  1. Okay, you all had your chance! And since I have no idea what Raf's pictionary clues mean, I'll give a clue here: I happen to know that in the future I will not have the slightest use for algebra, and I speak from experience. George
  2. The last post I saw from her was her announcing that she was evacuating. I assume she got out OK, but she may not have internet access right now. (It may not be her biggest concern, either.) I'll keep her inmy prayers. George
  3. Yeah. Actually, the last picture is Rhonda SHEAR. It was hard getting all the pictures actually to show up! Have at it, Raf. George
  4. Well, it was either that or "The Brady Bunch." Try this: George
  5. Well, I wasn't that thrilled by the clip. Sounds a little like Rod Stewart without all the rasp. Just not my style, I guess. George
  6. Since I grabbed Sharon's spot in "Name that Tune," I'll leave this to another erstwhile poster! George
  7. Just in case Sharon is still around. I'm guesing that your smileys are another clue. How about "Strictly Ballroom"? George
  8. In that case, I'll seize control again. (Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haahhh!) It's not very cherry; it's an oldie but a goody! George
  9. "A Long Day's Journey into Night"? George
  10. My wife and I attend a "spin-off." Quite happily. :)--> George
  11. Ala, What media player(s) do you have on your computer? I find that just clicking on Sudo's links doesn't work for me, either. I right-click the link, then click "Copy Shortcut." Then I open Quicktime (though this would probably work, with minor variations, with other media players). I click "Open URL..." and paste the shortcut into the dialog box. It loads, and I can play it that way. Give it a try. George
  12. Excie was "excommunicated" from chat a couple weeks ago. The last I saw was her apology thread. I'm sure she's fine, though. Thi sprobably IS a plot, Eagle -- just to make us miss her!! George
  13. Sounds like one of those Neil Simon growing-up-in-New-York movies. I'll try "Lost in Yonkers." George
  14. Takes one to know one. You're up! George
  15. Yep. "Woodies" were quite popular in the early '60's. They were oldies even then. Jan and Dean (in "Surf City") sing about their '38 wagon and they call it a Woody, it's not very cherry, it's an oldie but a goodie! George (I expect a clip from Sudo any minute now!)
  16. Getting close. Whom does the piggy bank portray? George
  17. There were four (or maybe five -- it's been over forty years) lights in a linear array. They were usually horizontal, but I think the line could be rotated. Each light was as bright as a sun lamp -- maybe 500 W, so it's posible we had about 2000 W shining in our living room. I was joking, of course, about the ice cubes; but each of us really did squint for a while until our eyes adjusted. George
  18. Pirate, if you wish to give it to Raf, we can hold my puzzle "in abeyance." Of course, it would be easier just to solve my puzzle!! George
  19. Really? Was that the state of the art at that time? 8000 watts.. lessee. That's a BANK of EIGHTY one-hundred watt bulbs. I wonder how valid this claim is. I know the old film formats required a higher light level than modern equipment, but was this the norm? I don't know... My dad used to take home movies at Christmas, and he had to set up these big klieg lights. I think we needed to put ice cubes on our eyes after the filming was done. We WERE the only kids in Chicago with tans in January!! :D--> George
  20. I hope he didn't bring his ray gun! George
  21. Reminds me of a date I had years ago. I had just bought new eyeglasses, and I asked the young lady if she noticed anything different. She said, "Bigger muscles?" Not the answer we were looking for, but the judges will accept it! George
