  1. Okay, maybe you don't recognize the guy in the picture (one of my favorite pop stars of the '60's). I'll do it slightly differently, but now you'll have to guess TWO movies. The first -->--> George
  2. I'm not going to get into "Well, I could have learned this elsewhere" because I HAVE NO IDEA what my life would have been like without the time I was in TWI, and it's ridiculous to speculate about it. What I did learn from TWI: Salvation is by grace, not works. (Cf. the RC doctrine I had dealt with prior.) The Bible makes sense. :)--> I can forgive others because God HAS FORGIVEN me. Jesus was a man, not God. (To me, this makes his sacrifice much more poignant.) I have the privilege of sharing what I know to help others. --> What I learned from TWI's mistakes: Teaching someone to be strong doesn't mean teaching them to be hard-hearted. There's more; but that's what comes to mind immediately. George

    E-mail Scams

Same scam. Only the names have been changed to fool the innocent. George
  4. Here are a couple of hints: he was a lawyer on TV for several years; he appeared in both "Major League" movies. George
  5. How about this: --> George (The smiley is part of the clue.)
  6. Ah, but the episode that he lost his powers ("Q Who?") was a classic! George P.S. Remember who played the other Q in that episode?
  7. Before the class, I was Catholic (possibly born again) with a good knowledge of Greek (from Catholic high school). My understanding of what happened at Pentecost was WAY off. (I thought the Apostles were speaking Aramaic and that the listeners mystically "heard" them in their own languages.) I spoke in tongues in my apartment after session 11, but it (likely) wouldn't have happened without PFAL. George
  8. "The Distinguished Gentleman"? George
  9. Traxx has sort of been my mantra since using it in the "Name that Flick" thread and getting abuse from Raf because of it. It's an enjoyable spoof of action films. Rent it when you need a chuckle. I also highly recommend "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra," a sci-fi/horror spoof. George
  10. I know I'm supposed to wait for confirmation, but it WAS obvious. And I want to try one, especially for Raf: George
  11. He did ANYTHING back then not to be typecast as a pointy-eared alien! George
  12. I believe most of TWI doctrine (regardless of its original sources), so I picked the penultimate choice, though something about "really accurate" bothers me! ;)--> George
  13. That's what I want to know! I was 19 the beginning of my senior year in college, and I thought THAT was cool. But 17? George
  14. He's been in a lot of movies and TV shows. Here's his write-up in IMDB: Jeff Daniels George
  15. Chances are, if you've posted that much of a song, and nobody gets it, nobody's going to get it! George
  16. That was a hoot! I couldn't make out the voice, so I looked it up. I must admit, I wouldn't have guessed it!! It was the kind of song that Martin Mull would have done years ago. George
  17. My turntable and rotary-dial phone are obsolete, too. What's your point? ;)--> George
  18. I thought that "learning revelation the hard way" was to blow revelation, get in trouble, and then remember what God had told you. The next time, hopefully, one would be more attentive. George
  19. This actually IS a rather interesting question. If LCM still thinks of himself as the MOGFOT, then he would not be giving anything. If he has decided that all the tithing stuff he ran down everyone's throat was a scam, then he wouldn't give anything. But, if by some odd quirk he actually BELIEVED what he taught, he should be giving to TWI, because it is, after all, the one true ministry of God. --> ;)--> George
  20. How about "Wipeout"? Then, they would have had to change only ONE word? George
