"Twins"? George

Well, I guess I waited four days for a clue to song I've never heard! George
-
I've seen it, but it's been many years since! George

I'm not fond of tropical storms, but I wish this one came a little further west. Houston has just had the driest June on record, and a couple inches of rain here would be very welcome. George

I PT'ed him. Hopefully, we'll have a clue soon. George

Oh, and the "Harrigan" song is from "Yankee Doodle Dandy." George

I think W. Cumm*ns did the "Also" pamphlet. I do not have a copy. George

I wouldn't call it "unique," but it is an interesting version of this sort of scam. George

Pitched this one in my wheelhouse, Sudo! The Stars and Stripes Forever was written in 1896, when Sousa was returning to America from a European tour. (His manager had just died.) Most people don't know the words to the song. (It has nothing to do with ducks.) Here they are: Let martial note in triumph float, and liberty extend her mighty hand. A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers, the banner of the Western land. The emblem of the brave and true (Its folds protect no tyrant crew) The red, and white, and starry blue is Freedom's shield and hope. Let Eagle shriek from lofty peak the never-ending watchword of our land. Let summer breeze waft through the trees the echo of the chorus grand. Sing out for Liberty and Light, (Sing out for Freedom and the Right) Sing out for Union and its might O patriotic sons. Other nations may deem their flags the best and cheer them with fervid elation, But the Flag of the North and South and West is the Flag of Flags The flag of freedom's nation. (repeat) Hurrah for the Flag of the Free! May it wave as our standard forever. The gem of the land and the sea, The banner of the right. Let despots remember the day When our fathers with mighty endeavor Proclaimed as they marched to the fray That by their might and by their right it waves forever! George

That you did, WW. This was just another example of Sly and Ahnold ribbing each other. I was reminded of it when the "new" idea of AS for President was circulating a few moths ago. I just had to see it again (Encore, last night) to get the quote right. George

Sorry to butt in, but my earlier post about praying for George and Suz got booted, and I just want to let them know that I'm still pulling for them. Maybe I should start a Prayer thread. I'm sure George wouldn't. We'll just have to pray for him whether he likes it or not! ;)--> George

This is from an early 1990's movie, just to show that it's not a new idea: "The Schwartzenegger Presidential library?" "Yes. Even though he wasn't a natural-born citizen, his overwhelming popularity at the time helped pass the 61st Amendment!" George

"All the President's Men"? George

Yes, Lindyhopper, you're up! George

I infer from the lack of responses that we need more clues. George

What is the best way to lose weight (and quickest)?

As well as fiber, fruits also contain a lot of fructose, which isn't metabolized as easily as sucrose. That's why eating a lot of fruits can "keep things moving." George -
Good. Maybe I'll get to see it then. (It's down as of 12:45 CDT 7/2/05.) George

I find it interesting that they use WESTERN commodes! Though commodes are in use in the Orient, the traditional Asian toilet is not much more than a ceramic- or metal-covered trench that one squats over, rather than sitting upon. Think how much MORE exciting it would be to dine in THAT style! George

It's basically the First Law of Thermodynamics. If you take in more calories than you expend, you will gain weight; if you expend mare than you take in, you will lose weight. This is why EXERCISE is so important for losing weight (and maintaining the loss). Also, muscle requires more energy to maintain, so an increase in lean muscle mass will allow you to burn calories more easily. Cowgirl's mix of aerobic and weight exercise is a good one, though you'll need to determine how much you can handle, especially if you haven't been particularly active. (One hard workout at the gym and then a week in bed recovering won't do it!) Consult a physician; but the basic gist is EAT LESS, EXERCISE MORE. P.S. My wife tried the cabbage soup diet a few years ago. She lost about five pounds in the first week from a bad case of the runs! :D--> George -
I would tend to agree. Most of the personal material had already been deleted from the individual posts, anyway. I think a lot of valuable learning may have been lost. :(--> George

I posted to it today. I wonder where it went, too. Paw? George

I was wondering where Sharon was. She always seems to get my clues! You're up, Babe! George

Well, I THOUGHT those would give it away! Here are a couple more: "Say this word." "I don't want to say it!" "You CAN'T say it, because this is a PG movie!" "I've killed lots of guys, but Moe ... Zart?" George

Happy birthday, old man! (Well, hey, you DID remember Clutch Cargo!) George
