I'm going to date myself but that's ok. What was your favorite location and why. I liked the fairgrounds in Lima the best. The showers at the high school gym beat the make shift hot water at headquarters.

OK thats a low blow comparing him to past leadership. He's at least a little better than that

When dealing with the Middle East I think we need to follow two Americans from the past. One General in Nam said KILL THEM ALL AND LET GOD SORT THEM OUT. A little of this and they wouldn't mess with us. The next was Teddy Roosavelt. WALK SOFTLY AND CARRY A BIG STICK They respect those thoughts. I'm votin for Bush Kerry will give us away to make everyone happy

About twelve years ago I ran into a couple that had been in Austin with TWI. There are more people out there than you think. Thankfully most people are ex.

Ok hereare how you spell some sounds PSSSSSSKKKK = PSSSSSSKKK Schuuu = Schuuu and of course the most important one is Piter Pater. Thats the sound of Kimberly (cute secratery) going to fetch me a cup of Java. If she could only make it as good as the coffee shop.
-
The first thing to remember is not to use white out on the sreen to correct typos. Had to throw that monitor out. But cleaning the screen. Thats a novile ideal. Damn I think I might get my secratery to do that after she gets me a cup ot coffee. Sorry I'm just having fun

Renouncing The Word Because of Others' Sins
ex70sHouston replied to oldiesman's topic in About The Way
I my be some dumb Southern Baptist. But I still check every teaching out against what I've learned. Ya know GA. It may be simple but it works. -
Ya Know. I was called out. I've been called to many things. I know now that my little forray into TWI messed some of that up. O well get over it and get moving. Cowboyupit.

Renouncing The Word Because of Others' Sins
ex70sHouston replied to oldiesman's topic in About The Way
Everyone else has waded into this so here goes. When I left TWI I slowly rejected evry teaching by VPW. It has taken many years before I could accept anything he said. The best and greatest teaching from twi is strait out of the word. Study to show thyself approved. If YOU can go to the word and prove a teaching then accept it. If YOU can't prove it. Walk out or shot the bastard. -
To whom much is given, Much will be required. I look at it this way. When I tithe I am doing what God wants. If an organization (TWI) wastes the money. They have to stand before God, not me. Is it OK to sell Gods word for profit? Id have to do a lot of prayer before I crossed that bridge. But hey, I got out because of doctrin back when they didn't want anyone to leave. I didn't even need a deprogramer.

Lets get back to the topic. Guys like them big. Women like them long. My wife wishs that I'd forget about the subject. But hey, everyone likes squash.

SC it just might be time to find a place that actualy believes in God. OR You have a great missions field right in front of you. Sometimes we miss the greatest mission field there is. The "christian church". How many people in your oun home church arn't saved.

Saw this and almost fell over. 100% of the weed I ever smoked was after twig fellowship. It was the tc and they offered to anyone who stayed.

How big of a splash did you make when you left twi?
ex70sHouston replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
This is starting to show the big differance between before and after VPW. Those that left before his dead left along or with small groups. Once Craig took control there is a bitterness in your replies. The amount of the splash comes from the speed of your exit. They actually wanted me to stay. Go Figure -
How many times did you sit through pfal?
ex70sHouston replied to GrouchoMarxJr's topic in About The Way
How many times. Can't remember through all that fog. I only remember three times real well. The first time and the rather large woman behind me that was there to rub my shoulders and keep me awake. Then there was the time when I lived the closest to the branch coordinator and I was lucky enough to go to her house early and pick up that heavy mother of a TV and drive all the way across Houston watch the class and then carry it back. She trusted me with the key to her apartment but not the betamax. She gaurded that and the tapes with her life. The only other time I had decided I was going to have fun. Cut up talked and generaly got in trouble. It was great. Hey once you hear it five or six times it all runs together. -

Splash, what splash. Don't you remember whats his face. Well it was a little smaller than that. I had all ready seen the light and was looking to get out when I got an unexpected job offer. It moved me 200 miles. I still got calls about missing fellowship. My last contact with anyone in TWI was 10-6-79. That was my wedding and my best man had just come back from DC where he was a WOW. Never regret leaving. Only miss my old friends. -
Hay. I only knew about TWI -1. I don't consider myself to be a hippie type (I'm a certified red neck), hedonism was discouraged(well it did happen a few times), and the ROA was organized and was a Christian meeting. It only went down hill when they moved it to headquarters. The only real differance between 1 & 2 was how long it took the average joe to see the light and get the hell out. It only took me moving 200 miles and saying by to all my friends.

WG I never met many people from DFW area. Met a few of the WOWs who left Houston in Aug. 75 Looking through old pictures last night and one WOW couple was the Powalskis. Her name was Sally and I think he was Bruce but I wouldn't bet on that. I need a scanner. Goning through old stuff last night I found my ROA ticket stubb for both 76 and 77. Old pictures.

Why doesn't God speak to us more often?
ex70sHouston replied to sky4it's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Time for this Texas Hick to weigh in. God wants fellowship with his creations. THats us. Not the trees or birds or any of that BS. Yes I have heard him. I have had a prayer answered before I could finish it. That was when the prayer went right allong with what he God wanted. I have had prayers go as far as the ceiling when I was talking with myself. Whats the differance. My relationship with God. When I'm walking with him I'm praying allong with him and where he wants me. I'm in fellowship with him. When I'm praying about myself for myself nothing. All things come to those who love the Lord. They do because we want what the Lord wants. Did my wonderful devoted christian wife go through hell on earth with cancer. YES. Why I don't know and I'll ask when I see God. To all those of you who have a problem hearing God try and learn a differant language. At first you can know the words but understanding speech is another subject. If you want to hear God find a place where you don't hear other things and distractions. Some people have closets. My best prayers and conversations with God are when I'm by myself driving down the highway with the radio turned off. I make mistakes but God always forgives. Donald K -
Ya'll want a catch 22. Anybody want to buy an a/c company in a small town in Texas. After 18 yrs in bussiness and 32 in the same industry I just want to sell out and go sell cars. Thats what happens when Mr. Workahaulic burns out. BAAHummBug
-
I have three sons. 22, 19, & 13. I'm mean. I own my own bussiness and start dragging them to work starting at age 12. By the age of 15 they have to work with men out on construction sights. The first thing I teach them is life isn't fare get over it. As an employer I see differant people with differant work ethics. If there parents worked then generaly they work well. When I get someone who never has really struggled in life then I find a bum. Work is what your parents and life teachs. Parents make your children work on chores around the house and then don't pay them. Its what comes from being a member of a family. Don't teach they that they are oued. They are the ones that oue others.
