  1. Well, CK, the second one was a yabba-dabba-doo giveaway. The first sounds familiar, maybe one of the many Quinn Martin dramas, but I can't quite place it. George
  2. It was, in fact, Sally Field. I admit I had to google to learn the name of the show. The title was vaguely familiar, but I don't think I ever watched the show. :( George
  3. Your best guess is good enough. "Boomerang" is correct. Your turn! George
  4. Since Rick doesn't want to step up, try this: George
  5. Actually, it's when Quicktime kicks in that I have to wait. WMP seems to bring things up immediately. And I think I watched ALL of Bill Bixby's shows. George
  6. There are a Kurt and Yvonne Dahlgren listed in Beaverton, OR. Call directory assistance, or check www.switchboard.com. George
  7. Yes, the actress was much more fetching in swimwear. She had a nasty habit. Didn't we do this show a few months ago?? George
  8. I was thinking of "Ground Control to Major Tom," but I thought that was a lot earlier than the 80's?? George
  9. DUCK + TOUR + STRAIN + GLOVE = "Doctor Strangelove"? If I'm right, Bluzeman can have my turn. George
  10. When I think of mental patients, the only song that comes to mind is this classic: Oldie The flip side to that song was the same song in reverse: Eidlo Just in case the links don't work, here's the webpage where I found them: Napoleon XIV and variations George P.S. They're mp3 files, but they come right up in Windows Media Player (maybe as streaming audio?).
  11. You are correct, sir! Have at it! George
  12. When you're arrogant and supercilious, you'll be controversial even when you're right. I haven't read any of Dawkins's stuff. I imagine he's less bilious on paper than in person. George
  13. As a scientist and Christian, of course I dasagree with Dawkins. The sad fact is that if he's right, and God has nothing to do with the evolution of the universe, then he doesn't actually "believe" what he says, because every thought he has is simply a result of the positions and momenta of all the particles in the universe. An article about him in a recent Discover magazine referred to him as "Darwin's Bulldog." Reasonably accurate, I think. George
  14. I remember Hugh O'Brian from his short-lived '70's show "Search," where he, Doug McClure, and Tony Franciosa played secret agents called "Probes." Back then, I thought he would have been a great Green Lantern! George
  15. Thanks, Rick. Hopefully, I didn't offend Ala and Moony, either. I'm just pointing out what I find interesting. That doesn't mean the other stuff isn't good. George
  16. This shouldn't be too hard, either; adn it's got a couple of attractive gals, to boot: George
  17. The jazz band I perform with also does a version of "Sunny Side of the Street," so I recognized it immediately. I don't remember "Durham Town," but it was pleasant. As for wav vs. mp3, I do have broadband, but even still, it takes more time to download those files than I really care to give. Especially when someone posts about five songs at once. This thread seems to have morphed into "Here are all my favorite songs." That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just not what I found interesting and which attracted me to this thread. George
  18. That's a pretty easy one, I think. I'll pass again, unless no one else gets it by tomorrow morning... George
  19. Got it. Good one, Rhino! I'm sure someone else will come up with it, so I'll pass right now. George
  20. Sudo, I not only know this song, it's one of my favorite oldies. In fact, I posted some lyrics in the "Name That Tune" thread. I was impressed that Pirate recognized it, since I posted only part of the second verse! I'm glad you posted it as a wav file. I probably would have skipped it if it were another mp3 or m4a! George
