Tom I could not agree with you less. I only hope that what is happening to me happens to you so then you can voice your opinion from a first person position. I have a right to not want to live near illegals, I have a right to want to live in a quiet wholesome area. And if it seems predjudice I do not give a rats azz. I have a right to choose where I live and if I base it upon certain factors -- well that is my right as an American So let me not make semi damning comments - let me make them out right. I do not want to live near illegals. I do not want to live near gang members. I do not want to live near people who park their car on the front lawn. Now you can attatch whatever race you want to it -- that makes you predjudice. To all others thank you We just went to a town meeting. Seems the GOVERNMENT bought section 8 housing in our area and the Katrina criminals are in them. There are huge problems. Where I work? The Doctor told me that since 2003 the average of 90 illegals are coming into that town a day. A DAY. He saw it on CNN a couple years ago and it has not slowed down

Thanks Hap if I miss read you I am sorry. I was in the middle of writing this and had to go to a town meeting on the problems. So, Hap when I mentioned that(paraphrase) I was having problems you gave me a link and I said it wasn't applicable as it was 2004 and it was the state of Georgia. Then, I think you defended your link and information with it being 7% and dismissed what I am telling you I am living througth, it seems you kept repeating it, in the first post you used the stats to say what I said wasn't true. It ticked me off. You may have been trying to help but it seemed like you were arguing with me about where I live because of something you read. Illegals are not on the radar. Anyway, you pi ssed me off. And I did not like the lady comment. If you were trying to help me - fine but you seemed to want to KNOW more about where I live than I did. Enough said

Thanks Chatty.

Okay Hap You obviously have an insatiable need to be right… You are right. I am lying about our problems they are very minor there is not a problem with the illegals. It is a small percentage and it is not ruining our way of life, What was I thinking? How could I have been so deceived? It is math! A bean counter has changed my life! Praise Jesus! I am so glad you pointed it out thank you, it will really help me tomorrow in dealing with the fantasy world I live in with 60% spanish speaking people invading where I work. God, what was I thinking? Thank you so much for your constant corrections -- they have changed my circumstances, now there is no need to move and things YOU have said make me so much more comfortable. Wow, now you can sleep well knowing YOU are always right! Thank you so much. Now, my problems are over! you are a miracle worker! I guess I can cancel the thread cause your brilliant insight has set me free. Thank you so very very much! Praise Jesus, I mean praise the all knowing Hap! Who has never been here, praise his holy name. And now that you mention it, crime hasn't gone up either another figment of my imagination! I am delivered! Poof! the Katrina people have all dissappeared as well. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Put away the Bible -- it is a math book for me! Geesh... Thanks Rhino!

Lou Dobbs just had a thing on Chinese food being the most contaminated food in the world. He showed the sewage in the fields and how the US is not inspecting it. He said some of the skin prooducts have filth in them and some food products have hepatitis A (I did not know there was an A)
-
And with the name Tony Saprano - you could make him disappear (go ahead)! Tom My parents went to China and saw skins of dogs and cats in the trash cans behind resturants. So, they went to the golden arches.

Dooj - no kids Tom And Eagle Goldsboro sounds almost exactly right -- it is near the ocean? I want to be bored. Johnny That is gorgeous! I do not know about the hubs -- but man, I would do it WW - AL is always on the news here with a tornado Thumbs down -- but thank you

Pris a small town near Knoxville came up on that test that Belle shared. It looked great. Well I saved it to a move file and just went in to tell you what it was and nothing was there....

Hap in your area the numbers may not be very different but I AM TELLING YOU and I live here, they are very different here over the past couple years AND you can not get a REAL number on illegals as they are not registered and are off the radar. I am not going to argue with a guy, a very long distance away from here, but I almost want my Doctor (for whom I work) to get on here and confirm what I am saying. It is DIFFERENT, the numbers have SOARED and even 20 miles away they (the illegals) are soaking the landscape. It is a huge problem like it was when I lived in California. We have grocery stores closing from the illegals - who live in the woods - stealing at the stores. We have health concerns as they are crapping in the woods. The mailman stopped delivering mail in one of those out coves as the illegals in the woods were craping in there. It has been growing by leaps and bounds. We have stores who closed their dressing rooms as the illegals are using them as toliets. Our Walm@rt is constantly being stolen from and my hubs has stopped two Spanish immigrants (unknown if they are illegal) from loading up baby carriages with stolen clothes -- he was just a customer and ethically had to stop them. We have had illegals pulled over by the cops, arrested in our parking lot and the examples go on and on. They are increasing, it is on the rise. But you can think you know more than I do as I have lived here over a dozen years -- and you have never been here. It is okay with me. Enjoy... Geesh....

That is funny, I thought I was writing to Waysider then changed it to Hap Funny, it did not change on yours. Sorry
-
Hap It is obvious that you and I do not desire the same things. That is okay. Live where you want. I will continue to look for what I want. That makes the world go'round. No, I do not want to be near teens. I am thinking even about a retirement area. I want a quiet, Christian, perhaps older community....etc Thanks to every one for the helpful responses. There have been some very thoughtful answers. I appreciate all posts Again, that link has 2004 stats and it is the STATE I am talking about my county. Thanks anyway!
-
Really? The survey thing did not say that. And where I work that town is now about 60% speaking spanish to 40% English. I cannot even read the signs in the area. Each day, I get about half the calls and clients do not speak English. 7% sounds better. Waysider - sorry I mean Hap In our newspaper they stated that our county was now the number one county for the illegals. I assume it is now the numebr one place they are moving OR the highest number per the actual citizens. I do not recall at the moment. It was also disscussing the Atlanta illegal problem in the paper in TNN -- about 9 months ago maybe when they disscussed the illegals living under their bridges because ATL was trying to push them out. I had the article and will look for it. Also, your stats link is from 2004 And it is referring to the state I am referring to the county.

BTW this is 2002 and the problem has gone up about 80% or so in 4 years Here is an article written by someone about my County. Leaky Borders Have Created A Flood by S. H. Topic: Behind the Badge Before anyone gets all cranked up and thinks that this article is going to condemn immigration, I am afraid that you will be disappointed. There is a divide in our country with people who fall on both sides of the issue, as to whether or not we should build the proverbial wall around our borders. Both sides have valid points with evidence to support their beliefs and theories. But, for the sake of time, let us look at how immigration, particularly illegal immigration, has affected a particular segment of our country. I am sure that none of you will be surprised to read my concern of how immigration has caused a tremendous strain on our criminal justice and judicial system. In all honesty, this particular topic had better be of concern to all of us. As I have said before, like it or not, a strong law enforcement presence is all that protects us from the anarchy that we see on CNN every night throughout the world. Here is the problem! Based on the number of immigrants that are coming across our borders, the legal system has swelled to the point that its ability to protect our country's citizens from the bad guys has been jeopardized. Now that you have heard my hypothesis, I will attempt to make you a believer. The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, better known these days as the Bureau of Homeland Security, readily admits that the numbers who pass illegally over the U.S-Mexico border is out of control. Despite crack downs at the border, every means possible is being utilized to bring illegal immigrants across the border. We have heard the terrible stories of immigrants who have died in boxcars and big rigs, but the practice is still in full swing with plenty of customers waiting to give it a try. Although the numbers of people who are being caught attempting to enter the country illegally has increased, the number of those who are not being caught is also increasing. Not only has the number of illegal immigrants increased, the number of births to illegal immigrants has also increased, with over 11,000 births in Georgia in the year 2002. As you have probably read, our homicide rate has already surpassed the 2002 year totals within the first six months of 2003. Of the total number of homicides that occurred in MY County this year, there has also been a marked increase of illegal immigrants who make up the perpetrator's list, as well as, those who have fallen victim to murder. The entire make up of our gang population most certainly cannot be labeled as illegal immigrants, but a percentage of them in fact can be. The MY County Gang Task force has now identified 171 gangs in MY County alone. Now back to my original statement. I am not a proponent of closing our borders. In fact, my opinion is quite the contrary. As the old indisputable argument goes, unless you are descendants of the Native Americans, I suppose that we are all immigrants. I am not for clamping down on immigration, but simply for making it a process that is done in a legal fashion. Our country has been richly blessed in so many ways. If there is a way that we can share these blessings with anyone, from anywhere, I am all for it. When the United States begins to stand with closed arms, rather than the widespread arms of welcome that we have always had, we will find ourselves standing alone. We must be honest with ourselves. Even thought I wish that we could, our country simply cannot accept every citizen from every country who looks to escape from political and otherwise tyranny. We must communicate with our neighbors to the South, as well as, the entire world through a program of information and education that teaches the importance of legal immigration and the rewards that immigrants will find by doing so. For those who go through this process, we should welcome and assist them as they integrate into our country's populace. On the other hand, we must not turn our heads to those who are here illegally or attempt to gain entry illegally. Our system of legal responsibility is not only a good idea for some of us but is necessary for all of us. Quite frankly, our system of justice will never be able to keep pace with the numbers if some form of control and accountability is not in place. Legal immigration, through current and potential new laws that are user friendly rather than, red tape will create incentives for those wishing to enter our country to do it the right way. One of our nation's mottos is that we are the "land of the free and the home of the brave." If we are to continue this boast, we had better add "and land of the legal." As our borders continue to leak around the seals, we must always be cognizant of the fact that leaky faucets may someday flood your entire home. I read in the newspaper a few months ago it is estimated that my County has well over 100,000 illegal aliens

Horrible just horrible

I have pekes, a whippet and two chow mixes... Some insurance companies will not insure your home if you have a chow, G. Shepherd, Pit or Rot. Good point.

Sorry, When I lived in California I was there during the riots. I traveled through LA and went to Hollywood often. I never saw the good side you speak of -- so let me clarify -- It looked like areas where I have been where houses were not kept and people sat on porches drinking beer and listening to loud music -- uncharacteristic of a woodsy - out of the way - burb. Not some of the finer areas present in any city. Notta: I also lived in San Diego before moving North of there. I LOVED it but it was out of my range then -- I am sure it is now.

Austraillia does sound good. I checked that out years ago.
-
Ummmm dear - To whom are you speaking? Did I miss something? If you are addressing me, I am fully aware of the difference. When I say illegal that is exactly what I mean. No offense but, when I wish to speak/live around people who speak english that is exactly waht I mean. I do not care if they are from Viet Nam - I want them to speak English. As long as I am moving and looking for a place to live, that place is a place that speaks English - be they here legally or not. AND I prefer to be around legal citizens. Our ILLEGAL problem is huge. HUGE. We have clients who give us fake identification cards and they are too stupid to use the same name then on our new client sheet. Examples are numerous. We have been over run by illegals. Illegals.

Out there and Lone Yeah...

Sudo-I did not know of the razors -- maybe we can have an allie allie in free day and wipe out the cruel and heartless. (For anyone monitoring from an agency -- I say this in jest to push a point)

Free I was going into the recall stuff and the Chinese thing and found both of these stories. Both newsworthy. Both make me rethink bringing in FOOD from these people. I can see how it might look redundant to have two Chinese threads But I am truly concerned about them being a food source. I had it all together but it was two different topics really. Poison food and animal cruelity -- unless it could be gathered under "Are the Chinese idiots in this area?" After the recall and seeing pets die, old lady owners crying their hearts out with their dead clump of fur, I have strong feelings about what we are doing. (kiss, strong words not angry at you dear Free) And what they did to their citizen's pets after what 3 people got rabies -- The clubbing of the dogs in their answer to rabies -- not vaccinations. The chinese have had lttle respect for life -- remember the drowning of the little girls? or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Squ...rotests_of_1989 I know I am ranting but I am pi ssed. We buy and eat and feed pets food from them. China is not our friend and have been anti-American. I know my Dad's WWII generation, would never have fought Germany and continued to bring in food from them. But our corporations do not fly a USA flag -- they fly the money flag.

Our home, with the bad market and the change may have dropped about $30,000.00 It was my only savings plan BTW, about a personal walk, I do not believe God wants me to stay. I am investigating other areas, I believe God wants to grant the desires of my heart. This isn't.
