Kit and Lindy - thanks! Wacky Fun: I must have missed that chapter or flipped past it....pee sticks? Where do you buy them and what are they called? WOW! I have been peeing right in the toliet no sticks here! Bad Bad Dot! His fruit stuff is so small though -- like a 1/4 cup of berries -- what is that? 8 berries? I am a big fruit consumer -- I miss my banana and strawberry, OJ smoothie! Rottie: You were very clear. I was just ignoring the weight thing because I am lazy and do not want to do that. You are not pushing. I am pretending I do not have to do any excercise and Weight lifting sounds like something that committed gym people do. I am so not into it. Rottie I am not like you. I hate to sweat. I know that is part of the problem but I guess I do not want to look at it right now. I even have purple little dumb bells and wrist weights. You are wonderful Rottie! I am a bad girl! Dot Matrix [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 20, 2003 at 13:03.] -

Socket Congrats on the kitty! Sorry, the pictures here are of available dogs at the rescue -- they are not mine. I have tried to post a picture from my computer on here and I can not figure it out. I was able to post one from a web site- in this case the rescue. They are cute! If anyone is still searching for a doggie or two! I love the name Oreo for the kitty. Let us know when you pick a name. It is half the fun as someone else mentioned.... I am going to try my picture again... Dot Matrix [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 19, 2003 at 16:33.]

Steve - I am very sorry! I think I am in okay health. My problem is that I had a hysterectomy and the gave me hormones. The Dr. gave me something like 8 times the amount I should have had. But I did go to an internist and they said the Over Dose of hormones may have messed up my metabolism a bit. What a shame your wife tried so hard to just have all that happen to her. It must have bee very depressing for her. I have less to loose than she did and it still bothers me. Bless her heart. God Bless you Steve. I am sorry for your loss. Rottie: Thanks for the info I think I may get a Richard Simmons video and a yoga one. I do like to swim and was swimming early this year 3 times a week. 2 life - glad to hear about how well it worked for you. I bought some Atkins bread which is the WORSE tasting bread I have ever eaten. I can not believe where carbs are -- carrots have them, banana's are loaded... I miss fruit. Dot Matrix -

Gee Larry "So tell me, how come all you women are so fat?" Gosh, that was not a line from How to Win Friends and Influence People :)--> Dot Matrix -
Those of you in search of small dogs? Look at these: http://www.boxerrescue.com/availabledogs/O...ulietPA1002.JPG These are available through the Boxer rescue (I don't know why.) Cute little Shi- tzu's aren't they? Dot Matrix

Geoy- I am so sorry about your dog! 19 years old!! That dog did not want to leave you!!! Socket --Beagles are nice and can be an inside dog. They are sure full of energy and sometimes chew! If you like the beagle you really may want to chek the Boxer they are GREAT family, inside dogs that live to give love. They are medium sized. (I am with you. I would never get a Pit bull -- why risk it?) Look at Emma 1 1/2 yr old Boxer needs a home http://www.boxerrescue.com/availabledogs/A.../EmmaNY0301.htm http://www.boxerrescue.com/ Rosie was a breeders dog and is gorgeous and needs a home http://www.boxerrescue.com/availabledogs/A...RosieNY0301.htm Hope: I have only seen one Bansenji - aren't they the dog that does not bark? And Westie's are adorable! Dot Matrix Rosie LOVES kids!!!! She is in New York. SOCKET: Found this about kids and Boxers: "The American Boxer Club , the parent club of the American Boxer, developed a Standard that describes what the ideal Boxer should be. However, we think the ideal Boxer is the one who becomes a full-fledged family member, whether champion-bred or not. Boxers are definitely the clowns of the canine world! They are intelligent and resourceful and just a touch strong-willed, which means they are not the right dog for everyone. They are listed as one of the best breeds with children - usually #1 or #2 on such lists, along with the Golden Retriever" [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 15, 2003 at 17:15.]

Thanks for all the good hints and tips. I will prolly so Atkins for 2 months and give it a shot and yes, Sudo I do not think it is a good diet for the long haul. PMosh - I do like the Japanese style eating so maybe I will adapt that after the weight is off. Act 2 - I am an A+ and apparently that IS the Japanese kind of eating!!! Abagail- I threw out my salt shaker about 9 years ago. I like the idea of 5 small meals a day rather thatn 3 larger ones - thanks! I do drink LOTS of water! I love your step #10. At dinner I try to be a lady... I love it! Cause around pizza I think I have not been ladylike but rather I eat a "Jethro" size portion! Zix- How true to wait until one is actually hungry. I do think eating has become mechanical to me. I like the half a piece of pie tastes as good as a whole one! Also, do you think it is all the preservatives in American food vs. Italy? I can not drink beer in the USA as I turn red and find it hard to breath. But in Canada I can drink a LaBatt's and I am fine. Someone there told me we put preservatives in our food/drinks that other countries BAN the use of! That some cerial companies in the US actually make a different cerial to be exported! I do not know if all that is true. All I know is I can drink beer in Canada. Rottie I love Richard Simmons 'cause he is so real. He does not have a bunch of slender models exercising but he has real people. He has some huge woman out there sweating to the oldies that can not do some great "Hollywood" type dancing. I do like his stuff. Maybe I will get his video. I have also thought about yoga. Has is that for weight loss? I figure if it is relaxing and I can loose weight iit would be like a 2 birds-- 1 stone type of thing. Simpleton- That site reminds me of a book I read about 20 years ago called "Sugar Blues" I will reread the info on your site. Sounds a little like Atkins about sugar. Thank you Larry P - Well, your weight maybe the same because of all the head hair you lost... (Why are woman so fat? Grrrrrrrr) Ex- I will help you kick his ars... :)--> Bookworm - you are right about that! Whenever I get lazy and eat lunch out at work -- I have horrible weight gaining results. Just gets so time consuming making it all -- ya know? But yeah, that is a great point. Thanks Anymore diets? Dot Matrix -

QQ I am laughing! That was really funny!!!! Dot Matrix -
Okay it is time to peel off the pounds! I am excited... However, since taking HRT it has changed my relationship with food. Let me smell a doughnut and boom -- I gain a pound. I did WW in the past when I had to struggle with 10 -15 pounds and it worked! But then HRT and the magic of WW did not work. I tried the low cal thing but my body goes into protection mode and thinks I am starving. Did the cabbage soup thing -- okay for 10 days but who can eat that forever? Now, I am trying the Atkins low carb thing. So far so good. But I have trouble with a diet that does not endorse fruit or vegatables... The upside is I eat cheese burgers (no bun) dripping in buttered mushrooms..... Mmmmm not bad eh? I did do one that was high protein and you only ate certain veggies and fruit.... But as many veggies as possible.... I LOST before but now I can not find the diet. Who is out there doing what? Dot Matrix

AF- Good observation DJanet - I do not recall that series, maybe it is on the site that was mentioned in one of the previous posts by Steve Zix - Okay, now we all know you are way better looking then Mr. French! Afterall, you are a star! So, I get the conversation and it was not a reference to anything people ever said to you.... Sorry.... Dot Matrix -
Frank: my parents have a 10 pound yorkie/pom or a dangzu/pom(unsure) it is the cutest smartest little thing!!! Everywhere they go people ask them what kind of dog is that? We want one.... Some of those mixes are just adorable! And sweet as can be! Rottie: What a cute little dog! Looks like a rot! My French bulldog/chow looks like a little redfox or small chow. If I could figure out this new picture thing I would show you. Dot Matrix [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 15, 2003 at 8:00.]

Titles of the threads I want to post: Did any of you want to sleep with Weirwille? Did any of you really understand corps night? Are there any of VP's love-children out there? Did anyone actually like Craig's FRO in the 70's? Dot Matrix -

WOW Steve, a shorter list would be what wasn't he in! Thanks! Rottie: He was the clown in IT? I did not know that! The clown was really scary. Dot Matrix -
JJ- I looked at the site you posted. That little sadie AKA Hilti is so cute! She has been at the shelter for over a year and apparently is well behaved. Stuff like that breaks my heart. Zix- Our vet had many cats roaming around that lived in his office. HE was such a great guy who just retired. Congrats on the 5 cats! We have 5 dogs. Re: American Cockers. There are some nice ones for sure --to those of you that have a good one. I have a white one that comes into the shop that is a dream dog. But out of all the dogs I groom I have been bitten by Cockers more than any other breed. On Groomers.com there was a past discussion on Chows and several people said the were frequently bitten by the Cockers and were more worried about them then Chows. IMO and from what I have read it is due to bad and over breeding. Shame, cause they are beautiful! But yes, ya never know. I had a Golden Retriever that was so amorous I am sure we were married in 12 states. But when I touched his rear he knocked me down and stood on my throat. Later, I found he had been shot by a BB gun by some stupid kid and the dog was very protective about his butt. There is alot to be said for a pup, but the first two years expect alot of work with them! I got dogs that were over 2 yrs and under 2 yrs. And the over 2 yrs ones were easier for me to adjust to them! Calmer.... Pray you get the right dog and you will Congrats FB on the pup. Hope: your dog is so sweet looking! Anyone know an older person willing to take an older dog? http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/id212.htm She is cute! Here is another sad story about puppy mills. Look how cute this rescue is! She was 1.4 pounds when rescued! http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/id127.htm Dot Matrix [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 14, 2003 at 16:32.]

Rocky Horror/Tommy..... Means?
Dot Matrix replied to Dot Matrix's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Well, I guess I have to stay up to midnight, make some toast, find my old tap shoes and go to the theater. Chinson: People used to write in and offer to ce bitten by Barnabus Collins!!! Remember Willie Lumis... I was always frightened for him. Carolyn was a ditz, but I liked Victoria Winters. Abagail: I never saw Harold and Maude or Clockwork Orange. But remember the Beatles "Yellow Submarine?" Firebee: Thanks for the lyrics! I do LOVE the time warp. Pirate: I think alot of men wanted to see Ann Margrett wet and rolling around. Oak: Sorry I do not know of Swift Kick --and I am from Philly. Did they play the Time Warp? You must have thought them to be strange to hear the music and not have heard of the movie first.... I imagine.... Dammit Janet-- So that is how you got your name? I guess it is better than hearing them yell "Janet you s---t" That would have been a really bad nick name! Yan: I love Tim Curry. But what else was he in after RockyHPS? My husband and I were trying to figure that out. Zix: People call you Mr. French? Yeah, that would irritate me... But he was sophisticated! HWY- I wish I sneaked out to the show while in the corps. That would have been so much fun compared to the stiff old Emporia laws. MJ- you too? A fan? Damn it Janet! I wonder if Susan Sarandon has ever lived that down. Datway: Did you go as a kid or an adult or both? Somewhere I heard they stopped allowing kids to throw things. Theaters sure must have gotten mad at all the goo they had to clean up! I would have been! OR charged alot of money to include the cost of clean up. Okay, I guess it doesn't make sense intentionally Dot Matrix -
I was not in their WOW family but I was a WOW when they were in Arkansas. Wondering where each of them is and how they are? Dot Matrix

Red Great story. I hope some innies read it and become outies. Thanks for sharing. Dot Matrix

The peke rescue was $150.00 for the dog. SHHS was around the same. They will be spayed and up on all their shots. (Spaying costs about $90.00 and shots about $30.00 so the $150.00 is not making them any money.) BUT some rescues charge $250.00 for young dogs like a yorkie. If the dog is older they charge less. My pet mixes (mutts) are more intelligent -I believe - then my pure breeds. Breeders have over-bred many breeds to the end they have messed them up. The Irish Setter was over-bred to the point it has lost its intelligence. The breeders were trying to get a thin sleek face. The English bulldog was over-bred to the point they can not mate on their own anymore. They have to be inseminated. Isn't it sad? But the English Spaniel has not been over-bred and it really a great dog from all I have heard. So some mutts can be the best. The thing is when you get a dog from a reputable breeder you have a better shot at a healthy mellow dog. Good breeders are to stop breeding dogs with health problems or bad temperments. Yes, with a mutt or puppy mill dogs you do not know. I was fortunate to get GREAT rescues! If you call a rescue group they can tell you about the animal. They tey to see how the dog is with other animals, children, left alone etc. So, a rescue is a good way to go -- or the reputable breeder, IMO. God bless! God Bless! I hope you find your new best friend soon! PS it has become all about money. I was at a dog show and was watching and chatting with the groomer for a peke. The peke had a small white mark on her face -- the groomer pulled out a SHARPIE magic marker and colored in the spot! I said "that can not be good for the dog..." She ignored me. The white spot could have cost them the prize money..... So, you can see how the breeders tried to breed in a wider chest on the bulldogs and sleeker faces on the setters to win the cash. Because that is what the judges like to see. Unreal, huh? [This message was edited by Dot Matrix on January 13, 2003 at 18:12.]

I LOVED DARK SHADOWS! And yes, I saw it was back on and watched it and it was awful!!! I saw Panic in Needle Park when I was a teen -- loved it! Then, years later I saw it and it was terrible -- did not stand the test of time. Ya know, The Wizard of OZ is still one of my favorites -- go figure. Maybe one needs to smoke a j to understand those movies and that is something that has been left behind long long ago. Maybe I will watch it on an Efforx or St. Joh's Wart and see if it is any better. Pirate- why was she rolling in the beans and chocolate? What did that indicate? Dot Matrix
