  1. Apparently, we're in surf mode... "Get Around" by the Beach Boys George
  2. I can never tell which one is Judy Landers and which one is Audrey, but it doesn't matter this time. Zoolander George
  3. Al Capone wasn't a bad guy. Took care of his family and friends. All he was ever prosecuted for was tax evasion. George
  4. 1. and 2. I come and stay here because it's a place where I can share TWI experiences with others who have been there. It's interesting to see the WIDE range of TWI experiences, though. I also feel that I've made a lot of new friends here, even if I haven't seen their faces! 3. I'd leave if I felt I wasn't wanted. Or if I had to give Paw >10% of my income. 4. I read threads that look interesting and post when I think I have something to add. 5. I mostly post in the "game room" (Gallery and Reading Room). Boy, talk about people coming and going! Though there are a few diehards, a lot of people post once or twice and then disappear. 6. It's easier to post the areas I DO look at. About the Way, Open, the Prayer Room, and the Reading Room. I occasionally look at Doctrinal, Politics, Keep Your Eye on the Ball, State, and Friend Tracker. 7. Only Chevelles.com, which really isn't a forum site. I just miss my old '67. 8. Not really. Only if I'm away from a computer for a while. 9. No. I probably come more than in the beginning, since I now "know" so many folks. 10. Pretty good questions. George
  5. I don't know if this had anything to do with my offer to SIT for you. That assumed that you would have told me you had a problem but wouldn't reveal its nature. Not much point in praying in the understanding, when you have no understanding of the problem! :) George

    Bowl Games

I watched a little of the Alamo Bowl. (Texas A&M is a local favorite.) The only one I really care about is the Rose Bowl. It would be nice to see Illinois actually win a big bowl game. George
  7. Ayyyy! It must be "Happy Days." Students in a pre-1959 class. Ralph Malph's catch phrase (after he's told a silly joke) I'm guessing that that's "Arnold's" (Pat Morita) "real" name on the show. George
  8. "O-bla-di, O-bla-da" (or however it's spelled). There's a man who leads a life of danger George
  9. I only know a dozen or so GS'ers in person, but there are several others I "know" well enough from the site that I would ask them to pray with me. And your assumption is correct. ;) George
  10. The street was deserted late Friday night We were buggin' each other while we sat out the light I said, "You're on, buddy, my mill's runnin' fine Let's come off the line now, at Sunset and Vine." George
  11. Well, you could PM someone here that you trust. Or you could post a less specific request in the Prayer Room forum. I don't mind speaking in tongues for you and letting God figure it out. :) George
  12. My dad was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. If there was any weird ritualism associated with it, he certainly kept it secret from me. Other than the occasional duty of escorting the Cardinal, it really seemed to be about poker with the guys. I do remember one touching thing, though: at my dad's wake, an honor guard of two Knights stood by his casket, with a guard change every hour. It would have been tough enough for young men to stand for an hour like that; but these were, shall we say, mature gentlemen. I was well beyond my Catholic days by that point, but I was still moved by the honor they paid my dad. Does this have anything to do with Seth's post? Who knows? George
  13. Was this the NG episode with Tasha's sister and an underground resistance movement? I think it was called "Legacy." George
  14. Alec Baldwin The Hunt For Red October James Earl Jones George
  15. Jack Nicholson The Witches of Eastwick Susan Sarandon George
  16. Come back to chat! George
  17. I don't post as much in the Open and About the Way threads as I used to, and haven't posted in Doctrinal in years. Why? Because it is largely the same discussions as when I joined, only with different participants. Does that mean it's boring? No. I think newbies need to work out the same issues that we old-timers did (and, in some cases, still do). I just don't have much to add to those discussions. People come and go here as they please, and that's as it should be. I enjoy the camaraderie and, if I may use the word, fellowhip, even if it's primarily virtual. As for me and my house, we choose to hang out here! :B) George
  18. I said, "You're on, buddy, my mill's runnin' fine Let's come off the line now, at Sunset and Vine." George
  19. Jodie Foster Silence of the Lambs Anthony Hopkins George
  20. It might have been a little different in the Houston area, perhaps because we were spread pretty wide. Though we were asked to come to the "prayer location" if we were close, we could do our hour of prayer from home. I guess we just didn't reach the level of heartlessness that was found elsewhere. George
  21. Andy Garcia Ocean's Eleven Elliot Gould George
