  1. Michelle Yeoh is a major Chinese star and has appeared in a number of big films in the US. She was also a star on Star Trek Discovery. Everything Everywhere All at Once won seven Academy Awards last year, including Best Picture and Best Actress (Yeoh). It was also a surprise return for Ke Huy Quan Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Kate Capshaw George
  2. There was a line like that in Violent Night. I think it was a young girl saying that the reindeer won't fly unless they're fed magic corn. Whatever. George
  3. A "barleycorn" is a unit of length equal to 1/3 inch. What common item uses barleycorns in its measurement? George
  4. "When I die and they lay me to rest, gonna go to the place that's the best." George
  5. My Adventures with Superman is cute. I saw "Ms. Marvel" in my DIRECTTV Guide Saturday night on ABC, so I set the system to record "All new episodes." Only one of the three shown that night was recorded, because THE SHOW ISN'T NEW. Apparently it streamed sometime last year. The remaining three episodes air this coming Saturday. If I decide to watch them, I'll record "ALL episodes." It's about a Pakistani-American girl who idolizes Captain Marvel (the Marvel version) and cosplays her at "Avengercon." She adds a gauntlet (an old family relic) to her costume and finds, to her surprise, that it gives her some powers. The first episode took a long time to get interesting, but the show has some promise. George
  6. I should know this. (Of course, that's the point of this thread.) Sadly, I remember the homage, "Release the Kragl!" from the LEGO Movie, but not this clue. George
  7. Well, I don't know nearly enough about Daredevil or TMT to have guessed this. The Turtles - Turtles idea is cute, but it never would have occurred to me. Good work, WW. George
  8. What is the largest bone in the human body, and what is the smallest? (Common names or Latin names accepted) George
  9. Reminds me of the show-stopper "Molasses to Rum" in the musical "1776." Edward Rutledge points out the hypocrisy of the northern states in railing against slavery when the North was using slaves as part of a trade cycle with the South and Europe. New one shortly. George
  10. Correct. A bit more recent than my usual posts. George
  11. The tea-dumping was a protest against the Stamp Act. The revolutionaries might have destroyed the British tax stamps, but I wouldn't call those a commodity. Whiskey or rum? (If so, probably consumed!) George
  12. Perhaps another clue will help. George
  13. Ferris Bueller's Day Off "Life is like a box of chocolates." George
  14. Not even close. I'm too hot (hot damn), uh Call the police and the fireman I'm too hot (hot damn) Make a dragon wanna retire, man I'm too hot (hot damn) Say my name, you know who I am I'm too hot (hot damn) And my band 'bout that money, break it down George
  15. A) Boston Harbor B) As Indians C) Tea and tobacco (?) D) Dumped the tea in the harbor, burned the tobacco (?) George
