Well, I gotta tell ya, last night's episode was "weird science" to say the least. A "sip" of liquid nitrogen would not be enough to kill anyone. It might sting for a moment, but it would boil off before doing any harm. Now if someone poured a whole Thermos of the stuff down your throat... Abby's gas chromatograph was nonsense, as well. And finding "residues of liquid nitrogen" in the discarded Thermos -- not going to happen. (Once it evaporates, LN2 is the same as the nitrogen in the air.) This wasn't a Halloween episode; it was April Fool's! George

  4. Maybe I can get this started again. three pics, need a name George
  5. "On pure speculation... just an educated guess – I'd say that man is alive." "It's like a jigsaw puzzle, all one color. No key to where the pieces fit in. Why?" "No , don't... No, please!" "It shouldn't hurt; not like this, it didn't hurt us." "I am not like you." George
  6. Is this the NG episode where Data and Pulaski aid a ship where the crew has aged rapidly. They were also "contagious," so Pulaski got old, too. They were able to save her by programming her DNA (from a hair in her hairbrush) into the transporter and "re-configuring" her. If I'm right, it's also the episode where she stops thinking of Data as just a machine. George
  7. Actually, a few WIB's (or is that W's IB?) had a day set apart for specific businesses (Word in Arts, Word in Building, Word in Education, etc.) Those like myself (a chemist), for whom there was no specific "forum," could do Word in Ethics. I remember at least one year where I did this. It was led by Walter C and involvedferreting out keys from the Ten Commandments (yes, the Ten Commandments) which would apply to business. It was very interactive. George

Well, the polygraph babe seems interested in him... George
  9. It is, of course. Spoken by Ben Grimm after he turns himself back into the Thing to help take out Dr. Doom. Probably the best "tag line" in comic books. George

"Jimmy Palmer" is a featured character, not a starring role. He didn't appear in every episode last season, so I'm not surprised that we haven't seen him yet. Relax! George

  12. Thanks, cman. Incidentally, I first became aware of this when I got a warning that my virus vault was "full." I don't know how long it's supposed to go before deleting the files (I still don't understand why it doesn't do it immediately); but I manually deleted them (not the vault itself, of course). George

  15. If the girls had had a paper and pencil, maybe they would have attached a note to their cell phone and set it adrift in the storm drain! George
  16. My latest phone bill had an item attached for a monthly charge of ~$15 for "mydietonline.com." I called the phone company and had it canceled (though I did have to pay for one month). Although she swears she did no such thing, my wife apparently had "ordered" the service online. I now suspect that she "took a survey" or clicked a "discount" button with unintended consequences. 19. Presently, my antivirus software is the free AVG 8.5. (I also use Spybot and Advanced System Care to keep things "clean.") Apparently, a Trojan virus has attacked my computer, and the AVG software can't "heal" it, so it puts it in a "vault." What does that mean? Why doesn't it just erase the virus program, since it can obviously detect it? I found the "vault" on my C-drive. Should I just delete all the files in it? Is there a good way to "heal" this Trojan? George
