Hey, I thought you (or was it Steve!?) were kidding with "The Squid and the Whale"! "Anne of the Thousand Days" starred Richard Burton and Genevieve Bujold. It was nominated for about a dozen Oscars, including Best Picture (1969). You're up. George

Actually, no; but I THOUGHT there was! The actual title of the movie (I just looked it up) was "Anne of THE Thousand Days." Story of Anne Boleyn. You're up, Raf! George

That's the one. Normally, we wouldn't allow two guesses without a response, but it seems you're the only one with a clue about this one. You're up! George

Tzaia's take on the chair-stringing thread: Perhaps it was all the focus on the trivial that kept people from seeing the big picture. Geroge

Something that has escaped the mainstream media is that there are large supplies of Tamiflu available, thanks to the protocols put in place by Pres. (G W) Bush. George

Yep, by Neil Sedaka. It's funny -- when it came out in the 70's, I thought it was Karen Carpenter singing. I couldn't figure out the line "I look at her, and she kises me"! You're up, Bow George -

If you give the title, that's fine. George -

"They cannot hear you, Captain. To their ears, you sound like an insect. That's your description, Captain. Accurate, if unflattering. Really there is nothing wrong with them." "Am I behaving incorrectly?" "No. It's just that I liked you the way you were before: stubborn, irritating, and independent." George -
Roy, It sounds that you've recovered from your illness. I pray for God's blessing on you for many more years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! George

Every year, 20,000-30,000 Americans die of the flu. I doubt that this will make a big dent. George

That's why I waould always sit at the end of a row. As soon as the meeting got started, I could slide the seat out a few inches. Because of the different geometries of men and women (men, broader shoulders and narrower hips; women, vice versa), sitting "boy-girl-boy-girl..." could provide a small amount of relief when the chairs are too close. Of course. Chief O'Brien was married, too. This was the DS9 episode where O'Brien thinks there's some massive conspiracy, with everyone, including Keiko, in on it. Actually, he wasn't the real O'Brien, but a doppelganger who THOUGHT he was O'Brien. George -
Now, don't go confusing revelation with "inspired action"! ;) George

"When you hit the end of the rope... your muscles lose control. I'm afraid I'll mess myself." "It's nothing to be ashamed of. They all do it." "They say Nancy's boyfriend is the prime suspect." "Is that what they say?" "Well, he was the last one to see them alive." "Except for the killers." "It doesn't make sense. I mean what happened. It had nothing to do with the Clutters. They never hurt me. They just happened to be there. I thought Mr. Clutter was a very nice gentleman... I thought so right up to the time I cut his throat." "Someday, somebody will explain to me the motive of a newspaper. First, you scream, "Find the bastards." Till we find them, you want to get us fired. When we find them, you accuse us of brutality. Before we go into court, you give them a trial by newspaper. When we finally get a conviction, you want to save them by proving they were crazy in the first place." George

Was this the Voyager episode where they ran into the Ferengi who got lost in the Delta Quadrant on a NG episode? Neelix pretends to be a Ferengi and doesn't know all the Rules of A. Paris is about the only married officer I can think of (except Worf, I guess, but he wouldn't have written any "sexy letters" to Dax). I believe the episode was "False Profits." George -

OK, Steve!. Why not give the real answer and post a new one? George

And Worf's busting up of Geordi's lute in an homage to "Animal House" was memorable, too! New episode: "All of my old friends look like doctors – all of his... look like you." "Counsels will direct their remarks to the bench!" "Oh, I'd be delighted to, sir, now that I have something HUMAN to talk about! Rights, sir – HUMAN rights! The Bible. The Code of Hammurabi. And of Justinian. The Magna Carta. The Constitution of the United States. The Fundamental Declarations of the Martian Colonies. The Statutes of Alpha III. Gentlemen, these documents all speak of RIGHTS! Rights of the accused to a trial by his peers, to be represented by counsel, the rights of cross-examination, but most importantly, the right to be confronted by the witnesses against him – a right to which my client has been denied!" I believe this is the NG episode "Q-pid." Q sets up Vash and Picard as Maid Marian and Robin Hood (with the rest of the officers as Merry Men). Classic Worf: "I am NOT a merry man!!" :) George -
This is probably about the fourth virus this decade which "threatens to become a pandemic." I think it's good that people are made aware of these things early, so that they DON'T get out of hand; but early media reports always seem to exaggerate the problem. George
