Ya'll remember your high school days? I just want to let you know the song Horse is still played!!!! I heard it last night and it brought back many high school memories. The kids were dancing just like we did...excepting our dance was a little different back then....

Show me thuh money!!!!! I watched one guy for a few minutes, and he said, the more money you send the bigger seed you plant for your prosperity and healing. I call it politick'in religion. It goes on, too, in churches not on tv. It has been my experience that most are in it for the money. There was a time in this country, and many others, that the preacher ( along with the doctor) was amongst the poorest in the community.

What is ...ed? Feel like my 20's and 30's were stolen in the 70's and 80's? Nope, not even a little bit. Torture and near starvation can make for a strong person. A wow or anyone else involved in the many "self-improvement" programs can attest to that. I survived those years. Now, I am a tough, wise ole bat who can handle anything that comes my way. I do miss that 21 inch waist, though.

The Sin @ AI and Resultant Stoning
kimberly replied to sky4it's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Sky, honey, I am not saying you are talking too long or much. It was all about the spacing. I was serious about my tri-focals. After about 5 sentences I have to put a piece of paper on the screen and read the sentences. I have to do the same with a book. By the way we southerners say things like honey and stuff like that. Are you really serious about the stoning for the here and now...like today times? Surely, you jest. And Geisha, you have no idea what I know from folks I communicate with on a daily basis (when the internet cafe is available to them)that live in South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia and Kenya. -
Well, there ya go, I can't follow directions!!!....

The Sin @ AI and Resultant Stoning
kimberly replied to sky4it's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I can relate to stoned way back when in the early 70's. But Sky, for real, come on here now, honey. Seriously, don't we have more important, relevant matters to mull over than stoning.....but if it is important to you..... far be it from me.... And since we are talking serious stuff, could you please do some spacing in your posting. My tri-focals get heebie jeebie while trying to read....so I, my eyeballs, give up after the first 700 sentences. I have a collection of rocks. Thanks love. -
Two hand gun robberies and you end up on Oprah!!

beenaboos, you sound like a family person. Yeehaw!! Your mom sounds like me. Veeerrryyy involved to the max. I am sure you are thankful to her for that. Keep that little book she gave you. If you don't now, you will treasure it one day. I can see your mom just as I saw myself back then. Teaching and loving our children. Hurray for mamas. My youngest has never been exposed to twi. Yet, he knows Eph. 6:1 backwards. And he better. Hurray for mom. Better yet, hurray for him. Welcome.

I know this isn't the doctrinal forum but this thread made me think of this.....Jesus went to the people...He sent the disciples to the people...seems a few times in the epistles Paul and several other folks went to the people... All of them went to where the folks were hanging out and met them where they were. I posted some time ago regarding what my friend Karen said, We were treated better by our biker friends in the bar than in church. I have never hung out in a biker bar. But I have hung out in a few bars and some churches. Carry on sistuh Price!!!!

aaahhh, one last hurrah for maybe a while. It is colder than a ninnie in a well. I had to turn the heat on last night. I sent the boy and my girl out to the garden to pick the last of the speckled butterbeans. Finally dry enough to get there. They picked for 2 hours. We will be shelling for the next 2 days. I was shocked at the amount. Did not expect it. The rains have been good. Good eating this winter. So much to be thankful for. Life is good.

Is the perpetual burger and fries in the fasty food business exclusive to MickieD's? I doubt it.

WateredGarden, my scripture reference is me. I think the reason for the diabetes is because you have not sent me all of your strawberry jam. While we are at it, how bout that strainer. Makes just as much sense, right? You know where I am coming from.....XOXO

Did I read correctly, 14 members in this parish? They are in posession of all these books? I thought it hilarious...they are so close to Asheville and burning Billy Graham books.

Come on girlfriend. The door is always open. It is a winding down fellow gardeners. I am proud of how the winter goodies are looking since I amended the soil. I popped the lime to it and that is what it needed. You would not believe the amount of rain we have had. It has been 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. For the first time I can remember (remember is the operative word here, tee hee) I wore a sweater this early in October. Although, I hate winter the cooler temps are a relief, of a sort, after summer. According to the Farmer's Almanac this is suppose to be a wetter and colder winter for us. I have been ravaged with henbit since I moved here years ago. I am determined to beat it this fall/winter so it does not set seed during the winter. It blooms in the spring and sets seed if not pulled up. It comes up again in the fall and casts more seed to come up again in the spring. And on and on... Grrrgrrr.....

Now the boy is in the midst of highschool football. He is the long snapper (no wonder, the catcher on the baseball team) and plays defensive something. Anyway, he won defensive player of the week last week because of his blocking. He plays jv Thursday nights and varsity Friday nights. This kid is 5'9" and weighs 150 lbs. He is fearless. I look at him up against those really, really big boys and shake my head. Only 4 more games and then time to get ready for baseball!

This is so bizarre I can't think of a good topic title
kimberly replied to GeorgeStGeorge's topic in Open
I, too, understand these young'ins doing this. My daughter will know my whereabouts (not at work) and text me instead of calling. Infuriates me. Hello, I love you. I love to hear your voice. We are on the same plan so mtm minutes are not used. Hello!!! This facebook, and the other one (I am showing my fuddie duddie side, I don't remember the name) is so real and so much a part of these younger folks. These girls reached out and touched the ones that they knew they could relate to. They knew their friends would be there and help. I am a firm believer in all is well that ends well. And then after lots of hugs and kisses..DON'T YOU EVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!! -
When I read the title, I thought, oh, no, cman is having it rough right now or knows somebody who is. Here in the south the term episode is used when someone is having a fit, misbehaving, beside themselves etc. Oh, don't mind her she is having an episode. She'll be alright in a little while.

WateredGarden, thanks love. It was a good one. My mommy came up to see me. She gave me a book on garden stories (which contained the most beautiful pictures of gardens)and a gardening log book. I sent home with her quarts of butterbeans, greenbeans and homemade bread.

When we needed flowers for a high dignitary function, we were told to go to funeral homes and ask for any left over flowers from a service. And I did. I was the only one brave enough to look like an idiot. Geez, I miss those more than abundant life wow days.

E-v-e-r-y morning we have to watch ESPN or ESPN2 before the boy goes to school. Mike, the skinnier one, was doggin on the Twins so bad. (You can tell I have a teenage boy when I use the word doggin) I always pull for the underdog. I do hope the Twins reach inside themselves and call on everything they are and have. They didn't get this far on nothin'.

WG, what does HB mean? Alrighty then, Rum, baby, bring it on!!!! You have met your composting match!!!! Ha! Ha! Congratulations on your new home! Composting can be done even in the coldest regions. The secret is the volume of the pile. 4'x4' will generate enough heat to break it down despite the enviromental temps and as long as the watering and turning is adhered to. If volunteers are growing in the pile then it is not hot enough. I have looked out the good ole kitchen window many a cold mornings to see the "steam" coming off the compost pile. Get the pitchforks ready!!! :)
