  1. Well, apparently Raf isn't correct. And I thought I was pretty clever. George
  2. My assumption is that the spoofs were titled according to the character on stage. Maybe (assuming Raf is correct) Macarthur and Mindy Macbeth and Mindy MacDonald and Mindy ? George
  3. Correct. In the first segment of the TZ movie, a bunch of lost soldiers in Vietnam bemoan the fact that they shouldn't have "fragged Lt. Niedermeyer." At the end of AH, when describing the futures of the main characters, Niedermeyer is mentioned as being killed by his own troops in Vietnam. In the "Qpid" episode of STTNG, Worf grabs Geordi's lute, smashes it, and sheepishly says "Sorry" (a la Belushi in AH). Donald Sutherland blew off the gross but said it was one of the funniest experiences he ever had. George
  4. No, because this clearly isn't Singing in the Rain. George
  5. There obviously can't be six consonants in a row, so at least two must be vowels. Note that the example I gave of TWO connected pairs was baLLOOn. And WW has given the only word I know of that fits. Again, I don't know if there are others. George
  6. I actually only know one, but there could certainly be as many as four. Feel free to give one (or more). George
  7. Some words contain pairs of double letters in sequence, e.g., balloon. Can you name a word that has THREE pairs of double letters in a row? George
  8. I'm not sure this is an EASY movie quote... George
  9. I can't either. But you're correct. George
  10. Margot also seems unlikely to bother the US: George
  11. Usually called "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things" but also known as "The Flower Girl." With Redrock out for a while, Human is up. George
  12. WW is correct. And, especially for musicals, song lyrics are often the MOST recognizable lines from a movie. George
  13. The Sound of Silence "I saw her sitting in the rain, raindrops falling on her." George
  14. My motto's always been 'when it's right, it's right' Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night? When everything's a little clearer in the light of day And we know the night is always gonna be there any way . . . Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite And the thought of lovin' you is getting so exciting . . Started out this morning feeling so polite I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling George
  15. Homages to this film can be found in the Twilight Zone movie and an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation (and, I imagine, other places). One actor was so convinced of the movie's lack of potential that, when offered a percent of the gross or a flat fee of $75,000 for his three days' work, he took the upfront payment. Had he taken the gross percentage, he would have been worth an additional $3-4 million. Interestingly, the same actor considers the film among his personal favorites of all his films. He described working in it as the funniest experience he had on a set. George
  16. Have you and WordWolf exchanged bodies? "We're going to clone a nose." George
  17. Lee may hit Cat 4 in a couple of days. Most predictions have it running east of the US (until maybe New England). George
