  1. "I'm more like my father than I thought. I wanted to be the lawyer he was, the man he was. Turns out we both just like to cheat on our wives." "Look at this. A Christmas card from Rosalyn." "You know, she probably had them sent out by a service and no one thought to notify them that she was dead." "I guess you're right; a Christmas card from the grave." "One thing you can say about Rosalyn, she sure knew how to network." "It's time you people remember whose name is at the top of the letterhead!" "Don't underestimate me, I'm amazing with mums. When I was at High School all of them had crushes on me, it was the daughters I had trouble with." George
  2. Tom Cruise All the Right Moves Lea Thompson George
  3. Since the doctor was a boy once, that eliminates NG and Voyager. I doubt Phlox would have had a toy bear, and McCoy never talked about his childhood, it must be DS9. I'm going to guess that it's the episode where Maj. Kira's boyfriend needs repeated brain surgeries, becoming more and more robotic, and less and less human, until Bashir convinces her to "pull the plug," so to speak. George
  4. I didn't recognize Mr. Wood, but you really have it, NIS. It was a Jonny Depp movie. Give it another try. George
  5. I tried to find a picture of a cool chef without a name on it. No Luck. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! George
  6. Actually, it was just "Heathers," You're up, Mr. Strange! George
  7. Why, you may take the most gallant sailor, the most intrepid airman or the most audacious soldier, put them at a table together- what do you get? The sum of all fears. Colleges typically did not tell you that ninety percent of your education came after you hung the parchment on the wall. People might ask for a rebate. George
  8. A foreign girl catches the eye of a pair of rivals. All three wind up dead. George
  9. Sounds like the original "Airport" George
  10. Looking forward to seeing you again, too! George
  11. Okay, gang! Here's the basic schedule for the weekend. The main event, of course, is the Saturday barbeque. We'll start serving snacks around 2 PM, with the actual BBQ around 6. Then, general hanging around until you can't stand it anymore. Many of you will be arriving on Friday. The Countess and I would be happy to have you come by after dinner, say, 7:30, for pre-BBQ fun and games. I'm sure ex10 has a number of places in her neck of the woods where you might enjoy dinner; I would be happy to recommend some places in Pearland. (Highway 518 has a wide variety.) Since most of you (it seems) will be staying in The Woodlands, I suggest ending the Friday festivities at midnight to allow you to drive back. Ex10 has graciously opened her home for you on Sunday morning for brunch and fellowship. The exact time probably won't be determined until Saturday night. ;) I suspect that the attendance will be significantly greater than the few names posted here so far. Especially as the day draws closer, I'll need to know how many to prepare for. You can PM me if you don't wish to publicize. See ya! :) George
  12. It was, indeed, "The Natural." Go, Lifted! George
  13. Unless VPW quoted him without citation, the last one is clearly Dickens (A Tale of Two Cities). George
  14. With this particular thread, I'd use VERY well-known movies. Disguising the plot of a virtually unknown movie is like making counterfeit Monopoly money. (To be fair, I have no idea how popular "Stranger than Fiction" was, but I can't recall even hearing of it before now.) George
  15. I remember being in some leaders' meeting (it might have been at an AC or WIB). The gentleman leading my group was a BC in Louisiana. He shared that in one PFAL class he ran, he had to remove a firearm from one of the participants (not by force, just saying the guy didn't need it). I started laughing hysterically, thinking about a guy who thought he might have to shoot his way out of a Bible class! Now a clergy meeting, on the other hand... To be fair, Nehemiah had armed people building the wall of Jerusalem, and Paul had a Roman cohort protect him from those who plotted to kill him. George
  16. I remember seeing Three Stooges reruns all the time, but I can't remember any Abbot and Costello. Maybe they just didn't run in Chicago. George
  17. Sounds like an HG Wells story. "The Day the Earth Stood Still"? George
  18. Next time, just guess the flick. If you're wrong, you can guess again without having to disqualify yourself! "Batting practice tomorrow, be there!" "I have been. Every day." "You read my mind." "That takes all of three seconds." "My ma urged me to get out of this game. When I was a kid, she pleaded with me. And I meant to, you know what I mean? But she died." "Tough." "Now look at me. I'm wet nurse to a last-place, dead-to-the-neck-up ball club, and I'm choking to death!" "I guess some mistakes you never stop paying for." "You know, I believe we have two lives." "How... what do you mean?" "The life we learn with and the life we live with after that." "Pretty good food, huh?" "Damn good." "You can't spell it, but it eats pretty good, don't it?" George
  19. That's it! (I work in Catherine Bell pics whenever I can!) George
  20. "It's time you people remember whose name is at the top of the letterhead!" "Don't underestimate me, I'm amazing with mums. When I was at High School all of them had crushes on me, it was the daughters I had trouble with." George
  21. Yeah. Craig's Advanced Class (PFAL -- I was gone before the WAP AC). He made a show of cocking a shotgun and a pistol (a Glock, I think) as "sounds that would back off a devil spirit." or words to that effect. At least in HIS theology, a devil spirit would rather hang out in a human that he'd already "conditioned" than have to go find another. George
