Well said: "Healing the heart was no longer important; perfecting the flesh was the present truth of the day." I love that! It is so true!

Who Was The Most Loving Non-Human in The Way?
Dot Matrix replied to Oakspear's topic in About The Way
When I was in TWI and a twig leader. I had two cats. One named Ernie and the other "Bushy-Bushy" *Sigh* They were wonderful. I hope pets go to heaven. -
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I think we are in agreement about much. Many times I did not feel this way with your posts. I felt somehow you were defending VPW and condemning the corps. It always baffled me as VPW is the one who "led the corps" now he did have those under him on each campus (his axe men) but it was his philosophy and his "approved research" and thinking that we were taught. I did know him personally. After reading your response, although you and I will never know for sure, I have a feeling if you had REALLY known VPW you would not have liked him and you would have seen where "the bad corps" got much of their guidance. you said: You know, because those ten (hypothetical)loving believers wanted to do more for God, they probably went into the corps and there they were striped of their dignity, individuality and, sometimes if they sold out to VP's corps program, their conscience. Personally, I did not go in the corps so I could launch a reign of terror on people. I did not go in because I needed respect. I had a house, a converted barn "house" it was large. The kitchen was almost as large as half the house where I currently dwell. I had a job, the pay from which I have never been able to duplicate, I had a car that was only a couple years old and it ran and I had money in the bank. But I still needed Jesus. And I wanted to help others get to know that Jesus. The "corps" was VPW's program designed for the committed. It was marketed as a great place, "The Way living in Love" where you would be learning about things like how to help people, healing and most of all love. I wanted to dedicate myself to God and to help people. I was as dissappointed in the "corps program" as you were with the results in most of the people you met who were corps. But I did want you to know Weirwille was behind the training. JAL was being nice to us and the BOD came down to scream at him because he was TOO nice and after all we were not in a "country club". VPW was the Prez at the time. JAL, at that time, was funny, respectful of people, and kind. Then, IMO, he wasn't We both saw very nasty corps. Horrible empowered people. We just do not agree on how they got that way. I believe it was VPW and you, not knowing him, I guess kinda leave him out of the equation. Thank you for your response.

Galen I am curious, and not being mean by asking this, but I am curious. You seem to defend the class and VPW with regularity but you bash the corps with the same frequency. I was just wondering how that can be? Those of us who were decent people who loved God and went in the corps to serve God had to deal with the same ROTTEN corps you dealt with. I will grant you many of them were nasty, ego maniacs that caused much harm. But MANY if not most of the rotten corps were in the "inner - circle" or close to it (as they were sold out, just not brought into the "secrets" yet.) But who do you think was leading the corps to be self-serving? Who do you think was telling us it was okay "to get your needs met" at the expense of the believer? BTW you are correct about corps that were kept in smaller twig positions, those of us that were kept in "smaller" positions were the ones fighting against that school of thought. So, we did not rise as we were not "the cream of the crop". We were “bad” corps. And as with you, with the exception of Joe Guarini and my experiences with Ralph D., most of the other experiences with those close to VPW were bad ones. I was just wondering how you can be in two different camps? You seem to think the guy who was leading the corps in their "ways" was a great man, yet those he mentored and trained were all horrible? I am interested in why you seem to feel this way. Those that sold out to VPW’s monkey business were the bad corps of whom you speak. Those who were nice to people and refused to use them, were viewed as the "bad corps" by TWI because we would not sell the Weirwille philosophy. (This is not a mean spirited post I am just curious)

I will add it because it is good! Raf said Of course no one has a corner on truth, although some people are attempting to corner the market on lies. "

((((Mo)))) I am speechless... I recall LCM preaching about the corps being the cream of the crop and how we should be choosing the "healthy" ones and not allowing the sickly into the corps. At that point, I remember thinking what about the "spiritually" healthy? Shouldn't that be a factor? He seemed to think that tall thin atheltic types were able to walk with God. Where shorter rounder people couldn't....

Shaz I was going to say that, not as well as you did, but to share how a man with such a huge ego could be depressed and on meds. Mind you, it had nothing to do with the fact HE MIGHT BE WRONG, but everything to do with the "injury" HE suffered at the hands of Geer and other believers... I also heard of the depression and meds from a reliable source.

On Catcup's Is it just me? The face of evil is not like on the movie of the week: snarling, drooling, an evil glint in the eye. The face of evil is smiling, confident, but lying with impugnity. The face of evil is convinced he is entitled. Shazdancer

I refer you to those pesky house chores Catcup's posts Speaking of a woman who died and the fact that she had collected porcelain angels was proclaimed to be the reason of her death. This shows the "mind set" of the death threat: Catcup GS Regular posted March 22, 2004 13:59 Yes, this man still wanted to be part of The Way International. Even after the Limb Coordinator blamed him for practically murdering his own wife because he didn't "take the lead" in his family and forbid his wife from collecting figurines... And everyone that had been marked and avoided in that fellowship also wanted desperately to come back to TWI even after this woman's death was laid at their feet because they never "confronted" her for having angels in her home... These people were desperate to come back to fellowship, even though at this woman's funeral, the Limb Coordinator took over the funeral contrary to the woman's mother's wishes, making a circus out of the event and treated the grieving mother like a piece of trash at her own daughter's funeral... This group of about 5 -6 people grasped our welcome back to fellowship like drowning people reaching for anything that floats in a hurricane. Why? Because they truly believed that a woman could physically die because she had porcelain figurines in her home, and... Because they truly believed that they were indeed responsible for the physical death of a woman they dearly loved, and... Because they were crushed under a ton of Way-induced guilt, and... They were afraid of what might happen to THEM if they remained on the outside of God's perfect "household." In other words, they were deathly afraid they would die too, if they weren't allowed back inside. This man finally got rid of her clothing and angel collection, but still held on to several pieces of antique furniture, and the little pet dog that his wife loved so well. But when M*rk W*ll*ce found out he kept these things, and that the stepdaughter was being babysat by her unbelieving grandmother, he was angered. W*ll*ce demanded that I require this poor man to forbid his stepdaughter from being around her grandmother. Understanding the strong family bonds I was being asked to break and what that would mean, I asked M*rk, "What do you want me to tell him if he refuses?" To that he replied, "You tell him Who does he want next in his family to die!" Faithful Way Corps that I was at the time, I was very torn at what I was being asked to do. I sat down with this man and told him I understand this is difficult, but this is what M*rk was asking him to do. When I told him that M*rK W*lla*e demanded his stepdaughter never be cared for by her grandmother again, this man broke down in tears. And at this time, I too, began to cry. He told me he simply could not ask his mother in law to never see her own flesh and blood granddaughter again. This grown man shook with sobs at the thought of having to do this. He said he couldn't. Then I had to tell him what M*rK W*ll*ce told me to tell him. Yes, I told him. I will admit to being M*rk W*llace's wicked messenger. I did it. I told him while crying, but I told him. This grown man totally broke down in front of me. And I could not take it. I told him he would have to make a decision. But I made up my mind I would never ASK him whether or not he was going to comply. I simply didn't want to know. I felt like it was none of my business. So I never asked again, and he never offered to tell me. It was that night that my husband and I agreed that we could no longer do to people what The Way International was asking us to do to them. It was cruel and inhuman. Not too long afterwards, we stopped running our fellowship. Several months after that, I made the decision to never go back to one. This death outside The Way issue is something Craig actively and vociferously taught-- and I was present when he said before an entire auditorium of witnesses, that he wished God would give him revelation that he could "just pray and CERTAIN people would just DROP DEAD!" People in TWI are STILL deathly afraid to leave the organization for fear that they will drop dead.
