  1. Again, I'm going to jump in without confirmation. (Just to keep Raf from having to admit to being ugly.) George
  2. The picture that CK posted was apparently from teh time of the original pilot, "The Cage." Maj was originally cast as the first officer, "Number One." The pilot didn't do well, and everyone was re-cast, except for a certain Science Officer with pointy ears. Maj wound up as Nurse Chapel. Most of "The Cage" was used in the only original ST two-parter, "The Menagerie," where Spock commandeers the ship to bring his former captain back to Talos V to live his life out in the illusion of vigor. I enjoyed all the ST versions, especially DS9. I think "Enterprise" was finally doing in the third season what it should have in the first, but by then it was too late. :(--> George
  3. I have to assume that this is "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Though, from Raf's and Linda Z's comments, I must also assume that the last picture is Raf himself, in no wise "ugly." I have no fear of googling photos. George
  4. Honestly, I would hope it would be about respect for Mrs. W., not a slap in TWI's face. There are other avenues for that. George
  5. Belle, I hope he takes a good, LONG look at the prospects. A few years ago, a good friend of mine was asked to take a job at HQ. He quit his very successful business to help, as any good TWI-er would. His wife was equally infatuated with TWI, so they both moved to Ohio. Only then, somehow, there was no job opening. Shattered, they left Ohio for another state. My friend never recovered his self-esteem, and after his savings were used up, killed himself. :(--> Of course, I think he should have picked himself up and gone on with his life, but TWI is clearly responsible for his death. If your ex really considers moving to HQ, make sure he gets the job offer IN WRITING, with EVERYTHING spelled out, and hires a good lawyer. George
  6. Peter Noone, lead singer of Herman's Hermits. You're up. George
  7. OK, Sharon, it's been two days... George
  8. Okay, maybe you don't recognize the guy in the picture (one of my favorite pop stars of the '60's). I'll do it slightly differently, but now you'll have to guess TWO movies. The first -->--> George
  9. I'm not going to get into "Well, I could have learned this elsewhere" because I HAVE NO IDEA what my life would have been like without the time I was in TWI, and it's ridiculous to speculate about it. What I did learn from TWI: Salvation is by grace, not works. (Cf. the RC doctrine I had dealt with prior.) The Bible makes sense. :)--> I can forgive others because God HAS FORGIVEN me. Jesus was a man, not God. (To me, this makes his sacrifice much more poignant.) I have the privilege of sharing what I know to help others. --> What I learned from TWI's mistakes: Teaching someone to be strong doesn't mean teaching them to be hard-hearted. There's more; but that's what comes to mind immediately. George

    E-mail Scams

Same scam. Only the names have been changed to fool the innocent. George
  11. Here are a couple of hints: he was a lawyer on TV for several years; he appeared in both "Major League" movies. George
  12. How about this: --> George (The smiley is part of the clue.)
  13. Ah, but the episode that he lost his powers ("Q Who?") was a classic! George P.S. Remember who played the other Q in that episode?
  14. Before the class, I was Catholic (possibly born again) with a good knowledge of Greek (from Catholic high school). My understanding of what happened at Pentecost was WAY off. (I thought the Apostles were speaking Aramaic and that the listeners mystically "heard" them in their own languages.) I spoke in tongues in my apartment after session 11, but it (likely) wouldn't have happened without PFAL. George
  15. "The Distinguished Gentleman"? George
  16. Traxx has sort of been my mantra since using it in the "Name that Flick" thread and getting abuse from Raf because of it. It's an enjoyable spoof of action films. Rent it when you need a chuckle. I also highly recommend "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra," a sci-fi/horror spoof. George
  17. I know I'm supposed to wait for confirmation, but it WAS obvious. And I want to try one, especially for Raf: George
  18. He did ANYTHING back then not to be typecast as a pointy-eared alien! George
  19. I believe most of TWI doctrine (regardless of its original sources), so I picked the penultimate choice, though something about "really accurate" bothers me! ;)--> George
  20. That's what I want to know! I was 19 the beginning of my senior year in college, and I thought THAT was cool. But 17? George
