  1. I can tell you guys are very familiar with television shows. That is why I am asking here. How did The Pretender end? Because of my work schedule I caught it in rerun only. I felt is was near the end of the series when the channel suddenly stopped running it. Jared and the girl who was always after him had nearly become allies. She realized he held the answer to her mother's death. They were about to find out how they were connected. He was near to learning about his parents. The place where he grew up was called The Center? I have always wondered how it ended. It was a very good series...I liked the details.
  2. Rejoice, honey, I am with Waysider. If he was sent by God I would think he is showing up a little bit late since it is already 2008. Kind of like closing the barn door after the cows are out. ..."become aware of the authenticity of the words of this book..." That shows me right there what he is promoting. He is concerned with validating the authenticity of whose book? His website is all about him and his greatness. Don't buy into his fear tactics, sweetheart.
  3. May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey be plump, May your potatoes and gravy Have never a lump. May your yams be delicious And your pies take the prize. And may your Thanksgiving dinner Stay off your thighs. Happy Thanksgiving beloved one and all

Everday as I walked home from school ( 2nd grade at Walnut Street Elementary) two ladies sat in rocking chairs on their front porch. As I passed by they would say hello to me and ask me how I was doing. They were always so jovial. Now that I think about it they kind of remind me of the two sisters on The Waltons. Then one day they weren't in the rocking chairs but standing on the porch hugging and crying. I remember asking them what was the matter. They told me the president had been shot. We were out of school for several days. I, too, remember having to be quiet those days. I remember this so vividly because my parents were not JFK supporters. Yet, they mourned simply because our President had been killed. The mood around our house was pure reverence. Funny, those little things from childhood parents teach by example that stick with you. .....I forgot to add.....thanks so much Waysider for reminding us. There may come a day when there will be no one to answer.....do you remember where you were when you heard the news of JFK's death?
  5. Finallyunderstand.....my now 25 year old son told me something when he was 16 years old that I will never forget. After a lengthy discussion about "churches", fellowships, the differences and the likes he said, "Mom, you have to go where you grow. That is how Christ works in His Church." The Lord's little prophet had spoken. You know what I learned from that? Those who belong to Him have His spirit in them. When we desire fellowship with Him He will lead us to where we need to be to learn and grow. If His spirit in me is troubled by a church service then that is not where He intends for me to be (perhaps, just for that time) for my personal growth. I will tell you this, though. He may lead me to hear, listen and study from one particular ministry ("church", group) for just one area of growth and yet another ministry to learn another area of growth and perhaps, still yet, another. That is how He designed apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers and other ministries in His Body to work, i. e. for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the minstry, for the edifying of the body of Christ..... Blessings.

  7. God Bless our Veterans. I thank you for all you have done to uphold and defend our United States of America. I thank you (my dad and two brothers included) for affording me the freedom, rights and privileges I enjoy everyday. I never take that for granted. God Bless America. Thank God for our Veterans and thank God for our military today.
  8. In English class my highschooler has to keep a journal. The teacher asks the question which is subjective. He is graded on his objective. Talk about an oxymoron.
  9. When is love real love? Love is not unreal. I love you poem.
  10. I plead the Will Rogers.....If you don't listen to news reports then you are uninformed. If you do then you are misinformed.
  11. The Day The Earth Stood Still....Klaatu
  12. I am 52 years young and our baby (called 'the baby' by my entire family) is in highschool. I get to do Thursday night JV football. I am responsible for the pre-game meal. He is the long snapper and plays linebacker. In just 3 weeks he starts training for baseball. We get to do highschool all over again!!! I am telling ya, it keeps us young and on our toes. Dad is 55 years old and gray haired. Dad is trying to keep up. Funny.....when we meet new teachers they think we are the baby's grandparents. Our other children are 27 (almost 28), 25, 24, just turned 23.
  13. Wait a daggum minute. I just read the entire thread and I want to know why WhiteDove is being singled out and reprimanded. All the posts on this thread, including mine, are political. What is going on here?
  14. When Presidents have wanted to reform the monetary system in our country they were assassinated The attempt on Reagan's life was for an entirely different reason. The Unforeseen Hand is a very enlightening book.
  15. Yeehaw, a fellow composter. Volunteers mean you did not use hybrids. Good thing. I save seed year after year. I pick flowers and just drop them on the ground and they come up year after year. Tell Farmer Tom I am proud of him.
  16. Obie kabie, my 5 degrees to the left sense of humor demands I chime in here. meretrix, 'prostitute'.....'trix'..... If my memory from 6 years in French class serves me corrrectly, mere is mother. Trix cereal.....Trix is for kids..... Never name a poodle Trixie. I did. Now I know why she ran off. Ed Norton was married to Trixie.....does that explain why he was always deliriously happy.....
  17. Through the bloodline? No, through methods, wiles and schemes. Generational..... You nailed it sister girl, everything is spiritual.
  18. My very dear friend, originally from Philly, but now is a true American because she has lived down south for 20 years, (just my southern humor) made me very jealous when she told me she was there in 1980 when Tug McGraw pitched.
  19. What happens in between?....the dash. The dash between the birthdate and date of death represents the persons life. Someone sent me a beautiful story titled just that...The Dash...a person's entire life is in that dash. It was a very humbling and yet inspiring story.
  20. .....To defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States..... God bless America. God bless President-Elect Obama. God bless us one and all.
  21. I found out from Ivan that Kenneth is alive and well. Whew, what a relief.
  22. About witnessing.....my baby taught me what that is. When he was 4 years old we were joking around and I said, "Yeh, how do you know I love you?" He said, "Because of the way you treat me." Floored me. Out of the mouths of babes. I was taught another time when a woman, who frequented my restaurant asked me to pray for her mother. I had never spoken the Word of God or mentioned the name Jesus Christ to her. She said, "I know you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ by your actions." I was studying some stuff at the time (these 2 incidents took place within one week of each other) and Father taught me so much. You don't have to quote scripture to be a witness. Our actions can speak louder than words. Then again, you can hear words out of someone's mouth and figger where they are coming from. Lawdy, hassa muuhhsee.....go beyond the valley of human need. Get down and be down in the trenches of life with and for people. Even if people never get saved, reject us....we are to love them... no matter what. Jesus Christ lived down and dirty in the trenches of life. He lived it all. For God so loved the world.....He knew that His chosen would reject His Son, their Promised Messiah. Duz, ya think the Lord Christ knew that Israel rejected HIM. Yet, with His last breath (Psalm 22) He was down in the trenches, in the valley of human need, for the chosen to recognize their Promise. He never gave up on people. Some dude named Peter comes to mind. I know of a truth, that twi gave lip service concerning this. Yet, I must say in our own little world of home fellowship we were involved with folks. The nuttier they were the more we loved them. They were right at home with us and we with them. I must say it still holds true for me today.
  23. javajivey, I think I recognize your form of writing. Are you the same one and only as 2 other newbies on this site? Bless you dear darling. I loves ya!!! No matters. Let us keep one and another thinking...
