Unusual hair: Cowgirl, if you're still looking, the only version I know of Dueling Banjos is the aforementioned piece from "Deliverance". :)

Letters? Aw, geez. *DOH*! I thought we needed LADDERS! I sent out 427 aluminum... Sigh. Never mind.

I vote for "lord". It has a nice ring to it. You can give it that hissy tone, as in "Oh! Yes, My Lo-ahd", or that deep echoey sound ... " My Lord...AND MASTER!!!"

Grab my nuts... I'll swear. (sorry, somebody had to...)

Speaking of guitar tablature, I ran across this site while rummaging around on the net - it's a Who site, and has very well organized tab's of all their songs - GO HERE for an alpha list of all the Who's songs, and tab's! If you dig their tunes, it's got 'em.

It would be an honor to handle the screwing dmiller. Of the bulb, of course. If called upon I will execute these duties with honor and dignity.

Nice stuff, I-Dan. :) I've been using some of this 3-day working a little myself. I've got a version of "I Saw the Light" been working on, which may get some harp from Mr. Lingo one o' these days. I've added voice to it, such as it is and it's still rough but it's at that point where I've heard it enought time and it needs a rest now. I still has a lot of holes for other parts, here and there, but this is the idea. I've been doing different versions of the tune since the 60's. Ol' Hank Williams did a good job. This is sort of a bluesy-gospel-socky kind of thing. I Saw the Light Hit okay, it might take a bit, sort of a big mp3er here.

Bumpdee Chas! B-Man, have you gotten the kit yet? Their stuff looks like a good deal. I'm wondering what you think of it. Downloadable schematics and instructions all look good. I'm itching to hit "buy" on their Screamer clone. It's a heck-a-deal, including the mod's, a real GAS maker. I like their sound clips. Some very identifiable sounds coming out of that baby! Aaaaand, how's the Bass amp search going dmiller? EBAY is calling.....

dmiller, I'm more than happy to squeeze in some time when and where I'm needed. Somewhere in the mines of GS archives are 2 threads I did on this very question, so it's near and dear to my heart. Bulb screwing is a huge topic. BIG topic.

The "One Body" finger pointing thread. Try on the shoe.
socks replied to M. D. Vaden's topic in About The Way
Hmmm. Hmm. Hmm. "Sin". The very fact that different actions have different consequences, results, punishment and restitution indicate that there are different levels of sin, some worse than others. The unrighteous nature of man is redeemed by one righteous sacrifice, made by Jesus Christ, on behalf of mankind. So all that unrighteousness, on all levels, is accounted for. Restitution made. That would be one way of putting "salvation". That doesn't inherently define all unrighteous actions as the same, or equal to one another within that state of unrighteousness. -
If banning you is how they show they're ready to think, I'll hate to see what they do when they're NOT ready.

Roy, it's not worth it to mess around with that board, if I understand where you're coming from. It's a board for Way members, those who actively participate in the Way's activities and are happy doing so. It's not designed to house non-member posts that aren't sufficiently meek to the members and their beliefs. That's not a bad thing in an of itself, as you know. It's a free country. They're entitled to have as many little corners of the internet to themselves as anyone else. Their board is different than GS, which has a different purpose and a different set of Rules for posting. Again, the purpose of GS is to house discussion of all kinds regarding the way, all opinions, pro or con or anywhere inbetween. Information is the purpose. To get that most opinions and views are allowed free reign. The level of intelligence being posted on the board is pretty low, and that's not meant as an insult, it's just my view of what I read. Because it's designed for people who are members of the Way to post their thoughts, it does give a good view of how many brain cells are firing. Seriously - look at this post in regards to the topic of money - "What on earth is money for if not to trade it for education and fellowship (classes)?" It doesn't take a grad-student to see that statement is shallow and flat. It sits there on that thread like an ill-fed duck, barely able to lift a wing to get out of the water. Look at the response of the board moderator to the quesiton if she knows Greek and/or Hebrew... It's a great witness to what the Way leads to though. I say let 'em be. They're talking ot themselves. It's fun to eavesdrop a little but if those are the brightest bulbs in the Way at this time, well....it didn't take much to screw them in. :) Not being mean here. Just honest, per my opinion, which is of course, highly prized. I'm sure they'd feel like these comments are meant to only cut them down and not help them, but to help them I'd have to engage them in a way they don't want to engage in, that they'd surely resist. So there aren't many choices left other than to leave them in peace. WhichI will now do.

Too much love can be a dangerous thing, Roy! And you're a dangerous man. :) I guess it's a tight-nit family there. Too tight. That would be a good login name for someone - "2-Tite". It's available, and free to use to anyone of a mind to. Be my guest.

I've been running some field tests on this question, sprawled out. Did a mockup on the computer and a rendering. These are my preliminary findings: 1. The number of GSers likely needed to screw in a light bulb will depend on several factors that form an equation- the number of years in the Way between the year 1990 and 2004 Divided by the number of years "out" Plus the number of years "on" GS. Minus the number of times they've logged in over any 24 hour period in the last week. Example: "In" from 1994 to 2002 = 8 years Divided by years "Out" from 2002 to current = 4 years (rounded off) = 2 Plus number of years "On" = 4 = 6 Minus number of times logged in = 3 Total = 3 How to apply- Since it only takes one person to screw in a light bulb under normal circumstances, we'll need to replace more bulbs, burned out or not, since we have a total of "3". Adjust the number of bulbs replaced by the total result each time. I'm still working on this but wanted to post these findings. The results get really tweezed for pre-1990 years, where we actually seem to end up with a negative number of bulbs getting screwed in, and some bulbs actually ending up screwed out and unaccounted for. More work needs to be done to reconcile these anamolies, for sure.

Screwing is serious business and shouldn't be left to amateurs. I did a search for information on the word "screw" and found an online article that starts out with this: The correct definition of bolt and screw is as follows. Bolts are defined as headed fasteners having external threads that meet an exacting, uniform bolt thread specification (such as M, MJ, UN, UNR, and UNJ) such that they can accept a nontapered nut. Screws are defined as headed, externally-threaded fasteners that do not meet the above definition of bolts. Because various organizations have thoroughly confused everyone regarding this simple definition, the remainder of this article dispels several myths and discusses the full rationale explaining the above, correct definition. The article settles once and for all the truth of screwing. I recommend it to anyone seriously considering a future in it. Although it actually deals with "bolts", there's a great deal of light being shed on the screw and how it's been confused with the bolt. This explains SO much. Obviously if someone attemtps to screw when a bolt is appropriate there's going to be trouble. This is the link: http://euler9.tripod.com/bolt-database/boltdef.html It's engaging and well written. Highly suggested for those interested in doing any screwing.

Yes, it does Roy. Yes, it does.

Well, I visited, so far there's 2 posts, one from "Chris" and one from "Roy". Attendance at the New Church of the Not-Way/GS is down. But it's not Sunday yet. But - I noticed you're seeding posts on the other Way Intell board with references to your board CK. Good marketing! Roys' there too. "Jeff" responded to him, attempting to teach something about figures of speech in a verse in Mark. He names two and then says there's a 3rd "and the name of the last one escapes me at the moment..."......not that it's important of course. Aaaah. :) They mean well, I'm sure. We all do, right?

That's very cool Invisible Dan. It sounds very - "live", like it has a pulse. And the end, like a great organ! Very nice. dmiller, I don't have much to add on the bass amp stuff, Chas-L makes a good point about the durability of solid state versus tubes. As to brands, I dunno. I found out a couple years ago a great recorded bass sound is to have the mid-range boosted up, with a little less low end bass and a moderate amount of treble. So, on a range of 1-10, sort of 5, 8, 4, something like that. I've fiddled with it and there's certainly a difference in the way it cuts through with a band sound with the mid's boosted a little. On the other hand, some things call for a lot of bottom end ooomph. So you'd want some watts, as Chas states, and consistency. Tubes do fluctuate in their sound, which adds some nice things for a guitar, but for a bass I'd want more control and consistency in the output. I just like that low-end funky butt bass sound!

Pro'lly is! Hey, he's a good harp player, bet you'd like him. Mellow 'tude, great chops. Well, the weekend is rolling on out and making way for the week-start. Been messing around, again. Got a tune, one of several underway. Not quite the sound I want, but getting there. I'm looking for a sound that emulates gratuitous violence, on a guitar. Like in a movie where you think "well, I didn't really need to see THAT!" and then hit, "rewind". Need that Tube Screamer!! This shortie clip is the beginning - it's called 12:01 ... sort of a GS joke.

Sssshhhhh, dmiller. It's a secret.

Ain' that the truf! Speakin' of harpology, what do you think of Norton Buffalo, JL? Saw him couple months ago.

Elliott I'm glad they showed the percentages, because at this point, the cut is bound to be thin and it was. It was very much a 3-way split to my ears and eyes, each have something to offer that's unique. EY certainly carries hmself well. He lifted the show out of it's natural gloss and gave it a rub of humanity this year. A lot of the finalists had that it seemed, come to think of it. It seemed to have more stick to it this year. It's a little anti-climactic for me now, this was the vote I was most interested in, to see if Elliott would move on to the final week. I definitely like Taylor and Katherine though too, and the final week will be fun to watch. Hopefully that's the last time I hear the "Bad Day" song now. I hoped they wouldn't play it tonight over the end run. At this point the 3rd placer hardly had a bad day - it's just kind of a lame statement given the excitement and emotion of the event. Nice song, once was enough though.

"The Butt Probe Puts Tubes Where They Were Not Meant To Be'.... DO A DEEP PROBE HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION. An interesting device, to be sure! There are some funny quotes from that site.

Aaaaah! :) Stuff like this is GOLD. There must be some sheep somewhere breathing a big sigh of relief.
