We just had a new carpet put in -- 3 weeks ago and they are peeing. When I catch them I yell NO. The penny thing is a good idea. Part of the problem is sometimes I will find the pee and am unsure who did it. Makes me crazy! Thanks for the penny shaking idea. Dot Matrix

Rottie: My dogs have accidents. I mean, they are out in our fenced yard 4 times a day for about 30 minutes a time and one will come in (not always the same one either) and pee on the rug. What do you suggest? Yes, I am glad my hubby is into pets. It was very important to me. I wanted a non-smoker, pet lover who believed in God and had similar political views... Loving pets was VERY BIG! Perhaps you should date a vet. Now how to go about meeting a single one? Mmmmmm how would one do that? By the Way, why don't you get a larger bed? At least a Queen? My latest dog was a little French bulldog/chow mix he was playing in a 4 lane hwy with an 18 wheeler bearing down the road. I pulled over and got him! He had No tags, nothing ever was placed in the paper or at the shelters. I knocked on the houses all around the area to no avail. So, I kept him. Named him Ozzy. Rusty was a rescue someone dumped by a grocery store. He was shaggy and dirty. He was also hit in the head and had a lump etc. Poor thing. He taught himself how to open the grocery store door by stepping on the black automatic mat. Then, he walked up to folks and tried to be cute! He rolled around and flirted with people begging for a home. Nobody was impressed so they called Animal control on him. I grabbed him and took him home -- 9 years ago. The 2 peke's are from peke rescue, named one Murphy and the blk one Cinders. The 5th is a peke/Tibbie who is so precious - her name is Tipper. Our first dog "Baby" - also a peke just died in October. I'll tell you what, it near killed me-- that dog meant the world to me.... Very sad. But I just love pets and I am so glad to see all of you loving them as well! Rottie I love that thing about the dog will be outside, okay inside but not on the furniture... My husband and I rocked out on it. We sleep in a king sized bed with all 5 dogs!!!!! The only thing about having an outdoor cat is their life expectancy is 3 years. An indoor cat's is 17 years. So, I guess it is back to you need two pets!!!! Dot Matrix

Posh! Wow Petsmart sells dogs in your state? Here Petco and Petsmart only has rescues come in every Saturday and Sunday and set up adoptions. You can check with some rescues like the Peke rescue will fly one to you at your cost. They have people who are flying and will take one with them it is around $50.00. Now, they have a transport of volunteers to drive them. The dachshonds also have a network where one will drive it so many miles and the next so many miles to get it to you. The story Ex on that site is nothing like the movie. Did the meaning change when it was filmed? For instance when Tommy's mother is in her pristine white room. She sings a song in her not very good Ann Margaret singing voice. Then she throws a bottle at the TV. The TV breaks and weird things start to flow out of it -- like dark liquid and red stuff with white pasta looking things. Mom rolls around in each substance then she grinds her vagina on a huge long pillow shaped like a large long (like 7 feet long) neck roll. Represents a penis? Do you know why when Tommy finds religion everyone lives in silver pods and he kills his parents? I dunno - the site tells a story that is not shown in the movie. Someone screwed up the film then. Zix- I think someone needs to visit the "acid queen" of Tommy to understand the Rocky Horror Picture show. I did not like poodles until I began to groom. They are very smart! Low allergies, they do not shed and they are easy to train. They do need to be groomed and combed at home. You could get a clipper and keep a 5 blade and do it yourself. I have changed my mind about the poodle. They are neat little dogs. But you will need to do alot of combing or they will matt. But the bark may have him thrown out of his apartment and you have to keep their "folds" clean as they can smell -- same with a Shar-Pei and a Basset Hound although the Basset has less folds. But yes, he could get a job hunting down criminals with his blood hound! Another neat dog is the Japanese Chin and the Tibetian Spaniel. The Tibbie has energy but has great health. The Japenses Chin is a great apartment dog. But again to leave her alone for long periods might bum her out. Firebee -- can you get two animals? Socket you may want to look at a Japanese chin they are hearty little dogs as is the Tibbie. But you will need to comb them. The Tibbie does not have fur it has hair. You would like a dog that is lazy. One that does not need to be walked or alot exercise. You may like a low maintenance dog that does not have big poops as it will be going on the papers while you have a 12 hour day. Most dogs need more attention than that so you may consider a cat. OR a french bull dog does not need much exercise. Their short hair will not need a groomer to cut the hair--. But see if you can get two pets. They will keep each other company. A great small dog is a yorkie but they need lots of attention and a man working 12 hours a day would be cruel for them. A Basset Hound does not need much exercise, a chow mix is nice as they are loyal and they usually are happy to lay around. I say a mix so you can look for a small version of a chow. Also check into the habits -- if it is a chewer-- being alone for 12 hours will not be a good thing. I have peke's they are lazy but they like attention. (They never chewed anything they should not have. I also have two chow mixes -- very loyal and lazy as well.) So, you can get two peke's. Dot Matrix

Now is a great time to check the rescues. People get dogs/cats for Christmas and then they do not want the work. So sad. So many are dumped. Where I work I groom a dog that was left at 9 months old in a box in the middle of a parking lot. A wonderful dog that someone left in the back yard then moved. Another dog that was rescued as kids tied it to a trash bin and were beating it and throwing rocks at it.... On it goes..... Just check with the rescue group on the temperment, some abused dogs do not recover from the fear and do snap. They are better in an all adult home. I do not know where you are but a friend of mine in Jersey is looking for a home for a black lab that is two years old. It did have a health problem that a holistic vet might be able to clear up. The Bishon thinks it is a family member and will want to go on all your trips with you. The Englsih Spaniel is not a one person dog but a family dog. It has a sweet nature and I would trust it around kids. Also it is not too small but hearty enough to withstand playful children. The Boston being a terrier may like to dig and get out of a fence. Also alot of terriers are one person dogs. The spaniel should not be a big digger which is a plus. Rottie, don't ya just love knowing another pet will get a good home with socket? Dot Matrix

Of course that is only when he is not checking himself out at the theater....Mmmmmm The popcorn throwing and audience participation was something that happened later. I do not think it was intentional. But considering how awful the movie was perhaps the first one to throw something at the screen was because they paid $8.00 to see a sucky film and from there it grew to tossing toast etc. Rottie: And what is with the old guy in the wheel chair who gets up and has on a garter belt? I also like the Time warp. I tried to reasonably figure out Tommy. It was written during the time when cults were popping up everywhere. Perhaps it was a kid whose parents never saw or heard him. So he joins a cult let's call the cult -- TWI. Then, he gets so involved with it he becomes the object of worship -- translation he goes in the corps and becomes ordained. Then, he kills his parents -- symbolic for not being able to go home to be with your family when you were a WOW. I still do not get the swimming and climbing a mountain however. HOW COOL! I have some info to pass along and it may help or not -- Check into Southern Hope Humane Society. They have lots od displaced "kids". I would not buy from a pet store as most of the time they get animals from non-reputable breeders but rather from puppy mills. Puppy mills are a place where they use pets like breeding stock. They jam pipes down the throats of their dogs to debark them, many times breaking their jaws and not fixing them It is an evil system and many groups are rescuing dogs from these places and trying to close them down. (Pull up HUA Hearts Unite for Animals to read about it) It is best to go to a reputable breeder and you can locate one via the inter net. Depending on the size of your children I would either suggest or not suggest a small dog. Many little children view small dogs as toys and the fall on them breaking their legs or giving them eye injuries as is the case with many/some peke's that have been rescued. If you want a low maintanence dog a Boston is good as the hair does not need much grooming. You can pull the breed up on the inter net and read about its temperment and history of health. A Bishon, poodle or a Boxer are great if you have allergies. But the Bishon needs to be groomed regularly. A great family dog is an English spaniel. The American Cocker snaps too frequently and can be moody. The English spaniel is medium sized and has a great temperment. (I have recently jumped industries and have become a dog groomer.) Please check into the correct food as grocery store food is made from lab animals, road kill, euthanised pets and diseased animals. The grains they use are moldy and is rejected for human consumption. Try Canidae or Wellness. You can look them up on the inter net for a store near you. God Bless on your decision! Mike: I did not read all 9 pages of this thread. So, you may have already addressed this. But I am speaking to you and will move to a table for two if I figure out how. Mike: In reading your original posts it seems you have been trying to figure out WHAT HAPPENED. Perhaps, taking the PFAL class at the time you took it -- saved your life. It did mine. Maybe you have been still looking for a way to save the ministry. I tired to save it as well. Mike, I do not fault your enthusiasm nor do I fault your efforts to save something that helped you. But so much has been revealed in the past 17-20 years that I think you need to catch up on what others have contributed to our understanding of VPW and TWI. Neither of which were/are squeaky clean. The parts of the PFAL class which helped you are not because of some guy who figured out how to exploit the Bible, but because God loves you and the parts of the Bible VPW did not corrupt in his class (which he stole from other ministers and did not get huge revelation with Giant "D's" and "L's" looming over greek words. That was part of the sensationalism he added to other men's hard work) are the parts of God's heart that were able to work despite VP's attempt to make himself a wealthy institution. God loves you. Take any good you were able to glean and throw out the rest including the obvious way you hold VP on a pedestal. Put Jesus up on that pedestal and you will begin to heal. Perhaps some info on the former GS site would help you if anyone has access to it. It was a thread close to the end of the other GS before we moved (the date) and it was something like Did TWI start out evil or become evil? You will hear from many people that were around VP from the begining. It will shock you and the truth will set you free. VP was not a nice man. But God is still a great God. Okay. I am a adult who grew up during the 60/70's. I was in TWI and never saw Rocky Horror nor did I see Tommy until after I left TWI. I guess I watched them because now I could watch them without having to go to a meeting to be delivered of the demons I would get from viewing them. :D--> So, I sit down and watch it on TV. I have NO idea what any of it means. I dabbled in the symbolic nature and still do not get it. Rocky Horror: He is a transsexual from outer space? The symbolism eludes me. Janet and her boyfriend are lost and find their way to "Rocky's house". They each have an affair with the transsexual thinking he is someone else at first. Rocky is created for the transsexual but doesn't like his transsexual creator. A biker shows up (Meatloaf) and dies. They all fall into a swimming pool and the house goes up into space. Tommy: He can not see or hear but he looks into the mirror all the time. His Mom pushes him through the mirror then he can see and hear. He gets into religion. Then he becomes the religion and the object of worchip. His parents join him. Then some bikers (again with the bikers) show up and Tommy kills his parents. Then goes swimming and climbs a mountain. I always wondered about John and it would be a tragic loss if he was the person that was that mean in his leadership. I hope it was not. I know more about dog food but I can help you. Around 1930 the beef and chicken producers had parts of the animal they could not use, as it was not fit for human consumption. The rice manufacturers had the same problems. They came up with pet food. They use the beaks and feathers of chickens and the run off from rice, which has no nutrition value at all and called it pet food. Then, they taught the Vets to say "do not give your pets people food." Well, before the 1930's the dog and cat ate what you ate. (Except onions and chocolate) The pet food manufacturers were using a lot of grain in dog and cat foods. Grain is not good for them (as the main ingredient). They are carnivores. Cows eat grass and "what not" as they have more than one stomach to digest all of this stuff. The digestive tracks on the dog and, I believe the cat, are shorter. Anything in the grocery store is usually full of fillers and allergens.
