You've got the right idea, you're just not seeing "the big picture" for the first clue. George

I didn't see the "magic fridge" commercial during the game (must have been a "bio-break"). I just saw it on the link Mark put up. It was pretty funny! George

I got a big kick out of the FedEx caveman commercial and the Michelob Amber "touch football" commercial. The "Godzilla and robot have Hummer baby" was just creepy. And the "Whopperettes" was an amusig idea, but the commercial was too long. George Oh, and from Mark's link, it appears that we didn't see all the GoDaddy (whatever that is) commercials. Pity...

Here's another of those Jeannie/Samantha -- Ginger/Mary Ann deals: Morticia (Carolyn Jones) or Lily (Yvonne DeCarlo)? George (I tried to pick photos without the horror makeup.)

Well then, I'll try not to link to more than one image from any website! While Raf seems to be busy, try this one: George

Don't get me wrong. A letterer doesn't write the stuff, though he doesn't have to accept every assignment, either. The last time I spoke with Clem about this was at a WIB at least 10 years ago. The teachings in the Fine Arts group were about godliness in art. I told Clem I felt bad about even READING Vertigo stuff, and he told me that he was very conflicted about lettering them. If that has changed, then I would guess that he's not still "in," because he'd be browbeaten about it regularly if he were. The next time you e-mail him, tell him I say Hi. I think he'll remember me. The last time I spoke with Clem (admittedly a long time ago), he was married. (I think his wife's name is Laurie?) Interestingly, he was almost embarrassed about the Vertigo stuff he did for DC. He even removed his name from the credits of at least one issue because the language was so foul. I still see his work occasionally in "mainstream" DC titles. George

Of course, if you have no reason to expect a call from the Caribbean Islands (809); the British Virgin Islands (284); or Jamaica (876), then it probably is a scam. George

Happy Birthday wishes for Shellon Fockler-North
GeorgeStGeorge replied to Ron G.'s topic in Birthdays and Anniversaries
Which one is dmiller? :) Happy Birthday Shell! George -
Ouch!! It's bad enough that Illinois's NCAA-leading home win streak (okay -- tied with Gonzaga) was ended, but to lose to a team like Penn State? And even worse, to blow a 16-point second-half lead to do it!! Of course, had Rich McBride gotten his last shot off a tenth of a second sooner, Illinois would have won by two. But that didn't happen. Hopefully, this will re-energize the Illini. 20-3 George

I've always thought that a bagel was a donut that went horribly wrong! George

"Clueless"? George

"The Perfect Score"? George

Dooj, you've definitely got it! And I think Raf got it, too. :) George

Sudo, I didn't recognize it until the line "a Bob Clampett cartoon." It was a classic, of course. Humor that was completley lost on me back then (the No Bikini Atoll) gives me a chuckle today. As I recall, teh villain was named Dishonest John. The line "DJ, you dirty guy" got said a lot at my house, because my youngest brother was named DJ (Donald Joseph)! George

On p. 22 of this thread I gave a couple of detailed posts on how to do this. At the top or bottom of this page click on the Pages drop-down (next to the actual page number) and a "Jump to Page..." box shows up. Type in 22 and OK. (Or page back through 20+ pages!) George

Now I'm thinking it was the one about a scientist, his son, their dog, an adult aide, and a Hindu boy. I don't remember seeing it in prime time, though, only Saturday mornings. Must have been reruns. George

There were several movies by this title (though I haven't seen one of them): "Asphalt"? George

Well, CK, the second one was a yabba-dabba-doo giveaway. The first sounds familiar, maybe one of the many Quinn Martin dramas, but I can't quite place it. George

"Tail Spin"? George

It was, in fact, Sally Field. I admit I had to google to learn the name of the show. The title was vaguely familiar, but I don't think I ever watched the show. :( George

Your best guess is good enough. "Boomerang" is correct. Your turn! George

Since Rick doesn't want to step up, try this: George

Actually, it's when Quicktime kicks in that I have to wait. WMP seems to bring things up immediately. And I think I watched ALL of Bill Bixby's shows. George

There are a Kurt and Yvonne Dahlgren listed in Beaverton, OR. Call directory assistance, or check www.switchboard.com. George
