  1. Both great pitchers, but no. Glavine finished with 2607, Maddux with 3371. Further clue about the remaining two pitchers. One was a Phillie in 1983, the other was a Royal. George
  2. There may be some s in our future, but I'm not getting it. George
  3. Unless the Scot's name is also the name of a TV show, I'm not sure this is the right thread for this. George PS: Clever hiding of the Scot's gender...

  6. The last time, I asked about baseball hitters in the shadow of Babe Ruth's remarkable home run total. Now, let's try pitchers. Walter Johnson threw 3508 strikeouts before he retired in 1927. (He's also #2 on the all-time wins list.) He held that record until 1983, when not one but three pitchers surpassed him. Name at least two of them. Extra points if you say which one did it first. George (Whereas you might not have heard of Jimmy Foxx or Mel Ott, I'm sure you've heard of these guys.)
  7. Thriller by Michael Jackson? George
  8. This one should update. I right click the image from the National Hurricane Center and click "Copy image." Pasting it (and then not choosing "Plain text" at the bottom of this window seems to give me an active link. Seems to me there should be an exclamation point after the name... George
  9. Was it a woman? I seem to remember Linda Hunt winning an Oscar for playing a man, and I think that was the movie. George
  10. OK. You made such a big deal about Marvel, I assumed it was DC or some other comic-y hero. George
  11. This may be hard to believe, but I actually HAVEN'T memorized the stunt coordinator for every movie I've seen. For all I knew, Nick Gillard could have been the third baseman for the 1947 Yankees. George
  12. It may be a bit early, but Bret seems to be headed toward Central America, leaving the US alone. There is that disturbance behind Bret, though... George
  13. Brett headed this way: George
  14. I keep seeing Joe Pesci in this. Casino? George
  15. Home Alone 2 Donald Trump Zoolander George
  16. Yes, actually. Did you get it from Fred Dryer's number or Garret Morris's role? George
  17. The star's badge number in this police drama is the same as the actor's jersey number when he played for the LA Rams. Garret Morris often appeared as a police informant, mostly for comic relief. George
  18. (Name the actress) Pamela Stewart Miss Dorothy Brown Martine Randall George
