  1. It is frightening that people like that are free to reproduce. I imagine, though, that ther were SOME right answers that were edited out. George
  2. Excathedra, Are you going to join us on the "phone hook-up" again? George
  3. "My father spent his life chasing after this insanity. Now I'm wasting mine trying to prove he was sane." "Sometimes I look in the mirror and I'm not sure it's me looking back." George
  4. It went fine. We had a couple of sprinkles, but otherwise the weather was pretty good. I think the FEAR of bad weather kept some folks away, though. George
  5. "Fire six photon torpedoes across their bow." "All we HAVE is six photon torpedoes!" "We won't win this battle with torpedoes." "I suppose you want the office." "Well, I was hoping to say hello first, and *then* take the office, but we can do it in any order you like." [sarcastically] "Hello!" George
  6. Actually, dryer lint is excellent tinder to start a fire. If you're planning a trip into the wilderness, a small baggie full of lint can help you start several fires. George
  7. I believe it's another case of missing child, parents presumed killers. George
  8. I don't think this one has been done yet. "I suppose you want the office." "Well, I was hoping to say hello first, and *then* take the office, but we can do it in any order you like." [sarcastically] "Hello!" George
  9. With all the hot babes there (including, of course, my lovely wife), I'm gonna notice dust on a fridge? George
  10. I suppose that would explain the "car in a tree" line.... George
  11. Another hint: "Anna" = "in a" George
  12. Remember, Suda, I try to break words in a different place from where they really are. For instance, instead of using "I spy" I would use "ice pie." So "A Teds" is really...? George
  13. I wasn't waiting. I just don't recognize the movie. :( George
  14. It's one of the Moriarty in the Holodeck episodes. The first, I believe. I think it was called "Elementary, My Dear Data." George
  15. Of Unknown Origin Peter Weller Robocop George
  16. I KNOW I've heard that last exchange! Now..WHERE? George
  17. Happy Birthday, Tonto! I look forward to seeing you and "Mr. T" at the BBQ! Have a wonderful day. George
  18. Your original puzzle shows up fine on my home computer, just not at work. That happens sometimes, for reasons I don't understand. George
  19. I'm sorry. I just don't understand the answer you gave. The problem doesn't say anything about the size wrench that is used, so why assume it to be one foot? I guess it doesn't matter as long as you don't confuse torque (ft-lbs) with force (lbs). Force X circumference will be the same, because if you increase the wrench length by a certain fraction, you will reduce the amount of force by the same fraction (i.e., the torque remains the same). The answer, though, doesn't seem to be in units of pressure, but rather of force. Could you give the solution with all units included? George
