  2. I'm going on vacation tomorrow for a week, so I won't be around to check. Someone else, please go ahead and post! George
  3. Oh, and then there's the Greasespot barbecues we've had the last three years. Lots of ex-Wayfers there! George
  4. No. Right network, though. It's a current show. George
  5. Well, pretty much everyone I fellowship with these days are ex-Wayfers. Does that count? :B) George
  6. Fine. John Travolta Face Off Nicholas Cage George
  7. If I'm not mistaken, that's Aunt Em in "The Wizard of Oz." George
  8. There ya' go, Dooj! "Jerry Maguire." "No one ever won a war by dying for his country. You win by making the OTHER son-of-a-b--- die for HIS country!" George
  9. (on phone) "I'm very angry that your mother paid us a surprise visit.....No, I don't hate your mother; I don't know your mother. I hate surprises!" "Do you know that periwinkle is also an intracoastal mussel?" "No, but if you hum a few bars, I'll wing it." "Every one of those individuals shares a unique attribute, distinguishing them from the rest of the general population. And that is, somebody wants them dead." "What about my Probe? Exactly what image was that suppose to transfer, 'cause all I'm getting is paper dress, metal stirrups and legs a-kimbo. Exactly what was the thought process behind that marketing coup? (Impersonates a Ford marketing exec) Say Bob, what's a metaphor for an invasive, somewhat humiliating procedure 'cause we really need something to compete with the Chevy Speculum." George
  10. I was another who had been booted before I learned of the rottenness in the system. Of course, there were occasional allegations, but nothing substantial. George
  11. Well, I feel safer, knowing he's around! :) George
  12. Interesting. For me, something like "Fish sticks on Wednesday" or "Qantas...never had an accident." would have been giveaway lines, but not "K-Mart sucks." All a matter of perspective. I agree that Dooj gave up too early. As I did with "Risky Business," try another line if the first doesn't click. "Rain Man" was definitely a well-known film. Definitely. ;) Steve!, why don't you give it a go? George
  13. They seem to fail the cardinal rule of writing: Eschew obfuscation. George
  14. As I have been away for a few days, I was not surprised to see a large number of posts in this thread. I don't know if I should be surprised that SOWERS Grad hasn't posted in days. What I do want to know is, what the heck have the REST of you been fighting about? :) George
  15. I guess I was out of town for all the real fun. Sorry I'm a bit late, but Happy Birthday, Old Man! George
  16. Actually, I started this thread because in the "Name That Flick" thread there were lines that would come to me for a film which I thought would be too obvious. So, to make it more challenging, I would dig up less obvious quotes, and if necessary, eventually give the easy one(s). As I mentioned in the opening post, there are movies out there for which certain lines might be giveaways but which had a small enough viewership to make it obscure, anyway. (The quintessential example being "Traxx.") Is "Slap Shot" in that category? I don't know. (Even I saw the movie a long time ago, but remember almost nothing about it.) You're generally more likely to get a quick hit with a a more well-known movie, though a good quote might get you there even for a less-well-known film. Note that WW got "Risky Business" without having seen the film, after I gave the right quote. As far as responding is concerned, I suggest putting a question mark after your answer, if you're unsure of its correctness. If you know you have the right answer, go ahead and post another one. George
  17. I know I've heard that exchange. "King of the Hill"? George
  18. I'm certain I'm right, but I won't be in town for a few days, so someone else may post a new clue. George
  19. Somebody go ahead and give it. I'll be out of town for a few days. George
  20. Since you seem quite sure of your answer, how about posting a new clue? George
  21. Those were from "Blood Diamond." I'll be out of town for a few days, so free post! George
  22. That was "Julie, Julie, Julie, Do you Love Me?" by Bobby Sherman. I'll be out of town for a few days, so anyone can go ahead. George
