  1. "Let the dead rest, and the past remain the past." "As you hew-mons say, I'm all ears." George
  2. Perhaps gift isn't the right word. You have free access to a place with rules. Like a youth center: somebody else pays for it, and you can use it, but you have to follow the rules. Better? George
  3. This is one of my favorite Voyager episodes, where the Doctor gets sent to a prorotype Federation ship that has been commandeered by the Romulans. He enlists the aid of the Doctor v.2 on the ship to re-take it, just in time to keep from being blown up by the Federation. I believe the title was "Message in a Bottle." George
  4. Here's a word I haven't seen in about four decades, but it showed up recently in an article about the "scientists" promoting the "global warming crisis": Mountebank n. (from the Italian montimbanco, one who climbs upon a bench or platform) 1 : a person who sells quack medicines from a platform 2 : a boastful unscrupulous pretender : charlatan The mountebank VPW made all sorts of exaggerated claims about himself and PFAL. George
  5. No, though I think I see how you might get that from Marty McFly helping his dad. The movie I had in mind was far more somber. George
  6. I enjoy "House," but I'm hard-pressed to think of a MOVIE with HL in it... George
  7. "Superman II" (I think I would have used one of Luthor's jibes with Zod, instead.) I like these guys. They are funny guys! Just kill one of them! (Also a film where many lines would be giveaways) George
  8. I'll add a hint: it's a sci-fi flick. George
  9. Sorry, Dude. I just don't know any of your songs! George
  10. "It's a Wonderful Life." They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. *That's* the *Chicago* way! George
  11. I happened to see her one night, and found her exegesis fairly interesting. I was unaware of her history. George
  12. Well, it's obviously late enough in DS9 that Voyager has already started. And it seems far enough along that we already know that Julian was genetically "enhanced." But I'm still not getting the episode. George
  13. 9 1/2 Weeks Margaret Whitton The Secret of My Success George
  14. "What are you doing here? Five words or less." "Out. For. A. Walk... Bitch." "We saved the world. I say we party!" "That probably would've sounded more convincing if I wasn't wearing my yummy sushi pajamas." George
  15. "The Fugitive" "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one." George
  16. Actually, it was the names Kaylee and Wash, along with the "no saying grace out loud" line that gave it away. I thought it was a terrific show (and, yes, it was supposed to be a "space Western"). It was relegated to Friday night, though, which seems to be a death sentence for any sci-fi show (except for shows on SyFy, ironically). Moving "Dollhouse" to Friday doesn't bode well for this Joss Whedon show; and "Smallville" may be on the way out, too. :( I'll post new clues later today. George
  17. The last exchange sounds like Rom and Quark, so I'd guess DS9, but which episode? George
  18. Yeah, Ron. Nuke a liberal or something. You deserve it! George
  19. Indeed, Paw. Happy Birthday, and thanks for giving us the Cafe! George
  20. But his merits are lilliputian. (Lilliputian and brobdingnagian are derived from the tiny and giant peoples, respectively, in Gulliver's Travels.) George
  21. A man's best friend turns out to be his son. George
