When I was in grad school, my Branch Leader asked me to assist him in running a class. I thought about it for a few moments and told him No. I was in a critical time in my studies. He accepted that completely. He said he had asked becauase he thought I would do a good job but had no problem with my passing on the opportunity. Ah, those were simpler times. George My BC was 9th Corps, incidentally.

Thanks! I thought it was pretty brilliant, myself! Oh...that's your ANSWER. Correct, of course. Are you up to posting a puzzle now? George
-
And it's okay to ask a friend, family member, etc. "Googling" takes the challenge out of it. George

Not back yet. Let's try this: George

No sweat, Digitalis. Unlike the Nostalgia Thread, where pretty much anyone can post a clue at any time, this game just gets too confusing with more than one thread going at a time. (The "Name that Flick" thread runs along these lines, as well.) Save your clue for the next time you correctly guess a title and performer! George

The first picture seems to have disappeared (though not before Raf saw it, apparently). I'll post a replacement if it doesn't return. George

AGAIN with the nobody-wants-to-post! Well, at least we're getting more viewers, so I feel it's worth my time. Here's an easy one (I suppose): George

I have five pairs of jeans: one nice one for going out, one worn one for going to work (I work in a lab), one very worn one for working in the yard, and two pairs of shorts. This is Texas, after all! :) George

"Don't Pass Me By" is a rock re-make of an old spiritual. I don't recognize your song. George

Kathy, don't blame Sudo! I'm sure he was just doing it for me: Now that it's "the season," I get a kick out of the various parodies of Christmas tunes on the radio. Of course "Walkin' in Women's Underwear" ("Walking in a Winter Wonderland") has been around for a few years. And Rick's videos were nice, too. George

Well, that's what I get for listening to my wife. I just checked: WordWolf is correct (and it was the Eurythmics). Go, Dude! George In defense of my wife, they do play "Don't Pass Me By" in our spinning classes, as well.

Rick, since Belle answered your clue, it's her turn to give one. (I'm sure you'll get another turn soon enough!) Anyway, I believe the answer to Belle's clue is "Do not Pass Me By" by MC Hammer. (They play it in my cycling class all the time. My wife told me the performer.) George

No. Is it a compilation of Christmas parodies? George That was a great "blast from the past." Does Norelco still exist? George
-
If I only had a nickel for every time that's happened to me!! George
-
Interesting lyric, though I'm fairly certain I haven't heard this tune. Glad to have you here, Rick! George
-
Well, my first pass was "Gauge Pin Coat," but that clearly wasn't right. I do know now, thugh; and I think you have a talent for this, Rick! Let's see if any others chime in before Raf or I give it away. George

If I HAD to guess, I'd probably say Anne Murray, as well. Sudo, you're starting to post TOO MANY LINKS! Step away from the keyboard...just step away! :D Now that it's "the season," I get a kick out of the various parodies of Christmas tunes on the radio. Of course "Walkin' in Women's Underwear" ("Walking in a Winter Wonderland") has been around for a few years. Recently, I heard "Police Stopped My Car" ("Feliz Navidad") and "I'm Putting up Decorations" ("I'm Getting a Good Vibration"). And there's a parody of the Chipmunk Christmas song even sillier than the original. Since I listen primarily to the oldies station, I also get to hear a lot of 60's versions of the classics. I think my favorite is the Temptations' version of "White Christmas." How about you guys (y'all, for our southern readers)? George

You're welcome! George

Fine, Raf. Now to keep our viewers interested, you post one! George
-
I've posted a new puzzle in the Movie Pictionary thread. Please have a look. Even if you don't want to post a puzzle, at least guess!! George
-
On the odd chance that I was able to convince some of hte Nostalgia Thread people to take a peek over here, here's another puzzle. IF YOU'RE OUT THERE AND ARE AFRAID TO GUESS BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU'LL HAVE TO POST A PUZZLE, JUST SAY SO. NO ONE HAS TO POST; IT'S JUST MORE FUN FOR ALL WHEN THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE POSTING!!! Have at it! George

Actually, the next-to-last clues was FORTS; but yes, MIRROR + CULLEN + DIRTY + FORTS + TREAT = "Miracle on 34th Street." Well done, Hiway! Right now, there isn't an open game in MP. It's Raf's turn. I may just go and post a new puzzle there for all our new players! George
-
Not from the quote, but from Raf's hint: "Men in Black 2"? George

A couple of helpful hints for my "Pictionary" puzzle: The first man was a game-show host in the 60's (nostalgic, eh?). The last man is on a WB TV show, but also has been in several movies, including "Hair" (nostalgic, eh?). I don't know who the girl is; her name isn't part of the clue. George

Sorry, Bowtwi, it didn't come up as a link! George PS Any guesses on my visual puzzle?
