're doing the right thing Shellon. I hear you Zshot. But will that racquetball stuff help you to prevail in your daily life as you compete to stand victorious in the competition with the household? Will it advance you? Will it give you advantage?

"Good is where you find it", that's my motto. Some people do good for money, good ol' American Capitalistic Greed, the kind Mom used to bake. Some for Heavenly Brownie points, all the better to come early and get a good seat for the After Party. Others because they're afraid if they don't they'll go to Hell and be poked with stale pretzels for eternity by The Pillsbury Doh!boy. Still others because well gosh-a-rooski diddly oh, it's better than beating your head with a baseball bat and taking your stuff while you bleed to death on the sidewalk and people stand around watching and wondering if they call 9-1-1 on their cell, is it going to go against their daytime minutes or can they switch it over to their Verizon Anytime/Anywhere plan and save 20 cents, only to realize they have a text message incoming so it'll have to wait just a sec. The net result of good is good even when it's done by Pure Clean Altruistic Non-Religious Enlightened Ones. Or could be, in a world where people weren't afraid of knocks on their door at night, neighbors that won't put their garbage cans on the right side of the road and cars that have those DAMMED Alarm systems that go off if a cat brushes up against them and that make everyone within a 1/4 mile wish someone would at least break in to the car and steal the stupid alarm so it would it stop beeping. But no matter what the case a little bit goes a long way. Not for these girls though. This'll teach 'em.

Wow Peahead, there's got to be more to what you're saying than cookies and dances. Christian fundamentalism is what's wrong with our coutry and it's youth? That's a tad broad, don't you think? With a shotgun like that you're going to hit the neighbor's dog and then there'll be hell to pay. The proliferation of bad fashion styles has got to be in the Top 10. Have you seen some of the shoes kids are wearing? Plain evil, right there, on the street everyday. I still don't know much about this other than the article link Vickles posted, so where's the Ned Flanders Christian fluff coming from? Beause they sound like goodie two-shoes? Some people are goodie two-shoes, they want to be good. What's your alternative to that, I'm curious. You gotta be kidding.

Hey Tom H, that sounds like a good way to go. I'm not familiar with any of them. 1 might be fun, too. Blockbuster or Netflix, perfect. Tom S I just listened to some of "Universal Blues". Yow, the singer is definitely a cross between a Dylan and Lennon sound. :)--> Go speed racer, go speed race, that reminds me of some song....you can't do that, the Beatles? There's a lot of sounds coming in and out of the tunes. Nice stuff. The Redwalls

It was definitely a crumby thing to do.

:D--> :D--> :D--> You've started something now, Mat'lda! Linda, that's the England Dan and John Ford Coley song and I too for YEARS couldn't figure that line out till heard my sister singing along to it once in the car. I always thought it was "I'm not talkin' 'bout aluminum, and I don't wanna changeyer-rrmine. How about Bruce Springsteen, "Born to Run", which always sounded to me like "Wendys champs like us, baby weena bore nuh ruuuuuun..."

:D--> Don't go out tonite yer bounta frafer raht thars a bad moon on the rise I thought it was: Don't go out tonite You're bound to break your dad There's a bandoon on the rice. And I LOVED Paul McCartney. No wardrobe malfunctions, no dancing hordes of Lost Boyz and Grrlz, just one of the most prolific songwriters and performers in the world. They made a good choice this year. The Super Bowl isn't too big a gig for Sir Paul, what can you say to a guy who's written one of the most recorded songs in modern history, "Yesterday"? "Uh, we've got this football game we'd like you to play it. No, it's a really big football game". :D-->

I juat visited that section, browsed a bit. Now I also did a search at Amazon.com and they've got used "like new" copies selling for about 10 bucks. That I can deal with. The wif' bought me a baseball cap after the concert, and it was 25.00, which doesn't make me feel bad as I see that's the price they're going for at the site. Stiff price, but it's a cool hat. Next month, I'm going to get the DVD off Amazon. Su-wheet!
-
that sounds like the audience I was in jardinero! :D--> I gotta check that DVD out. Here's the Moody Blues site if you haven't visited. This page goes to the "Higher and Higher" online magazine, and has links to other sites maintained by or for the band members.
-
Belle, thanks. I just wanted to square up my animal metaphors as I may use them again. :D--> This is an interesting topic. I think there's a few twists to it that deal directly with some of TWI's beliefs and actions.

dabobbada, I lay no claim to the skunkpelt!

PP&M! Sweet! They've got some stuff that's like...aaaah. Very nice.I'd like to hear more about that! j, wanted to add - I was on the Moody Blues site and it gives the websites for band members, think they call the second drummer "the one on the right". :)--> He really does work out. I had to smile seeing Graeme Edge at times, of the original band. He's playing his stuff be he has moments when he pauses and thumps his bass pedal and then comes back in. And we saw them in a fairly small venue, and they may have been more relaxed, it certainly seemed so. I mean, they got a standing ovation from most of the crowd for just walking out. So they were amongst "friends" :D--> . He looks fit enough for his age and demeanor but the sound they're getting owes a lot to the percussion sound with both drummers. They looked like they were having a good time, we were fortunate enough to have close seats, 4th row back, right side of the floor. They certainly appeared to be down to earth about the whole thing, almost sheepish at the fact that they got huge ovations after most of their songs. Curious - do they have the "2 women" on that DVD?
